Captain Morgan Hostel Lake Coatepeque

- Nog nooit zoiets meegemaakt. Wij hadden 2 privé kamers geboekt. Op de dag van aankomst was er 's avonds een techno-feest in het hostel. Om 4:30 uur s nachts hadden we nog geen oog dicht gedaan en was het feest nog op hoog volume aan de gang. Er was nergens meer personeel van het hostel. We zijn halverwege de nacht vertrokken naar een ander hotel.

+ Probably the only good thing about this place was the garden with its decoration.

- First off, the room was totally not the one which we booked, the pictures did not match at all. Moreover, our room's description: "The double room also features a barbecue. The double room offers a tea and coffee maker, a dining area, a terrace with sea views" Unfortunately we had NONE of the above! Allegedly there was a shared kitchen with microwave and a fridge but nobody showed us where it was, similarly to the other guests' experience as I read. Furthermore the shared toilet+shower blocks were dirty and moist all the time, we did not want to risk getting athlete's foot or something so we ended up skipping the usage of shower. Although the waiter was nice, the restaurant was overpriced. There were no shops nearby, absolutely nothing, so we were forced to eat at their restaurant after which we had stomach ache. The road in front is indeed a big dense cloud of sand all the time, but this is not their fault. Fortunately we spent at this place 1 night only but i would not do it again in any circumstances.

- internet non fonctionnel salle de bain toujours toute mouillée au sol. 3 salle de bain seulement , toujours occupé . De plus , les douches sont dans la même piece que la toilette donc si quelqun prend une douche , tu dois attendre de cela peut être long . Les paumes de douche sont inexistantes donc un simple gros jet froid et désagréable . Le distributeur de savon tombe au sol . il n'y a presque rien autour , aucun marché ou dépanneur . Je suis sorti un soir et j'ai dû sonné pendant 10 minutes avant que quelqun vienne m'ouvrir . Le service est mauvais , aucun tour des lieux lors de votre arrivée . Les piscines sont extrêmement sales . la cusine supposement commune est utilisée pour le restaurant qui prends dailleurs des heures avant d'etre servi . extrêmement décue . De plus , les transports sont rare et très cher vers les plages de la libertad soit autour de 90$ USD . Je ne le recommande pas .

- Don’t trust any of the fun-seeming, positive reviews, this place was filthy, had absolutely no atmosphere and was just awful. The toilets were disgusting and weren’t cleaned at all during our 2 night stay. One of them had a cleaning sheet that confirmed it hadn’t been cleaned in 3 days. At one point I had to ask them to clean the toilets because they all covered in wee and/or had whole poos in the toilet. In response, the guy working there went to look at them and told me they were fine and didn’t clean them? In the end I had to clean the toilet myself with hand sanitiser just to make it usable. I saw a member of staff walk out the toilet before I went to use it and when I went in there there was a poo just left floating. The flushes worked so I’m not sure why she didn’t use it… There are also only 2 showers which are in the reception which was weird. The staff were non-verbal and sat around doing nothing all day watching stuff on their phones. They didn’t say a word to us even when you spoke to them in Spanish which was pretty rude. The guy on the bar was very friendly though. It was also completely dead. There was no one else staying there while we were there. It gives the vibe of a party hostel online but is the complete opposite. There’s also absolutely nothing to do nearby. The lake is pretty so at least but we were very bored. It’s wasnt even a very relaxing place to chill out because next door was doing loud building work. Other highlights were the worst pillows of our 8 month backpacking trip so far and a complete mosquito infestation. We’d have checked out early but there was no other hostels available with rooms.

- They didn’t mention there was no bathroom on the room. So you just use the shared bathroom with others. I didn’t like it.

- Too loud Noisy crowds on the weekend Nowhere to go Expensive food (no kitchen or coffee for dorm guests)

+ The environment was nice, quaint, and comfortable. The food was really good and drinks were a little limited to times of the day but cheap and we like that.

- The location on the lake was great, getting there not so much .. parking was limited and the road was rough rough. I also didnt know the time restrictions for food/drinks and rules for the group boat shows in thie pictures.

+ Le lieux et les installations étaient très bien permettant de profiter du lac sans être les uns sur les autres. Les hôtes font preuves de compréhension

- Prenez la chambre avec balcon et surtout pas vue sur jardin

- Aus den Duschen kommt quasi kein Wasser, wir haben Jet Skis auf 17:30 Uhr reserviert. Dann haben die von der Unterkunft ihre Jetskis vermietet und die waren um 17:30 Uhr nicht zurück, dann mussten sie fremde Jetskis leihen und wir mussten sogar noch extra mehr bezahlen, obwohl der Planungsfehler seitens der Unterkunft war. Das war ziemlich frech... Trotzdem super Unterkunft

+ A equipe é espetacular - o atendimento que tive, em especial no bar, foi um espetáculo. O quanto individual é simples, mas atende muito bem - até porque vc não vai querer ficar no quarto. A estrutura do bar é sensacional: com redes, balanços e plataforma para pular no lago. Oferecem uso do jet ski, e valeu a pena. Ótimo local!

+ Amazing location, staff really takes care of you. They have information on how to get to Santa Ana Volcano. Bar is open till 10 or 12 and there's a papuseria 3 min away open till 8ish. Shared rooms and bathrooms are comfortable and clean. Bus to Santa Ana runs right outside the hostel, but even ubering is possible and rather cheap.

- The only thing is that the place always has music going and there are lots of people so it's not exactly a chill vibe. But overall excellent.

+ This place gives a nice view of the lake, and the place is beautiful. I ate down the street at the pupuseria, so cannot speak about the restaurant. They have information available by the front desk about which busses to catch and how to get around. The staff member that checked me in was very helpful. The room itself is small, but the bed is comfortable, the fan helped keep the room cool, and the shower was warm. There isn't much to do in the area, but this is the perfect place to rest and DO NOTHING! I loved it. I read a book in the hammock and watched people jump off the pier into the lake. Lovely stay.

+ 我在这里住了两周，度过了很愉快的时光。 位置非常好，靠着湖边，并且有平台可以跳水或者游泳，是一个非常休闲的地方。 本质上这里不是一个青旅，实际上他们只有一间宿舍房间，其他都是私人房间，所以并不是非常有青旅的文化。但是也许这里的老板想给预算较低的客人也有体验的机会，对此我感到非常开心。 他们有厨房，但是是和餐厅厨房共用的，所以你可能会感到有些拘谨。由于大部分客人不是宿舍房间的，他们更倾向于在餐厅消费，所以厨房并不拥挤，几乎随时可用。 总体来说，卫生也不错。 这里的尘土较大，因为外面的马路是土路，另外，蚊虫也比较多，建议携带驱蚊水。
