The bathrooms have an awful lingering odor. Good location and good staff but the social environment was off.

I had a booking and they could not answer an email when I had a query I only received generic initial booking confirmation. This was a red flag to me as it is not hard if I am coming to stay so have had to book elsewhere that nowhere near that original location which will cause added cost to each journey. It is just not professional to still not have answered

They sold the bed twice. I messaged them saying that my flight was delayed past 22:00 and instead of simply acknowledging that I won’t be able to check in (which Is BS) they got greedy and resold the bed. So when I arrived in the morning at 9am they said I need to wait until checkout because someone was in the bed I already paid for and not refunded. so making double the money, despite promising me I can check in first thing in the morning when they open at 9. Plain ROBBERY and DECEIT

The location is very good, the facilities are very old but clean

Beware of the false advertisement by the owner. I booked this hostel because they claimed it had air-conditioning, however only after check-in you find out that the A/C hours are limited to 2-4pm and 9pm-6am. I stayed there in the last week of July, when the temperature outside was 37C/99F, so the hours without A/C were unbearable. We had an overall good stay at Le Mat Hotel, which is a beautiful and pleasant place with modern facilities and a nice ambiance. However, several incidents affected our experience. Worst night of sleep in my life. Was snuppiser to stay there for two nights, but after i’d been awake the prior night I escaped at 5am and checked into a hotel. Stayed in a room with 7 men at 50 years old.

Beautiful hostel. The employees and the owner are very helpful. At my second stay he helped me out when I suddenly found myself in need of a bed late at night.

Hostel is in a brilliant location, a minute’s walk to the old town or the beachfront. It is all self check-in, no staff there at all but they were responsive via whatsapp and no social atmosphere really. Room was clean and spacious but the shower setup lets the hostel down - nowhere to really put your clothes without them getting wet. Still pretty good value for money.

A beautiful old building, very good location, near the sea and bus stop. I think in summer must be awesome, but in February was a bit cold. I used some extra blankets and it was ok during the night. The living room is not very good insulated, in fact a wall is a transparent plastic sheet that separates it from a small garden. Beautiful, but cold and draught, not very cosy. Beds are fine, a bit squeaky though. Bathroom and kitchen are clean. I liked the Tarot cards placed at the doors and beds.

Le Mat has everything you want in a hostel - excellent location, beautiful common spaces, spotless cleanliness, and a well-equipped kitchen. The atmosphere and facilities would easily earn 5 stars. However, there's a dog on the property that barked continuously throughout the night. Not occasionally - literally all night. This made sleep nearly impossible and significantly impacted the stay. If the dog situation is resolved, this would be an outstanding hostel.

I’ve been to 32 countries all over the world, and I can easily say that Le Mat Hostel felt more like my private retreat or home rather than a hostel—just amazing! Spacious, relaxing, cozy, and close to everything. If you’re visiting Larnaca or Cyprus, Le Mat is a no-brainer.

Location is great. However insulation is horrible. Sleep quality is zero. Even in private rooms there is space between doors and wall and you can hear everyone coming at 2AM or leaving at 6AM. There is even glass above the doors in the private rooms so the light from the corridors enters the room. This could easily be solved. But the management seems uninterested and in general stuff was not good with giving information on what to do or see. This was super disappointing. Heating is only AC and n...

Great place to stay while in Larnaca. Situated very close to the beach, less ha a minute, it has everything you need, and the place looks very authentic.

It's a lovely hostel. The kitchen facilities and shared common areas are great. the owner of the hostel is an art collector and likes using recycled/repurposed items. The cleaning staff was great. The location meant you could make a early bus ride and there were so many eating/drinking/tourist and fun options. They had a QR code that you can download with some wonderful suggestions.
