En llegar nos comunicaron que las dos noches que habíamos reservado, para 3 personas, serían cada noche en una habitación distinta. Que la causa por esa situación era por nuestra reserva de ultima hora. Desde ese momento ya sentimos que eramos tratados de manera impersonal y por su beneficio propio. Las duchas estaban muy sucias (esponjas personales colgando de todas las llaves de agua, hasta un envoltorio de preservativo en medio de la ducha). La piscina superior, tenía el agua densa y tur...
Upon arrival we were informed that the two nights we had booked, for 3 people, would be in a different room each night. that the cause for this situation was our last minute reservation. from that moment on we already felt that we were being treated impersonally and for their own benefit. the showers were very dirty (personal sponges hanging from all the water keys, even a condom wrapper in the middle of the shower). the upper pool, had the water dense and murky.
Laziest staff I have ever seen, I have travelled all over the world. Including many Selina locations. Anything you ask them they act as though it is a nuisance. The receptionist did not want to get up to show the room or the property. Food in restaurant took over 30+ min to get and I was the only one there. And they got my order wrong. Showers are disgusting. No hot water. Toilets don’t flush. No one advises ppl to not put toilet paper in toilet. Everything floating in the toilet multiple time...
Pretty bad but not expensive anyway. But not even having locks for the showers is crazy. Didnt have curtains and couldnt plug my phone in. The vibe is pretty sh*t aswell. The location and price are good tho!
The few positives: Location is convenient, staff is nice and the AC worked. Other than that this Selina is pretty awful. Everything is falling apart. We paid for the nicest private room and it was a disaster. Curtain rods holding on for their life, holes in all the curtains, rat poop in the bathroom, like 15 lizards living in the room with us. Communal facilities the same. Lounge chair covers covered in bird poop, pool neglected for what looks like 15 years. It’s just in a sad sad sha...
The room they gave us was filled with mold and had no ac. We spent one night there until they told us later that the room had been closed off for months due to the mold and we seemed to be the first ones to sleep there… They changed our rooms but the mold still was present in the other room. Honestly skip if you like a good place to stay.
Tienen chinches en las camas, además sábanas y fundas de almohadas con manchas
They have bed bugs in the beds, plus sheets and pillowcases with stains
I wouldn’t recommend the Selina for travellers. It is far from the tourist areas and you can’t swim in the beach outside the hostel. There weren’t any international travellers staying when we were there so it was hard to meet people. Staff weren’t happy to be asked questions.
Ai, I was here 1.5 year ago and a week ago again and the difference couldn’t have been bigger. Before it was fantastic, now it was the worst. Especially the workers: they are just rude and don’t care AT ALL. Besides that, they don’t do any activities to make it more like a social place so overhere everyone just focus on themselves. Also, in the kitchen is NO cuttelery: In total 1 knife and 2 forks? Come onnnn Selina, you know better than this. There was also a scorpion in my room
If you're looking for ✨️no sleep✨️ this is your place. If it's not the party at the hostel, then the bar on the other side of the street is playing music until 3am. And afterwards you can rely on the noise from the road or the dogs barking. The huts do not have any sound insulation, so whatever is going on you're gonna be a part of it. Nice facilities outside of the room. Was not super crowded in february 2026. Close to Playa Zicatela. Food was decent although a bit more expensive than outside the facility.
Stayed in a private room, very nice. The pool and bar areas were very pretty. Great location between Punta and the center of puerto.
Terrible este hostel. Creo que nunca habia estado en un hostel con tan mala atmósfera. Todo descuidado, staff cero atentos. No hay cafe en la mañana, no hay toallas ni si quiera las rentan. No te ofrecen informacion de ningun tipo ni te explican los servicios del hostel. Sucio y falta de mantenimiento. Normal que los huespedes solo se queden una noche y salgan corriendo
This hostel is terrible. i think i've never been in a hostel with such a bad atmosphere. all carelessness, staff zero attention. no coffee in the morning, no towels or if you want to rent them. they don't offer you any information or explain the hostel services. dirty and lack of maintenance. normal for guests to only stay one night and run away
Excelente ubicación. No tiene coicna. si vas solo tiene algunas actividades para que puedas socializar.
It's a great location, no strings attached, and if you're going solo, it has some activities for you to socialize with.

Tiene buena ubicación, el personal es amable, hay agua caliente y AC, no hay ambiente ni actividades para socializar, donde se inserta el candado para cerrar el locker estaba roto así que no servía de nada usar candado, no rentan toallas ni dan informes sobre más actividades
It has a good location, the staff is friendly, there is hot water and air conditioning, no environment or activities to socialize, where you insert the lock to close the locker was broken so it would not help anything to use a lock, no rent towels nor to report on further activities

This is one of my favourite hostels. There are two pools, it feels more like a village than a hostel. It’s really beautiful and just on the beach.
Pool was wonderful. Honestly everything else was ok. No atmosphere for solo travellers and no help for booking trips etc. extremely expensive drinks. And sooooo many flys in my bed I could cry
We had a lovely stay at Selina. The 2 pools and chill out areas were really nice and it had a very beachy feel with the sea views and palm trees which was lovely. You can’t swim on the beach opposite but it seemed normal and was still a good location easy to get taxis, combis to other beaches and walkable to lots of restaurants/bars. Only thing would be the floors get quite dirty in the dorms and bathrooms but wasn’t that much of an issue.

Das Hostel ist sehr gut gelegen, man kann alles fussläufig erreichen (Bar, Restaurants, Strand, Geschäfte). Der Preis ist auch angemessen. Allerdings ist das Hostel selbst nicht wirklich einladet. Der Pool wird nicht wirklich in Stand gehalten, es gibt nicht genügend liegen/ Stühle, die Zimmer sind sehr dunkel und wirken schon seit langem stehen gelassen, das Wasser aus dem Hahn ist komisch. Für eine oder zwei Nächte in Ordnung.
The hostel is very well located, you can reach everything within walking distance (Bar, Restaurants, Beach, Shops). The price is also reasonable. However, the hostel itself is not really inviting. The pool is not really kept in Stand, there are not enough beds/chairs, the rooms are very dark and seem to have been left standing for a long time, the water from the faucet is funny. For one or two nights in Ordnung.
Yeah the best hostal in zicatela, i meet a lot a lovely people there, is terrific!!!
