Hostel Pisa Tower

Bed bugs – three bad nights and terrible sleep. Strange people in my room kept going in and out, talking loudly at 3 a.m. I’ve never slept so badly for so many days, and the bed bugs made my whole body itch all day. It was never quiet. The staff were very sweet but didn’t let me change rooms, saying there might be weird people in the next one too – which, to be fair, made some sense.

Bathrooms are just terrible, drains clogged, facilities are disgustingly dirty, stinky mats on floor. The whole place is filled with toxic unpleasant smell similar to chemicals against bedbugs that people mentioned before in reviews. Won’t recommend for more than 1 night stay. Hostel has a good potential, but no investment to better facilities leads to poor quality especially in hygiene.

I wish no one would stay in this place unless it is fumigated. The bedrooms have bedbugs and the bathrooms are mouldy. The only good thing is the location.

The bed had bed bugs, even though I was only there for one night, I ended up getting some bites.

There was so many bed bugs in our room - the 4 bedroom female room. So many bed bugs that I had to share another single bed with my friend because my bed had so many busg on it and crawling around the walls. Also, the private bathroom we had in the 4 bedroom room was broken and din't flush. It was not clean and I would not recommend this place for anyone else.

No close bus stop But we are in historic area ,so it's normal I was generally absolutely satisfied ,I was able to sleep well. Cleanliness is very important for me but it was spotless. My little bedlight doesn't work , but it's okay. My roommate was very respectful.

There was black mold on the ceiling in the bathroom and the room was noticeably dirty. The door to the female dorm was accessible with a key, but was often left unlocked by other travellers, and was right next to the front door. The bed had bed bugs. Only book this hostel if you are desperate. It's a 20 minute walk from Pisa Central train station so this made it inconvenient to access the airport train. No atmosphere. I wish I had paid 10€ more for a decent room elsewhere.

I got very bad bed bug bite, it's so itchy and swollen therefore it ruined my trip. Hostel pisa tower, you need to wash the blankets especially the one thick and red blankets above the cabinets. And the place didn't have power during some part of my stay which made very uncomfortable stay.

Nice place to stay with very central location from the Pisa leaning tower side! But the cleaning very poor, even not basic to my opinion and most likely got bed bugs there. Stayed only for 1 night but enough to get to unpleasant situations like this...

Bed bugs :/ And the staff ignored me when I told them. No compensation whatsoever, not even a message saying they are sorry. I didn’t sleep in the room due to many many bed bugs

Perfect location right next to the leaning tower and near one of the train stations (not the main). However the sheets had holes in them and I'm pretty positive I have bedbug bites from staying here.

NOT RECOMMENDED! Beds have bed BUGS! I was staying in Monalisa room and in the morning one girl found a hug bed bug on her pillow. Then we checked my bed and the mattress was disgusting! However, they really tried to hide it! Even though this hostel is in the nice location, I advise not to go if you don’t want to be bitten and might transfer those bugs to your home!!! They didn’t care at all once I told them about the problem. I also got bites on my body.

Well, I am wondering how this hostel managed to get this misleading score on Booking.com when there are considerable number of bed bugs all over the room! It was close to midnight that I arrived; I was in Monalisa room. I was lucky that the another guy in the room was still awake and offerred me to turn on the light if I want. And that was the moment we saw bed bugs all over the wall parading! At that time we could not reach out anyone from the hostel, so we just left and found a close hotel to stay overnight. Next morning we went back and contacted the owner. He seemed to be very sorry and wanted to reimburse asap, but it seems that he easily forgot abouy it, and is not responding to my mesaage.

There were so many bedbugs. I saw them just after midnight when on of the other dorm guests entered the room and turned on the lights. I tried contacting the hostel staff (they all leave at night) and got no response. It’s been almost a week and still no response. I ended up calling another hotel and luckily they had space. I returned to the hostel the following morning and asked for a refund. The owner was called and he told me that he was sorry and this was the first time he’s ever heard anything about bedbugs and that he would give a refund me the price of the hotel I moved to. No refund had been given yet.

Room very hot, with air conditioning, but it was , I guess, set up for ventilation only. Impossible to sleep. And i askwd to change the room on the second night and all the beds on that room, the beds were infested with bedbugs. I was stung in several parts on my body. Terrible! Apart the receptionist and location, it was awfull. Never more!

Well, we had a bed bug experience and the receptionist told us it was not going to harm us. And she claimed the previous traveller must have brought them in our room yet the other girls in the first floor complained also and were moved somewhere. Bugs happen it's possible but the way of handling the situation was not proper. They didn't pick the helpline. It was a mess.

Had bedbugs/fleas, I reached out to the hotel afterwards, and they still haven’t responded.

Bedbugs. I hope I didn't get any hitchhikers in my luggage at home.

Very good hostel! Absolute recommendation! + best location with view on Pisa tower, just 5 min walk, very safe + PAM supermarket 10 min walk away + very friendly and helpful staff + big room, comfortable beds, clean, NO bed bugs + lockers + big bathroom, very clean + small kitchen + nice lobby and garden

Un petit problème avec une punaise de lit trouvé morte dans le dortoir ( je suppose qu’un voyageur l’avait embarqué dans son sac car les lits étaient propres et le dortoir aussi) mais pour moi c’était un cauchemar. Une demi journée à laver mes vêtements mais le personnel était réactif et ils m’ont changé de dortoir et m’ont également remboursé les frais de lavage. N’hésitez pas à vérifier les lits ça peut arriver partout.

Overall, a decent hostel. However, I got bitten by bed bugs. So did the other girls staying in the room. The stress of worrying if I would bring the bugs home with my luggage ruined my trip. The staff should hire pest control as soon as possible. The location is convenient. It is close to all of the main attractions. The place is quiet and suitable for different age groups. Visitors have access to a small, cosy kitchen, although it is not suitable for cooking a proper meal.

Both my travel companion and I got bitten by bedbugs during our one night stay. I emailed them but received no response.
