Trip Monkey Hostel Zona G

+ Nothing. I’ve travelled a great deal but I have never found anywhere as bad as this for the price.

- The breakfast was a myth. First the receptionist said there was no breakfast. When I showed him the booking he spoke to someone and gave me an address. Ten minutes later I’m looking for the breakfast place but it didn’t exist. I found a pair of someone else’s socks in my bed. Guess how that felt? KLM had lost my luggage so I had nothing. The receptionist actually found it funny. In my room was left done device that rang when someone rang the buzzer. Took me two times to work it when I was asleep. For an extra £25.00 I stayed in the excellent Holiday Inn Express & Suites. Please do not stay here. You will regret it. If you don’t have the money there are plenty of good centrally located hostels. I got a new hotel after one night - I didn’t trust them if my luggage (which KLM had lost) arrived. I told them my concerns and got nothing back from them.

+ rien le personnel est exécrable on c’est fait menacer par le patron qui nous a traiter comme des moins que rien et qui nous a voler de l’argent

- le service de buanderie ne marche pas alors qu’ils vous le font quand même payer, à fuir !!

- Me quejé en Booking porque en mi segunda noche la tipa de recepción nos dejó a mi a otra chica japonesa sin cama que porque se le había olvidado y nos maltrato y humilló, y ahora, la misma tipa de de recepción subió un comentario el día de ayer inventando cosas que no sucedieron, no me reciben en ningún hostal y hotel de Chapinero por ese comentario con mi cédula y todo, llevo horas tratando de contactarme con la administración y no me quieren atender, tampoco quisieron atender a mi abogado. Es un lugar muy peligroso para hospedarse porque el personal es maltratador y si te quejan arremeten contra ti y las otras personas, sobre todo contra persona que no saben ni hablar español. Estoy en este momento en la fiscalía presentando cargos.

- Me trataron pésimo e intentaron cobrar unos impuestos siendo extranjera. Aparte que aun sin hacerles nada, solo que les comenté qué no estaba de acuerdo con esas medida que no es coherente con las leyes colombianas, Solo por comentarlo....me prohibieron quedarme en las instalaciones, y pidieron que me retirara aún cuándo yo tenía reserva por ésta plataforma. El administrador un tal Juan me trató de manera grosera, sin el respeto de haber sido huésped y una cliente potencial recurrente.

+ The room was clean and the location was very good

- This is an unorganized and unprofessional hostel. I had 2 small issues and 1 very big issue that was probably a crime. 1) most of the staff spoke no English at all. This made communication very hard 2) I had the single room with private bathroom, which was tiny, just enough space for the bed. Based on the description and the photos my room was supposed to have a wardrobe but it did not have it, they used the photos of another room. 3) I had a flight at 5:30 AM and I told the staff who for once spoke English. The guy told me I could leave my keys and check out anytime with no problems. The original flight was cancelled, I rebooked, called my cab, and tried to check out at 4:25 AM. When I got out of the room I saw that everywhere was pitch black. I tried to find my way down the stairs to a light switch. Saw the reception desk was empty, the door was closed, and the outer gate to the property was shut. I pushed the button receptionists push to exit, and tried to go out, and saw that the gate had a huge STEEL PADLOCK on it. This is property has high walls with iron bars, and electrified fences, and they LOCKED US IN with a padlock and left. I tried the other gate and saw it had two padlocks. I looked for an emergency exit and there was nothing except the main gate. I tried to use the keys sitting behind the receptionist’s desk but they did not work. I was frantically trying to open every door when a sleepy young man emerged from the basement. He was supposed to be the night receptionist (I think) who locked everyone in, went to sleep, and took the keys with him. This would be a crime in Turkey or the USA. I suppose it must be a crime in Colombia too. If there was a fire in the property, the best case scenario there would be a rampage, the worst case, we would all burn alive. I have never experienced anything like this in my life. The management of this property should be reported to the law enforcement agencies.

+ Confortevole, letto comodissimo, amplio, con tenda, lenzuola morbide e spazio per riporre le propie cose. Posizione ottima, spazio esterno.

- Manca la cucina - è possibile utilizzare quella dell'altra sede ma non è molto comodo. I bagni...

- Light in the room didn’t work and the beer is expensive

+ Nice neighborhood and restaurants around.

- Issue: I booked a private room and it was not advertised as external bathroom ⚠️The owner needs to update Booking.com listing. Improvements: -no hooks in bedroom -only one hook in bathroom and zero space for anything -room needs a beside lamp and a switch for the main light near the bed! -paper thin walls you can hear everything inside and the street -curtain not blackout enough -there is a mini bar basket without prices making it look like its free!

+ La instalación muy linda y cómoda, fue el segundo trip monkey que visité y tienen la misma estética lo cual me gustó. Un gran punto es que tengan el locker dentro de la cama, así es más cómodo revisar tus cosas.

- Al ser los baños mixtos hay hombres que no tienen buena higiene, deberían tener más cuidado y que tenga una limpieza más regular para que no se acumule la suciedad.

+ despite the disappointing hostal vibe, the room was comfortable, there is nice hot water, and staff was frieldly. so this is a good cheap hotel, NOT a hostal.

- There was no shared kitchen and the vibe was dead. What tiny common space they had was being converted to a restaurant and no one was hanging out. All I wanted was to make myself a cup of tea. you can't call yourself a hostal without a shared kitchen, just no.

+ Très bien situé, le staff est disponible et accueillant, la chambre est correcte.

- La chambre n’était pas très propre et il faisait très froid, car la fenêtre laissait passer le vent (mal isolé).

- A veces en recepción hablan muy duro, se escuchan las habitaciones de noche

+ Tryp Monkey es un hostal al que siempre que venía de visita a la ciudad, me encantaba ir, pero desde el año pasado que estuve unos días y este año, he notado que el ambiente tranquilo y familiar que se percibía ha cambiado notablemente. En la madrugada, algunos huéspedes, hacían. Ruido y fumaban marihuana, hace poco me quedé durante dos noches y en la madrugada de anoche tuve que quedarme sin dormir, porque el chico que trabaja y vive allí, estuvo teniendo relaciones sexuales con su novio en la parte exterior y el ruido que hicieron fue para mi forma de ver totalmente irresponsable e irrespetuoso, pues un empleado con sentido de pertenencia, no hace esa clase de cosas. Publico esto con el ánimo de que evalúen esta clase de situaciones y mejore el servicio porque de verdad Tryp es un hostal que es un hostal con las 3 B y la ubicación, es excepcional, lástima las situaciones q se han presentado, ameritan un seguimiento por parte de los dueños.

- No especifica que los baños a pesar de ser privados no se encuentran en la habitación. Los huéspedes son muy ruidosos a altas horas de la noche y madrugada sin recibir llamados de atención del personal.
