Palace Beach Hostel

There are bed bugs in the hostal!!! I stayed 8-people dorm and disvovered 3 of them in my bed after having slept 3hours. I then spent the rest of the night in a chair next to the reception. Even downstairs I discovered 2 more bugs. I tried to get a refund for the night, but the said that they couldn‘t to it because I booked through Hostelworld. They also told me that they have had problema with bed bugs befor and that they just definfected to hostal a week ago. Complete nonsense.

Sadly had a very bad experience in this hostel. The place felt overall quite clean but I found bed bugs in my sheets. Not particularly blaming the hostel but maybe the cleaner, but I left straight away once I saw them. The hostel refused to refund my stay which concluded this stay on a very bad note. I would stay away from it.

Owner is money-hungry and careless about guest safety. I was bitten ~80 times by bed bugs my first night. Vinny at reception was great and concerned, but the owner dismissed the bugs even when shown. Another unused bed also had bed bugs. Despite this, the room stayed in use. Guests who overheard got moved; new arrivals weren’t warned. No sign of cleaning or treatment. The owner refused a refund, claiming there was “no evidence” of bed bugs.

The staff was pretty nice but didn’t recommend things to do. Signs in the kitchen said cooking was forbidden except for boiling water, that was a bummer. breakfast was not included for the price, I thought it was. The bathrooms were dirty and very small, the dorm I was in was very small for the number of beds. No social events were organized. Wifi worked well and location was great. Overall it was just ok.

es un sitio lindo, algo apretado, no tiene mucho espacio para socializar más que una salita y unas mesas donde se puede trabajar o comer. me habían dicho que tenía desayuno buffet cuando me lo recomendaron pero al llegar no tenía. tristemente cobran R$20 por guardarte las maletas el dia de salida, y R$40 si adicional a eso quieres bañarte

Great location. About a 10-15 minute walk to apoadar beach with cafes all around. Not a social hostel. Was quite clean though. The dorm rooms r quite cramped though.

El lugar me parece a buen precio a cambio de lo que ofrecen, la ubicación es buena. El único detalle sería que las áreas comunes son muy pequeñas.

l’hostel est bien, tres bien placé entre ipanema et copacabana a l’entre du station de métro, inconvenient beaucoup de gadgets dans la chambre cassé porte papier toilette, pas de serviette a disposition, placard de rangement défaillant j’ai cru qu’on allait devoir cassé la porte car j’arrivais plus à l’ouvrir matelas dur, oreille pas confortable, beaucoup trop de non respect la nuit par les colocataires dans tout l’hostel trop de bruit

L’hostel est central, entre Copacabana et Ipanema. Il possède une petite terrasse et le personnel d’accueil est gentil. Mais si vous cherchez de la tranquillité, à fuir ! Les voyageurs sont jeunes, bruyants et peu respectueux. Entre 7:30 et 10:30 il est très difficile d’accéder à la cuisine car c’est l’heure du petit-dej de l’hostel. Le personnel ne se gêne donc pas TOUS LES JOURS pour faire remarquer que l’on gêne si on cuisine et qu’on ne paye pas ce dernier. Pas fou c...

Great location, Kevin was a great guide and the other staff were all very friendly and helpful!

The hostel is close to the Copacabana and especially the guys at the reception are amazingly friendly and helpful! The hostel organizes small activities. I extended my stay. Only thing: the rooms are very tiny and there is not a lot of place for example to dry clothes. Also the AC during the night is pretty cold. All in all: I definitely recommend staying here!

The hostel was very nice, modern and bright.It is located in a quiet area.Metro station, shopping facilities and Copacabana are within walking distance.The staff were all very helpful and friendly.Everyone speaks English.The hostel offers every activity carried out by a very nice volunteer.I was satisfied with my stay.

Great value for money in terms of Rio hostels. Seems very new, facilities are great here. Staff were lovely, I’m looking forward to staying again!

Good location, does the job, bathrooms not the cleanest but always hot water. Wish there were laundry facilities and better use of the kitchen. Augusto was great with activities and loved the caipirinha workshop! Breakfast was good but tea and coffee basically inaccessible after.

Super hostel, très propre, bien placé, le personnel est adorable et le petit déjeuner est très bon. Les dortoirs sont calmes et chacun y a son confort. Je recommande fortement !

The staff makes this Hostel a wonderful place to stay! All were helpful and had all needed knowledge to make your stay memorable! Cleanliness and the Breakfast was top notch! Night activities were fun and added flavor to the Hostel! I highly recommend this Hostel to everyone! I met the owner and she was very much interested in the needs of the Hostel Customers

La ubicacion es buena porque esta a unos metros del metro, aunque hay que caminar un poquito mas para la playa. Sistema de seguridad est muy buena. Senti que el lugar es limpio. Pero los cuartos en general tiene espacio. Lo que no me gusto era el hecho que las camas parecian fragiles. Tenia que dormir en la cama de arriba/bajar, y para subir no tenia donde agarrarme + si yo me movia, sentia que todo se movia y hacia riudo. Playa cerca, pero no taaaan cerca (para no no era un problema)

Incrível. Um local verdadeiramente familiar. Toda a gente super simpática e atenciosa. Amei. O pessoal da receção todo muito simpático. Gabriel 5 estrelas. Melhor hostel em que já fiquei.
