Marathon Hostel

Our stay at the marathon hostel was not enjoyable, the rooms were damp and had next to no lighting. The curtains were broken and the air conditioning in the rooms barely worked, the air quality throughout the hostel was appalling. During our stay my friend became ill from the cleanliness, so we checked out early. I do not recommend people to stay here. There was visible mould on the walls and in the bathrooms. I don’t usually leave bad reviews but felt it was necessary with this hostel.

Would not recommend to anyone. Flies in room and air conditioner leaked everywhere. Water in our bathroom (sink, shower, toilet) was brown/ yellow and smelt horrible to the point you couldn’t even shower. Communal kitchen water was also brown and communal fridge full of old food and flies. Washing machine system is awfull. We asked for tokens as the washing machine was not in use but was told at reception other guests still had the tokens and we must wait till there handed back. Staff unhelpfu...

The hostel had the wrong address in the confirmation email so I wasted time carrying my luggage to the wrong place in the heat. The bathrooms were not clean, the shower smelled of urine, the shower water pressure was nonexistent. The water would trickle out taking forever to wash my hair. For 2 days the hostel did not have full body towels. As a replacement they gave me two SHOWER MATS to use in the meantime. What am I paying all this money for???? Would not recommend. Definetlly not worth the Price!! It molds and stinks. When you enter the corridor to the rooms you can instantly smell the stinky smell. It’s really really discusting. We left earlier than we planned because we didin‘t feel comfortable in that Hostel!

The only positive thing I can say about this hostel is the location. It’s only a 10 min walk to Genova Bringole station. The shower was like some sort of torture technique! freezing cold 90% of the time then out of nowhere a burst of scolding hot water would come through so hot you had to jump out of the shower and wait 3 seconds before it was freezing again! School arrived one night, children screaming got zero sleep, then at 6 am they were screaming and running up and down the corridor

Horrible. Room wasn’t ready on time. When I told them my code didn’t work, they told me they’d “show me a trick” to get the door to open and then basically threw their body into the door. That’s how we had to open our door. Power went out more than once so no one could get in at that time without knocking at all hours of the night. I was told I would be refunded then when I told them I was uncomfortable sending bank info they completely stopped answering. Luggage room smelled awful ...

Hostel isn't clean. Because cleaning lady didn't clean very well. And she yelled at me when I had to use a toillet. You should clean upon the bed all...However, staffs are nice. Great location.

Poorly managed, bad wifi, staff was nice for the most part but there was a clear lack of communication between staff and overall my experience was poor. Staff changed the key code to my room during my stay without notifying me resulting in me getting locked out. I notified front desk that the laundry machine was broken after I paid for tokens to use it, they said they didn’t know how to fix it. I would not book here again

Impecable. Muy céntrico, muy limpio. Baño en perfecto estado. Justo cuando fui habían unos grupos de niños que fueron muy ruidosos en los pasillos, pero el resto genial. La atención y el desayuno muy bien.

Great place to stay in Genova! Within walking distance from the Brignole train station and also close to Porto Antico. Props to all the personnel who were very friendly and very helpful. Highly recommend.

Not the horror story many of the previous reviews made it out to be, but not too great either. No functional AC, and it would be awesome if the property fixed this rather than continuing to tell guests that they'll turn it on, only to then do nothing (previous reveiws mentioned it, and because it was impossibly loud with the windows open at night, I asked twice and was told the same thing). Staff was friendly enough (shout out Francesca) and bathrooms were decently clean but need exhaust fans.

Lovely staff and great bar/restaurant area. Clean rooms and good locker storage. The bathroom soap dispenser was empty the whole of my stay and the toilet didn’t flush properly but apart from that it was great:)

Loved my stay here!! there was live music in the bar at night, everywhere was clean and easy to use! will be coming back :)

Lit très confortable avec rideau. Salle de bain à l’extérieur avec toilette mais propre à notre chambre. Code d’accès sécurisé. Casier dans la chambre. Salle de sport, laverie gratuite, bar et restaurant au rez de chaussée de l’auberge. On se sent en sécurité!

Really good hostel, curtains, kitchen and bar downstairs so all you need. Just only one bathroom per room which can be a problem but not necessarily. Nice people just switched hostels after a night to get a cheaper one with free breakfast.

En general muy buen hostal. Ubicación, limpieza y atención del personal. Algo a destacar fue el desayuno de cortesía que es algo que se agradece para los que viajamos en low budget. Mi único inconveniente fue que mi locker debajo de la litera no funcionaba, no podía poner mi candado así que ahí solo puse la mochila con ropa. Volvería a hospedarme ahí.

Im Grossen und Ganzen ein tolles Hostel mit sehr guter Lage. Die Badezimmer waren nicht immer sauber.

Me gusto mucho, hay cierta privacidad, buen espacio, tan tohalla, el ambiente en el bar-restaurante es muy bueno. Bien ubicado, los baños quedan afuera de las habitaciones pero son espaciosos. Disfrute mi estancia

The AC is at a fixed temperature so the rooms get almost unbearably hot. The layout feels a bit like a prison, and the security doors stopped working during our stay, meaning anybody could walk into our room. The staff were pleasant but the communal spaces are lacking and so it isn't a very social hostel. The location is great though.

El hostal es perfecto. Tiene de todo, bar y restaurante, gimnasio, lavandería. Buen servicio y ubicación perfecta. Lo recomiendo 100%, además había muy buen ambiente en el hostal.

Wir fanden es sehr schön. Das Gym war deutlich besser als einige Hotelgyms und wurde von uns viel genutzt. Die Zimmer konnte man mit Codes betreten. Das war jedoch sehr umständlich und laut beim eintippen. Es gab viele Plätze, an denen man chillen konnte und wir waren sehr froh über die gut ausgestattete Küche.
