Tsukimi Hotel

I had no sleep… I was suppose to stay in this hostel for 5 nights but after the first night I checked out. I was staying at the women’s dorm. The pods were way too hot and noisy, everytime someone went to the bathroom you could hear them. The lights in the dorm didn’t go out until midnight and one of the women in my dorm was still blowdrying her hair in the bathroom until 1.00am, which you could also clearly hear in the dorm. It was way too hot in the sleeping pods. The air conditioning was not working. The toilets where dirty and unclean all the time.

Fairly good but probably overpriced, nothing special

Location was amazing, it was very clean. It felt not as functional as I would have liked. The luggage area was cramped and hard to use, many things like the shower racks felt cheap and were hard to use and not break/ knock off. You have to use basically toilet paper to dry your hands. This place has everything you'll need and the location is unbeatable for the price though.

Pretty good hostel. Felt more sterile and less “minimalistic”, but it was still a nice stay. The pods were spacious and comfortable, even if the floor in front got cluttered due to lack of storage in the room, and how busy it was. But the washrooms were good and clean. Nice and very young staff.

Decent hostel with friendly staff, good facilities & good location. But for a capsule hotel I’d say it’s pretty expensive. In general, I’d recommend just avoiding capsule (coffin) hotels. In every other capsule hotel I’ve stayed in, the lights in the rooms goes out after like 9pm, but with this hotel it goes off after 12:30am so it’s really annoying to have light seeping through your entrance and I feel like it incentives people to be abit louder at night since the lights are on.

Good location and when I was there the atmosphere was fantastic; I met some great people. The staff were excellent, always super helpful and they'll even bake you cookies. Security was fine and so were facilities. 10-3 cleaning time for the showers was a little annoying but it makes sure you make the most of your holiday I guess. Only other complaint is that it was a little pricey. Still very good though.

Fantastic location, comfortable and clean rooms, decent price. Not much of an atmosphere. Overall, good property. Note that what the hotel does not disclose in their property details prior to booking is that they ask you to leave the property from 10am to 3pm every day, and the showers are not available at all. I find it off-putting to be asked to leave your accommodations for 1/3 of the day.

The vibe is fine here, if you don’t mind waking up to find people have moved your stuff and taken your slippers. It’s kinda sterile, and while the place is pretty clean, the bathroom always smells like urine.

Most hotel-feeling hostel I’ve stayed in while in Japan. Located just near the downtown area with lots of bars and restaurants and just around the corner from a big temple and park. It was relatively expensive, but everything else was completely booked (Sakura season) so I spent more money on a hostel than I’d have liked to but in retrospect I’m ok with the price given the cleanliness and comfort of the hostel.

Staff were the nicest people ever. The hostel itself was kept incredibly clean and was super cool. I would definitely stay here again

Incredible first hostel experience in Japan! Staff are extremely kind, welcoming, attentive, caring and helpful. Social space makes for great social atmosphere. I’d always say the space can only facilitate social interactions so much, you also have to be willing to spark conversations! Some of the best hostels and best staff I have seen. Great location, great vibe, very clean and convenient. Rules are fair and reasonable. The shodo workshop I signed up for was one of the most fun things I did in my Japan trip. Very fun but respectable vibe.

10/10, nothing to complain about. Beds were comfy, bathrooms and all the hostel was really clean, the location of the hostel is perfect and everyone (incluiding people staying) was really friendly.

Favourite hostel I've ever stayed at! Comfy beds, clean facilities, amazing staff. There's a place to airdry clothes. The lockers fit a carry-on backpack and there is a safe in the bunk. Temperature was comfortable. The shoe lockers have space for 2 pairs of shoes. It was quiet and safe. The location is in the heart of Gion. 5 mins walk to main tourist spots, 5 to 7/11, 5 to buses, 15 to the shopping district. All beautiful walks too. Absolutely incredible. Es un buen hostal, tipo “cápsula” pero acogedor, el personal es muy atento y grabable. El detalle,como todo Japón, es el espacio para maniobrar maletas o acomodarlas. Es un espacio agradable, limpio y acogedor.

I LOVEDDD MY STAY HERE!! The staff were so lovely and helpful. The facilities are clean and well maintained. I loved the fresh towels every day. Location was great too, walking distance to heaps of popular sightseeing places. Not the most social hostel during my stay but highly recommend nonetheless!!

Lovely minimalist place in the most beautiful part of Kyoto. An absolute dream to wake up and walk around Gion.

Sencillamente uno de los mejores hostales en los que me he hospedado: Limpio, moderno, seguro y con una ubicación inmejorable en Kioto. El personal es súper amable, las camas estaban impecables. Cuenta con una cocina bastante conveniente. También tienen lavadora y secadora en la terraza, en la cual también disfrutarás de una excelente vista de Kioto. Por ultimo el staff fue muy amable todo el tiempo, incluso nos dieron a probar una bebida tradicional de durazno que estaba deliciosa.

Really nice place, definitely a quieter atmosphere. Staff were friendly, place was clean and organized. Also felt very secure as you need a key card to access the rooms.
