Feel like Home Anuradhapura

ondanks dat hier veel backpackers heen gaan zou ik hier niet heen gaan. i.p.v. feel like home is het eerder een wanna go home. de airco werkt pas in de avond, waardoor overdag de kamer heel warm is. bij binnenkomst lagen er haren en dode muggen op de bedden, er is overal schimmel en er lopen s'nachts meerdere kakkerlakken door badkamer en kamer. personeel kijkt weinig naar je om. geen aanrader dus

The hostel is lovely and the family is very welcoming. Ash’s temple tour was a highlight, he is kind and genuine. Sadly, my stay was ruined by the staff member & Safari guide, Vie. While we were doing the Safari, he played loud techno music at 6:30am, became angry when I asked him to lower it, and ignored me for the rest of the trip. He gave no explanations about animals and treated me with disrespect. The driver was great, but Vie’s behavior was unprofessional. Do not book the safari here.

I would avoid this hostel at all costs! This is quite frankly the filthiest hostel I have stayed in. Examples include ants on the floors which I still found in my bags over the next few days. Mold on the walls. Dirty bed sheets on every single one of the beds in the room I was in. Dust and cobwebs around the place. The only saving grace is that they organise good tours. Regardless, I booked two nights and left a night early as I couldn’t out myself through another night

Unfortunately the fan was broken, bathroom was dirty and matrasses were dirty as well. I asked for a blanket and was first told this wasn't possible but after asking again it was. My friends bed and mosquitonet were broken too. We eventually only stayed for 1 night instead of 2 but they were nice and gave our money back for the night we cancelled.

DO NOT STAY HERE. The manager turned out to be an unpleasant man, and he made me feel very unsafe during my time here. Whilst everything else about the hostel seems good, I would seriously recommend spending the extra money to stay somewhere safe and secure. Especially wouldn't recommend for female solo travellers. I would give it 0 stars if I could.

Strange place, felt like I was almost intruding in their home. Cockroaches, a bit dirty, and I felt like the atmosphere was very odd, but I did somehow meet nice people here.

I had a very unpleasant experience at the hostel, which I didn’t expect after all the good reviews I saw. The overall atmosphere was really bad. The outside area was small and ugly which made it hard to just hang out at the hostel while it was raining. Overall it was not clean: dead cockroach, dirty kitchen and dirty and rusty cutlery. Was quite gross

Location was good. Staff were not very good at communicating in english. Was told I could go on a tour that day, when I was waiting to leave and it took long time I asked again and was told it was in fact not that day. Power cut a few times. Bathroom was dark and shoddy. Lots of mozzies (did have a mosquito net) Useless pillow. The hostel is really just a few rooms inside someone’s home, which I did not expect.

The beda were very dirty with all kinds of stains. Hostel not social and the owners were only interested in selling you their safari and not helpful in other activities like directions to the bus. We left a night earlier and we saw that the sheets weren’t changed….

This was a really nice place! The people were really kind kind and super helpfull. Had a great stay, for a great price!

The kindest hosts!! And a great location to explore Anradhapura. There weren’t many people there when I was there but that’s not really anyone’s fault. The only issue was that the AC wasn’t working in the room I was assigned. Thankfully there was a bed available in another room, but apparently in 2 out of 3 rooms the AC doesn’t work. Very good place, the staff is super, really feel like home

it's more of a guesthouse than a hostel, but guess what? That's great! staff were friendly and it's very close to the bus stop. Of course the value is excellent. Hidden Gem: The walking bath by the nearby lake is excellent and mostly filled with locals.

All you need in a hostel! Super friendly staff and social vibe.

The name of the hostel really describes it all, the family, the vibe, rooms and amenities. Ash is a stand up guy who will help with anything questions or concerns. The location is perfect from the bus station with lots of good restaurants and shops nearby. The jungle tour is setup really well from the confirmation to arranging pickup from other hotels or hostels. All I can say is give it a shot and enjoy.

Lovely staff! Really enjoyed staying at Feel like home. The atmosphere between the travellers was very cosy and easy to meet new people! Would recommend this hostel to everybody!

I passed three really good nights at Feel Like Home Anuradhapura. The house is located outside of the busy city but still close enough that you can easily find food. The family that owns it is super nice and helped me with all of the questions I had having just arrived to Sri Lanka. The facilities were basic but completely sufficient and the atmosphere in the evenings was incredibly friendy and warm. Really recommended!

Mixed experience here. Room was comfortable/ clean, no issues with mosquitos (theres nets) but no AC or hot water. Definitely a homestay vibe, sometimes difficult to find the man whos running things, you can feel like youre intruding. I did safari through them which was good but Ash the guide wasnt the best which was suprising after the reviews. Für den Preis, super „Hostel“ - leider wenig los und es ist mehr ein Homestay, da die Hosts und Familie im selben Haus wohnen. Dafür bekommt man aber gute Tipps für Anuradhapura, hilft vor allem, wenn sonst niemand vor Ort ist bzw die meisten nur für die Safari kommen (verständlich)

Hele aardige en behulpzame mensen die graag holpen met de weg vinden of thee of fruit voor me maakte. De douches waren wel koud, maar voor de prijs was deze plek het heel erg waard! ik heb ook de safari gedaan met ash, fijn hoe dat vanuit het hostel geregeld werd en de safari zelf was ook heel erg leuk!

The bathroom smells and has mold on the ceiling. The beds are fine. There's no air conditioning in the women's room, but there is a fan. It wasn't very cozy when I was there, but I've been away a lot. It's located on a very dark street.
