Tara Angkor Hotel

- Here we were asked for a credit card for guarantee and when we did not give it, we were asked to keep a 100 US dollar note as guarantee. Were we thieves in the eyes of the hotel when we had already booked a room from booking.com for a two-day stay there and the payment had already been taken from us.

- The breakfast was really the worst I tried in Asia, and I'm a frequent traveler. A lot of containers with strange food and small cup of useless ingredients which are maybe understood only by local people. Not suitable for international tourists. Coffee is terrible and too strong. Service not adequate. The room is old and in need of maintenance, the shower has old and malfunctioning equipment. Very few amenities in the bathroom, only one soap sharing between shower and lavatory. Personnel at the concierge totally incapable: we asked them how much is the price for a short leg of three-wheelers (tuk tuk) and they don't have any idea, finally they told us a price 3 times more than the real. Management totally unfriendly: when I informed that I need to check-out earlier because of a medical emergency (proved), the manager on duty refused any discount, without even coming out from his office for explaining. He just informed the employee of the reception. I was treated with contempt. Negative experience.

- A few things. I stayed for 3 nights and I saw a mosquito in my room all the days. I had a balcony but couldn't open them and go for a smoke which meant I had to exit the hotel every time. The pool area is nice but I think you couldn't smoke there either. So if you are a smoker I'd pick another hotel. Finally, and this is what I dislike the most, is that I paid for a room for 2 people but they wanted to charge me extra to let my Cambodian girlfriend stay with me since she was working when I first checked in. That's a ripoff and I haven't had this happen at any of the 20+ hotels I've stayed at in Asia in the past q4 months. The location is also not ideal. It's far from pub street, but closer to Angkor Wat, but that doesn't matter for the temple tours as you'd only have to wake up 10 minutes earlier. I'll come back to Siem Reap soon but I won't be staying here.

- TV noise from room next door . Music from outside . Reception not helpful . Would not agree to a 30 minute late checkout . Therefore had to check out at 4.30 am before sunset tour of Angkor Wat . Told there would be room available to shower and change before flight . This was the communal changing room for the swimming pool !

- The welcome drink was too lame. Just a squeeze of lemongrass in a small cup. Are they making a fool of their customers? I was told to wait in the lobby when I checked out. The staff didn't say anything to me after that so I waited in the lobby for 30 minutes. It was too long so I talked to the staff and they said that my check-out was already done. Then just tell me that already!

- The hotel is outside of the town centre, so it costs around 2 dollars each way to get a tuk tuk into town (it’s too hot to walk!)

- Je n'ai pas trop apprecié que l'on me rerefile la derniére chambre tout au fond du couloir, avec un Wifi très faible voir inexitant ,juste en face du local du personnel de la lingerie un peu bruillant par moment.

+ Breakfast was exceptional. Good food, friendly service, attentive staff. Could not fault it. Each day I was met with smiling faces from the staff especially our waiter 'Toly' who made sure that everything was of a high standard. I was never disappointed. The Door Staff were charming and a special word of praise for Reception staff who dealt with every problem in the same, professional manner. Loved the location of my room and how friendly and efficient the staff were in refreshing the room each day.

- I hated leaving such a wonderful atmosphere.

+ 房间宽敞，干净整洁，工作人员态度都很好。周围环境很安静，适合怕吵的人。早餐种类丰富。住客欧美人居多，没怎么看到亚洲面孔。距离博物馆和超市都很近，买东西很方便。酒吧街回来步行20分钟左右。

- 办理入住时要收100美元押金，这个应该提前提示一下。酒店附近餐馆比较少，想吃东西还是要去酒吧街附近。

+ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolute Herzensempfehlung! Dieses Hotel hat uns mehr als positiv überrascht – wir sind wirklich begeistert! Schon beim Ankommen wurden wir unglaublich herzlich und freundlich empfangen. Und genau dieses Gefühl zog sich durch unseren gesamten Aufenthalt. Jeder einzelne Mitarbeiter ist aufmerksam, hilfsbereit, fleißig und begegnet einem mit einem ehrlichen Lächeln. Man spürt sofort: Hier arbeitet ein Team in echter Harmonie. Alles wirkt organisiert, ruhig und professionell. Die Zimmer sind top gepflegt, äußerst sauber und mit viel Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet. Das Bett ist wunderbar bequem – wir haben hervorragend geschlafen. Besonders beeindruckt hat uns der tägliche Service: Das Zimmer wird gründlich gereinigt, das Bett frisch gemacht und die Handtücher regelmäßig gewechselt. Als besonderes Highlight kommt der Zimmerservice am Abend sogar nochmals vorbei (Turndown-Service), deckt das Bett liebevoll auf und schaut nach dem Rechten. Diese Aufmerksamkeit und Wertschätzung spürt man wirklich – ein Service, den man nicht überall findet. Es fehlt wirklich an nichts! Von Rasierer, Zahnbürsten, Wattestäbchen über Shampoo, Conditioner und Seife – sämtliche Hygieneartikel sind vorhanden. Dazu ein Föhn, ein Tresor – alles in einem einwandfreien, hochwertigen Zustand. Auch der Poolbereich ist ein echtes Highlight: sehr gepflegt, sauber und perfekt zum Entspannen. Frische Handtücher liegen jederzeit bereit, sodass man einfach nur genießen kann. Eine kleine Wohlfühloase! Das Essen ist ebenfalls hervorragend. Der Zimmerservice ist erstklassig und die Gerichte sind richtig, richtig lecker. Das Frühstück lässt absolut keine Wünsche offen: frisches Obst, köstlicher Joghurt, frisch zubereitete Rühreier und Omeletts sowie eine reichhaltige Auswahl – so startet man perfekt in den Tag. Wer einen Roller mietet, kann diesen ganz bequem hinter dem Haus auf einem eigenen Parkplatz abstellen – sicher und unkompliziert. Überhaupt ist hier alles durchdacht.

- Ist etwas hellhörig. Man hört aus dem Nebenzimmer Fernsehen und Klospülung und die Türen fallen sehr laut ins Schloss.

+ Die Lage und die Sauberkeit. Die Ausstattung war besonders gut das Personal war überaus freundlich und hat uns bei allen organisatorischen Sachen geholfen.

- Es wirklich sehr schade war, ist, dass die Zimmertüren derart laut ins Schloss fallen, dass man ohne Ohropax definitiv nicht schlafen kann. Auch ist es insgesamt sehr hellhörig. Das Hotel ist leider nicht auf glutenfreie Reisende eingestellt. Die Frühstücksbox für den Sonnenaufgang in Angkor Wat bestand nur aus Obst. Das ist kein Frühstück.
