Jungle Hostel Koh Tao

We booked 6 nights, left after 1 due to false advertising. The 4-bed en-suite dorm was a box inside the 12-bed room, the door didn't shut never mind lock and our toilet was not in our room, it was out in main area inevitably shared. No security, no key and unlocked doors 24/7. In my bed beside my head had a sliding window into 12 bed dorm that wouldn't lock. The outdoor area didn’t match photos, and construction noise started early. overall cleanliness was poor. Not worth it.

Worst hostel I have ever stayed. Avoid at all costs. Horrible facilities with extremely rude staff and still under construction. Manager has anger issues and is very controlling and condescending. Would never stay here again.

Constant construction and drilling early in the morning, at one point no running water as everyones waking up. They installed drywall above the showers and toilets yet did not account for lighting. wouldnt call it a party hostel nothing went on at night. Far to get to and far to walk back to at night. beds uncomfortable.

Hostel was dirty and really far out. Wasn’t even cheap, basically same price as main hostels in the centre. Thankfully managed to change hostels after one night. The staff were nice, a bit rude on arrival, but after that okay. Seeing previous reviews they get very defensive about any negative comments, so looking forward to what they come up with here. Would not recommend this hostel, even if it’s the only one available on the island.

Definitely not worth the money! We booked a 4bed dorm with private bathroom, but the room was inside a 12bed dorm and the bathroom was shared with everyone. The room was tiny, dirty and smelly, with no lockers, hooks or room key to lock the door. Bathroom was filthy and sink didn’t drain properly, cold water in the morning. No AC control in room. Staff was unhelpful, didn’t arrange the promised taxi in the morning because no one was at reception. You can find much nicer places for 25€ the ...

A private room that smells like wet dog, and the cleanliness leaves much to be desired. I didn’t even dare to sleep in the bed without putting a towel underneath. Construction work right next to the room woke us up at 8 a.m. with hammering in our ears, without any prior warning. Considering the price of the room at €80 per night for two people, this is unacceptable. I do not recommend this hostel, even though the hosts are very kind.

I thought this was overpriced for what it was. Almost $25/night for a tent in the middle of everything (I thought it would be in a more secluded spot) is too much. I booked this place because it was off the main strip so I could guarantee quiet after 10pm (the listed quiet hours), but in actuality it is extremely loud til at least 2am every night. The first day I arrived, 4 of the 5 sinks stopped working, and they were not fixed for several days. Water and toilet paper are not always restocked.

We were really disappointed. The 4-bed dorm we booked was actually part of a 14-bed room, so we were moved to a 6-bed one. No main light, broken sink, shower spraying the wall, hard mattresses, and noisy weak A/C. The ceiling even COLLAPSED one morning—no apology or concern from staff. The receptionist was kind, but overall it felt unsafe and poorly managed. Probably not ready to open yet. You can easily find a better and safer place elsewhere.

Please stay away from this hostel. It was awfully dirty, the air conditioning was sooo cold and they got me a thin blanket like a paper The bed and pillows were the worst so uncomfortable seriously I started feeling really sick after staying here, and people coughed a lot from the ac

Grate stay everyone was so lovely and Mia and lilli were amazing it’s a little out the way but in such a way where it’s super easy to get to everything you want and be able to escape the chaos and just relax and honestly the best AC I have experienced.

i have really enjoyed my stay here!! the showers and the ac are amazing and i loved the changing rooms. The reps lilli, lara and mia were so lovely and the atmosphere is so nice family dinner every night for 30bht is great!

Ignore the bad reviews this place if perfect for the jungle party and has ongoing renovations to make it better and better the owner staff are legendary especially Mia John and Aeem.

Amazing service and great food, I really enjoyed my stay at jungle hostel. All the staff are very helpful and kind and the facilities have everything you need. The only thing I found was the air conditioning was controlled by the staff and the rooms would get a bit warm and it would be turned off from 12-4 even if people are still in the rooms. Overall good stay for the price.

Underrated hostel! Clean and spacious dorms with loads of nice showers. Staff were always super helpful and jungle pre’s was fun. The walk to sairee isn’t too bad at all and good to be away from the noise

Class hostel unreal food, Aeem on the bar and Mia the rep were both lovely as well

Only a 15 min walk from the main bit of koh Tao John the owner is dead sound rooms are comfy and clean enough

what a hidden gem! definitely worth more than its score. it has hairdryers and big makeup mirrors! best showers i’ve ever had in a hostel food was really good too will definitely stay here every time i come to koh tao

Had such a lovely stay here. The staff are super helpful and it is only a short walk to the beach.

Overall we had a great stay in jungle hostel! John and all the staff were really attentive and helpful! clean rooms, recently renovated and some pretty decent english food! the dogs are adorable and the atmosphere is chill-party with some good value drinks packages. don’t be fooled by thinking it’s further away than some of the main hostels, it’s less than a 10 minute walk and with a ped takes genuinely 1 minute for the price deffo worth it, would 100% stay again :)

Great stay! The staff were very friendly and the owner was very welcoming as well. Everything was kept very clean, with staff always maintaining the space. The location is convenient yet quiet at night , making it a perfect place to stay. definitely recommend!

This was the best hostel I stayed at on koh Tao after being there 5 months!! They have such a social vibe there, so easy to meet people and plenty of solo travellers that turned into big groups by the end of our stays. They have loads of rainfall showers and beds are super comfy. Loads of comfy seating too - hammocks and sofas! They just added some paddling pools aswell to deal with the heat!! Staff are so attentive and the owner always makes an effort to make sure everything is okay.

John was really great and very friendly

I love Jungle hostel! It’s clean. There’s loads of new facilities. The staff are amazing. And I will definitely come here again. The atmosphere of the place is really welcoming and I met some of my best friends here that I will probably know forever. Short walk from Sairee if you don’t drive is a plus ++ 10/10
