Bedway Athens Hostel

« CRITICAL WARNING: BEDBUGS. Found bedbugs during my last night. I sent photos of the bugs via WhatsApp the exact second I found them. The hostel did nothing, and I had to spend the whole night at the reception desk (I even sent them photos of myself stranded there) before catching an early flight. It has been a whole month now, and management is completely ghosting my messages despite the irrefutable live proof I provided. Disgusting hygiene and zero respect for guests. Avoid at all costs! » ils ignorent mes email et relance à plusieurs reprises ainsi que message whatsapp pour le remboursement suite à la sécouverte des punaise de lit dans mon lit et que j ai dû passer la nuit à la recption malgré la jpurnée chargée que j ai passé ce jour là ainsi que le lendemain car j avais de vols à prendre un le matin trés tot et l autre vraiment le soir ! au lieu de me reposer et dormir dans un lit, je lai passée à la réception ! j ai demandé un remboursement mais cela fait preque 1 mois que j ai quitté l auberge ( 31 mai 2026) il n em ont répondu qu une seule fois par un refus mais depuis ils repondent plus ni à mes plusieurs mails ni sur whatsapp ! ignorance total

My bed had bedbugs and i unfortunately left the hotel full of bedbugs bites

Only sad that I did not book this place first and avoid the trouble with Central Hostel. No Cons at this place.

Toilets and showers only on 2nd floor, great if you have to get up in the middle of the night Lift is only in operation when they remember to switch it on and is mainly used as mobile maid's cart, turned off for "Safety reasons" when reception leaves at 18:00 (safety = save money) Literally no social spaces other than a tiny kitchen, three benches in the lobby and a courtyard surrounded by prison walls, painted a cheery gray to drive the point home Duvet covers not changed between guests ("but we supply a top sheet") - gross No room locks - door always open if dorm mates are typical "born in the barn" types who then also leave overhead lights on Mattresses on 4th floor poor, on 3rd floor very good Generally, there are much better hostels in Athens at comparable prices Recommended only for young backpack tourists and day laborers needing cheap accommodation -

A pretty decent hostel, rooms were cheap and there were no bedbugs thankfully. Showers were great but you need to bring your own towels and soaps. An amazing restaurant around two minutes walk away too. They can wash clothes for you and there’s a kitchen to store and cook any food you have while you’re there. The rooms are nice and have good light and plugs beside each bed, the lockers are big enough for your luggage and they have a steady lock so nothing should get taken. Only downside was the noise from the street but some good earbuds should solve that There are bus routes and a small tram service in walking distance too.

BED BUGS... I stayed there for 4 nights, woke up after the 2nd night with about 40 bites on both my legs up to my thighs. Since my trip was short I tried to go out the 3 day despite the itchiness. Couldn't sleep the last two nights due to the bite spots being extremely itchy and painful, also because of the anxiety that they could appear and bite me again anytime. I asked them to give me new sheets but bed bugs can literally live anywhere near your bed, under the mattress, in the cracks of wall... They refunded my stay fully. I write this while trying hard not to scratch the spots. Have to take antibiotics. Put all the stuffs into the washing machine right the moment I got home.
