Their staff were not knowledgeable, and snob. Absolutely ruined my stay in Puerto Escondido. The property smells of cat sh*t 24x7! It was a terrible experience, and made my trip bitter.

I hated it here. I booked 2 days and stayed for 1 and left at 8 am the next morning. The room was HOT. I mean super hot. They turned on the ac but it did nothing. It was miserable. The toilet was also basically in the shower. It was just a miserable 7 hrs I spent there and I’m so glad I left. Leaving early tired and walking the streets until I could check in at my next place at 2 pm was a way better option.

Ok place , the vibe wasn’t really good maybe because the place is too big , they charge for the activities and extra wifi , also bit far from the beaches or places to hangout.

This was my least favorite hostel in Mexico. The ambiance felt a little bit weird. There where a lot of long-term guests/staff staying there. They where not very welcoming to new guests and came across very cliquey. Especially in the kitchen area it almost felt like I was visiting someone else's home. Because of this I was glad to leave. At the reception the staff was friendly and welcoming I must say. I liked the location of the hostel. It was in a more local area.

This hostel was…kind of weird. No community vibes going on that we encountered. Everyone was kinda closed off and doing their own thing. I think it had to do with it being separated into two hostels but everyone having access to both, so there was no central hang out space. Security was pretty good and the staff were nice, though I didnt have too much interaction. Facilities fine, shouldnt advertise bikes if none of them work. Rooms super hot until ac comes on at 9pm.

Didn’t like the vibe in the hostal, travellers were not open to connect with other people. Staff wasn’t super friendly or helpful, just hangover when we arrived. A lot of people just stay in the hostel to chill with themselves. The 8 dorm was a bit small for all your staff and quite warm because of no AC. Location was a bit out of the way of beach, main beach is more than 30mins walking. The promised bikes were old and couldn’t be used to bike uphill.

Had a really great stay! The staff were great and lots of good activity opportunities. However there were (biting) ants in some of the bunk beds and the bathroom sink smelt of sewage.

Chose here because of the wooden beds shown in the booking photo to avoid squeaky bunk beds, but the room was not as advertised and we're metal and squeaky. My bed/head were right next to the very loud sliding door that people came in and out of constantly between 3-7am and I did not sleep at all that night. Fans were broken, I was laying in a puddle of sweat and SO MANY BUGS. Did not have the same bug issues at other Puerto hostels. Absolutely miserable.

The communal areas weren’t kept up very well, there were overgrown plants and leaves everywhere downstairs and on the terraces. There were so many volunteers staying that it felt like they took over the common areas most of the time and they weren’t very welcoming or friendly unless they were trying to sell us an overpriced activity. Super Atmosphäre

I was travelling for over 13 months and this hostel is really one of the best hostels i have ever stayed in. Great staff, good location and a beautiful rooftop where you can spend a lot of time. Thank you for the great time!

What a positive and fun experience this was. The space was chill and dynamic. If puerto wasn’t as fun as it was I could hangout at the hostel all day. The staff was a joy. Dianna, Isabella, ivy, and Luka, you guys all made my trip memorable, thank you!

Todo el lugar es bastante tranquilo y bien ambientado, para todo tipo de viajero, desde el más viajero hasta el primerizo. En general su personal es muy agradable y cálido. Me encantaron las dinámicas, es una buena oportunidad para poder conectar con otros viajeros y hacer buenas amistades. Sin duda recomendaré el lugar y volveré. All the hostel is very good place for any kind of traveler, even if it’s your first trip.

Dear traveller, my experience in the hostel was amazing. The volunteers were nice and welcoming. I wish there were more bathrooms, bigger lockers and ac. There are many places to socialize - big table in the kitchen and a tv room. There are many fun activities like sunset picnick and salsa night by Diana was really cool. 🌮🏄🏼‍♂️🐢

We had a really nice day in this hostel. The staff was very nice, helpful and welcoming. Many activities were offered and we enjoyed nice moments with the staff members and other guests. This hostel offers high-quality coffee and very good bar service (Shout out to Francesco!) This is in our opinion one of the best hostel we have stayed at , definitely would recommend.

I loved my stay in La Escondida! The place was very clean and chill. They have a lot of events throughout the week which helps with socializing. Diana was very helpful with check-in and throughout my stay! Karina helped me with my check-out and made sure everything went smoothly.

Had a lovely stay! When I arrived Ivi gave me a tour of the place and they had a locked luggage room to store my bags until checkin time. Katie was also very helpful with checkout and reccomendations! - Close to food options and a market - Kitchen with everything needed to make your own food - Nice common areas have shade, breeze and places to sit and relax - Chill but social vibe with activities such as kareoke night and beer tasting - 20min walk to the beach for swimming and beginner surfing

La Escondida is an absolute gem! The dorm and bathroom were spotless, with impeccable cleanliness. The kitchen is very well-equipped, perfect for cooking with fresh produce from the local market just steps away. Super cute place to hang and chill. Loved the roof area with hammocks and sofa. Kitchen was missing some basics and floor, sofas could have needed a good cleaning. My room was fine but also not the newest nor cleanest bathroom & walls. Would recommend anyway :)

Buen lugar, muy cerca de todos los servicios y las playas más populares. La mayoría son personas extranjeras entonces casi no se hacen amigos de otros estados de México.

I mean it’s good but I really expected much more traveler’s atmosphere. The staff are made by volunteers:) it’s nice but not really a lot going on. Also, because it’s in the upper side of the center, during the night everything is closed. Anyway it’s okay just to stay for a while.

lovely hostel! the staff was very kind, welcoming, fun and helpful and there was a lot of fun activities aswell as a great atmosphere. the only problem was that there were no air conditioning although it said so when booking, but the staff, the rooftop area and nearby beach weight op for that, and we loved it
