The most concerning issue during my stay was waking up with multiple bites, which strongly suggests there may currently be a bed bug problem. This immediately made the room feel uncomfortable and raised concerns about overall cleanliness. Another major issue was the lack of any secure luggage storage. After asking where I could leave my suitcase following checkout, I was told to leave it in an open corner of the reception area. This space is accessible to anyone walking in and out, and the reception is not always staffed, so this did not feel safe at all. The attitude of the staff was also disappointing. When I raised concerns, the response felt dismissive and unhelpful. I asked if there were any alternatives or if a manager could assist, but nothing was followed up, and it seemed like there was very little willingness to help. The room itself did not match the photos shown online, which was misleading. In addition, the walls are extremely thin, so noise travels very easily between rooms. There was also significant noise from a nearby venue, with loud music in the evening and into the night, making it difficult to sleep. Combined with the thin walls, this made it almost impossible to get proper rest. The air conditioning also stopped working during the night, which made the situation even more uncomfortable. Overall, between the hygiene concerns, lack of security, poor staff attitude, and constant noise, this was not an enjoyable stay and I would not choose to stay here again.

The most serious issue with this property is the complete lack of secure luggage storage, which is unacceptable. When I asked where I could leave my suitcase after checkout, I was told to leave it in an open corner of the reception area. This space is fully accessible to the public, with people constantly walking in and out, and the reception is not consistently staffed. This means anyone could easily take luggage without being noticed. For any hotel or hostel, this is a basic responsibility, and the absence of even minimal security is extremely concerning. The staff were also unhelpful and dismissive. The receptionist showed no willingness to assist and appeared uninterested. I politely asked for the manager to come and speak with me — I was told they would come to my room, but they never did. Instead, I received a generic message on Booking.com asking what my issue was, despite already explaining everything in person. The room does not match the photos online, which is misleading. There are also hygiene concerns. I woke up with multiple bites on my legs, suggesting possible bedbugs. Another major issue is the extreme noise levels from a nearby venue, which make it very difficult to sleep. Loud music can be heard clearly from the room in the evening and continues into the night. This is not minor background noise — it is intrusive and disruptive to the point where proper rest is not possible. There is no soundproofing, and no warning about this when booking. Additionally: The air conditioning stopped working during the night, making the situation even more uncomfortable The bathroom sink is loose and unstable, which feels unsafe Overall, the lack of basic security, poor service, misleading listing, and inability to sleep due to noise make this a place I would not recommend. I will also be reporting these concerns to Booking.com.

Avoid at all costs - very distressing experience: unsafe, got bed bugs 😱, it’s very noisy, most unhelpful and unfriendly staff (unlike Vietnamese 🥺) I had the worse experience at the Backpacker Hotel in 3 months of travelling within SE Asia and 1 month of travelling in Vietnam. I booked this place for 5 nights and I didn’t like it from the start but I wanted to avoid the hassle of moving. Had to check out after 3 nights because I got bitten overnight and got bed bugs!! The staff were very unhelpful to me 🥹 I let them on a Saturday when I was at the beach about me having to check out because of bed bugs and told me they were going to refund me for the remaining nights if I check out by 12pm (which was in less than one hour). It’s bad enough that I am the one suffering, having to move out (so cut down my free day & pack, wasting hours and extra money) that they also pressure me to leave in their own timeframe. They would not support me in any way. When I asked to speak to the manager they told me she does not work today. No alternative solution, absolutely nothing. As I said I had issues with them from the start: when I arrived the receptionist asked me for my passport immediately as I came out of the taxi (ie was on the street with all my bags) - how “friendly”. I also got told off for washing my face and using a towel and got sent a picture with a “stain” I had caused on their towel - they’re very particular about their towels! They have construction noise outside which can start as early at 7am. There’s a small (but mighty!) pop up kiosk selling alcohol outside with loud music until after 12am. You can also hear everything the neighbours do are say, including flushing their toilet. One early morning I got someone pounding really hard at my door at 5.30am, very scary and distressing - I asked the staff to look into it, they haven’t. The room is soo small there was barely room for me to leave my luggage. I used their laundry service and the clothes didn’t smell clean at all, and they still charged me for it. Ah it was also returned late - when I asked about when I would receive, the staff was more concerned with playing their video game on the phone than helping me. They supposedly have a restaurant - I tried to use it one day but it was closed. I had a bad foot and couldn’t walk much that day, they just shrugged and offered no assistance or alternative solution. So avoid avoid avoid. It’s not even that cheap compared to what it offers. When I looked for a new place I could see better options within similar price range and I got a 4 star hotel with a rooftop pool for a few more dollars/ night.
