Bad Monkey Samui Hostel

Worst hostel we’ve ever stayed in. Dirty, full of flies in the room, and no proper doors or locks—literally anyone can walk in. They claim there’s “security” but that’s a joke. There were escorts/prostitutes staying there, and one was even in our room. AC didn’t work so we had to change rooms, then we got woken up at 5 AM because they needed to move someone else staff was very very rude, they also charged us more money and. Don’t go there

This place isnt super clean and the beds are springy. You also have to pay to use the pool tables downstairs. They do have nice staff and fun things every night for the bar but there high rating is from getting people to put 5 stars to get 25% off at the bar

the hostel gave free accommodation to strippers, so every night there were women getting ready ar night…also there was no security, all lock boxes were broken..charva demographic….be careful

Location is so perfect if you are into the social, partying scene but not ideal if you aren’t. It’s 6 minutes from the beach too. However the hostel itself isn’t very social, no events or group hostel activities — it could really benefit from this because there was a very awkward atmosphere with all the travelers not talking to one another. Bathrooms could use a makeover and a good clean. The dorm rooms do not have locks on the door making one feel extremely unwell. AC was blowing into ones face, especially for those sleeping in a top bunk. There is only a lounge area outside next to the reception and not inside the building. Doesn't exactly promote socializing. I don't like the concept of the wrist bands. I understand it is worn so that the security can identify you but this way the whole Island knows where you're staying. S

This Hostel is an absolute money bait!! they work together with the bar right below and it is so stupidly expensive and you pay on top for everything!!! 1hour pool is 100 bhat but then they make you pay a service fee and then they tell you afterwards that you have to buy something to drink in order to be allowed to play!! also the „free bbq“ is one super tiny burger so everything is a moneygrab.

Ungemütliche Betten, dazu wird auf site mit Pool und Billard geworben. Diese sind kein Teil des Hostels, sondern andere Geschäfte des Eigentümers. Für beides fallen versteckte kosten an. Es gibt keinen wirklichen Gemeinschaftsbereich, leider von der Atmosphäre nicht wirklich angenehm.

Clean orderly hostel with friendly staff. Great showers with water pressure. Clean dark cold rooms with curtains. Common area is a bit lacking with only a few places to sit. And minimal shade. You are also directly over a bar so it can sometimes be loud if you sleep earlier. Overall fantastic stay, great place to sleep.

Overall really good. The bathrooms are massive and have separate showers and toilets. The rooms were basic and fine and had lockers for your bags. There’s also a social area outside where u can also hang washing. Great location near shops, bars and beach. However, if u plan on sleeping don’t bother. The beds felt like we were sleeping on the streets and had us tossing and turning just so we didn’t have a spring in our hips. Activities int he evening and Tuesdays girls drink for free!

Goed hostel, fijne atmosfeer en vriendelijk personeel. Snachts beveiliging al kunnen de deuren van de dorms niet op slot. Kluisjes en badkamers zijn top en veel aanwezig! Bedden zijn daarin tegen oncomfortabel, je voelt de vering en het hele bed piept bij elke beweging. Ook zijn de dekens super klein wat slapen koud maakte.

Niet het beste hostel voor een solo-reiziger. Er worden niets van activiteiten vanuit het hostel geregeld. Faciliteiten werken niet naar behoren. Heel veel last van nachtlawaai gehad door uitgaansbuurt en luide mensen op straat. Hier kan het hostel niets aan doen en dit wist ik niet op voorhand, maar wou dit toch meedelen.

Die Matratzen waren eine Katastrophe ansonsten war es social und Personal war lieb

No complaints, only reason we left was that the top bunks aren’t super private and don’t get dark. Staff was lovely and social atmosphere and good food nearby. Right by a shopping center

Dorm beds are uncomfortable. Other than that place was great. Good atmosphere, great location. Good value

Smelly, grotty and literally anyone could walk in and straight into your dorm as there were no locks. Woke up one night with a man at my bed asking for money then woke up the next morning with him naked with the curtains open and no blanket. Bathrooms really nice but not clean. Smelt like feet everywhere but the location was great

Great hostel

The whole place just smelled like weed and cigarettes which was really unpleasant, the beds were the squeaky things ever, couldn’t even roll over without waking up the whole dorm it was awful!

Good hostel! Big lockers, all the luggage fit. Nice hangout areas, may toilets and showers. Beds are not very comfortable
