Sala Siem Reap Hotel

+ I stayed at this hotel expecting a 4-star standard based on the room I booked. Unfortunately, the room I was given was clearly not of that category. It had a sink in the bedroom area, very old and deteriorated furniture (including crumbling surfaces), and a split/standalone AC unit instead of built-in air conditioning. Overall, it was visibly lower quality than the room shown in the listing. I raised the issue with reception and requested a room consistent with my booking, but the hotel said it was an upgrade. We only realized that there are different room categories upon check out. This is a material mismatch between what was advertised and what was delivered. I have requested a full refund but nobody answered my emails, and the hotel general manager didn’t even bother to talk to me in person. I would advise future guests to verify the exact room category on arrival before accepting the room.

- Absolute SCAM. You will see this hotel adversited as a 5 star hotel in booking and other platforms. It is not, and they will recognize this... once you are there. THE SCAM was so blatant that they offered us economic compensation, and the staff really tried their best, but be warned that your bedroom would be stained, full of bugs, and the quality you are paying as 5 star is 3 star maximum. (Look at the REAL pictures of the room) AVOID.

- The room was bad! It's grubby and old! We had a sewage smell in our bathroom coming from the shower drain overpowering the room. Maintenance came in to fix the drain by spraying toilet freshener (that was their fix) making it worse...a lovely smell of sewage and perfume. They kindly changed rooms for us, sadly it was worse than grubby and old...No smell of sewage but traded off with no wifi, shower flooding and right beside the elevator on the ground floor. The whole experience was aweful. It is unfortunate the wonderful staff does not have the support of the owners to maintain the hotel, do repairs and update the rooms. The owners needs to invest in their building to match the level of their staff. This is not a luxury 4+ hotel and It's overpriced! A refund was not offered although they did offer breakfast and a free dinner.

- How Is It even possibile that booking agree tò classify this hotel 5 stars? It Is a very old hotel, rooms are small, bathroom Is very small, old and dirty. They restored It tring tò Hide defects but It didnt work.

- No nos gustó ubicación, habia muchisimo ruido, no se podia dormir y las camas son durisimas. La ducha no muy bien.

- El personal del hotel me estaba pidiendo fotocopia de mi tarjeta de crédito, incluyendo en donde está el código de seguridad cvv, también querían copia de mi pasaporte y documentos personales! Muy mal servicio

- Nigdzie nie ma informacji że z prawej strony od hotelu budują hotel a z lewej remontują. Straszny chałas, głośna budowa sprzęt, nie ma szans na odpoczynek. Miałem zostać 5 dni ale na szczęście miałem rezerwację dwudniową przeniosłem się do innego hotelu.

- Cockroaches infested our bathroom at night, room lock was flimsy, and there was little to no hot water for showers

+ Hotel pequeño pero agradable, con personal muy servicial y atento. Nos recibió Kimyan, que fue muy atenta y nos explicó todo muy bien. Las habitaciones muy espaciosas, nosotros cogimos comunicadas, existe la posibilidad. El desayuno está bastante bien y variado. Al lado, como mencionan otros huéspedes, hay un supermercado, pero con precios tan caros como en Europa o Estados Unidos, eso sí, todo muy bien puesto. Un bote de crema del sol 15 dólares. Posibilidad de hacer la colada a seis dólares el kilo de ropa (al menos durante mi estancia), cosa que nos vino muy bien. El hotel tiene restaurante, conveniente si vienes cansado de los templos y no te apetece salir, pero los precios tres veces más caro que lo que encuentras en la calle. Lo mismo para los masajes, que también te puedes dar allí, pero a precios bastante más elevados de lo que encuentras cerca del old market, a 1 dollar en tuk tuk. La ubicación para mi era buena, sobre todo para salir hacia Angkor. No está al lado del centro centro, pero eso te da la tranquilidad que de otro modo no tendrías. Te ofrecen la posibilidad de organizarte visita a los templos con transporte y guía, por lo que vi más barato que con otras plataformas.

- El aire acondicionado un poco ruidoso para mi gusto. para un 5 estrellas eche de menos que no hubiera café descafeinado o que no tuvieran bebidas para los intolerantes a la lactosa. Sacado de Kimyan el resto no halaba tan bien inglés.

+ Loved everything, food, service, location. Staff were so obliging of requests. Miss Kimyan even pronounced my name correct when many Aussies don't.

+ I found the facilities very good, the pool was great, tue location was ideal for access to local amenities and things to do. The staff were particularly excellent, nothing was too much trouble. Thank you :)

+ La situation, les chambres étaient correctes et la literie était bonne.

- J’ai été obligé de changer de chambre car le coffre-fort n’était pas scellé et la climatisation ne fonctionnait pas bien car il faisait chaud dans la première chambre. Sur la deuxième chambre attribuée, il y avait une porte contiguë à une autre chambre mais l’entrebâilleur était inefficace. J’ai donc été obligé de coller à la porte 2 gros fauteuils afin d’éviter un vol dans ma chambre et j’ai demandé une ficelle pour renforcer la fermeture de cette porte. J’ai été obligé de me faire entendre car le personnel avait l’air de prendre les choses à la légère sans trop réagir. Il faudrait que le responsable investisse dans un verrou pour bien fermer la porte en toute sécurité. Je demande un dédommagement de 40 € pour ce manque de rigueur dans la sécurité des chambres de cet hôtel, pour la propreté douteuse (serviettes sales) et la piscine n’en parlons pas. D’autre part l’hôtelier pratique des prix 2 à 3 fois plus chers pour le transfert vers l’aéroport et les excursions. L’hôtelier a proposé un prix de 33 $ pour le transfert à l’aéroport alors que j’ai réussi à trouver un prix de 9 $. Pour une excursion aux cascades l’hôtelier proposait 88 $ alors que j’ai eu la même excursion pour 48 $. Le personnel masculin n’était pas très souriant, heureusement les filles compensaient. J’avais l’impression que les serveurs se moquaient de moi et donc des clients. Je ne comprends pas comment la première chambre puisse être attribuée en sachant pertinemment qu’elle ne respectait pas un minimum de sécurité. J’ai eu l’impression que l’entretien général de cet hôtel était en perte de vitesse pour faire des économies au détriment des clients.

+ My bed was comfy and staff were friendly. It is across the road from the Angkor Wat Museum and has a fab supermarket next door for supplies. It is in a quiet location and no noise in the room.

- I am vegetarian and can't drink Cows milk. I mentioned this to staff and it would have been nice if they got me some plant milk i.e. oat for my morning coffee and were more flex to make some food for breakfast for me, especially as the hotel is a long walk to the centre. I am sure if i pushed it, they may have helped. Its just that at every hotel i have stayed at they usually are more accommodating without being forced to be.

+ Everything! The staff were lovely, very friendly and looked after us really well. We were given a free room upgrade on arrival to a fantastic poolside room, with a great bathroom, huge comfortable bed, dining table and chairs and outside patio with furniture, which was screened by plants from the pool. The breakfast was delicious and varied. The hotel was located slightly out of the centre but that made it tranquil and relaxing and there were always tuk-tuks outside. The swimming pool was a good size and always clean and such a lovely temperature. The pool bar with happy hour cocktails 4-6, was an added bonus!
