Not a good hostal, super cold always, goki key app is super slow, receptionist is hating her job, training room that they advised is not open (in build), Sauna is broken every 2nd day. I will never come back to this hostal and would no one recommend to go, rather take the nomads hostal
Keine Ablagemöglichkeit in den Schlafkabinen um z.b.Handy beim laden abzulegen. In den Duschen grundsätzlich ungenügend Ablagemöglichkeiten für Kleidung oder Duschzeug. Preise über Silvester Viel zu teuer!!! Sehr begrenzte Parkmöglichkeiten!!!

This hostel ruined the honeymoon my wife and I were on. We had a private room, but their bathroom cleaner came in unannounced not once but twice on my wife. The second time he stood watching until she asked if someone was there. The receptionist, Nicole, was unapologetic and told me “I didn’t have the facts correct” before offering to comp our stay for that night, that we’d already paid for which was rather insulting since we were the wronged party. Shocking, these backpackers are robbers, offering a abismmal accommodation for exorbitant prices. When you complain you are fobbed off. It was worse than a squat as you are paying for this one. Go somewhere else this is a poorly managed and overpriced hostel. I Suggest the management of this hotel go and sampke 'rock solud' or 'Haka'ans understand what good/great hostels offer. awful !!!!! I had BED BUGS !!!! the second night I had to change my own sheets, had to stay even tho I wanted to leave but Friday night in QT everything booked ! so changed the sheet, but still all over them and I see the stains, blood, disgusting staff were not helpful. NOT CLEAN AT ALL !!! can not even sit on the bottom bed, too small, fridges not even enough spaces. I stayed 2 nights out of 3, not even a refund for it, I had to clean my clothes 2 times, it's expensives, all my bags, LEAVE DON...
Not worth the money. The complex is super old and at night u hear any slightest noise like bed squeaks / door shuts in the next room. Some of the worst sleeps I had. The laundry is only open a few hours a day so sometimes you will have to tweak your trip schedule around it. The hostel isn’t very social either. The nice backyard/ hot pool that u see in the picture is just closed at night. For the same price there are some nicer hostels in town
The hostel was fine to stay there for a night. The room felt more like an underground bunker, the bottom bunk head was so low I whacked my head a couple of times. You can’t sit up when you are in bed, you have to slide out. The showers don’t have doors only curtains or any place to put your stuff. They were all directly facing the toilet cubicles with not a lot of space in between. Someone came in to clean the bathroom while I was in the shower. For privacy reasons it was a bit uncomfortable...
Pros - storage under bed. - full length curtain for bed. - sockets and light by beds. - sizeable common room. Cons - not enough showers/toilets. - women’s shower not draining with hair and rubbish flooding bathroom. - staff not at reception or just chatting together about issues with management. - have to check in yourself when you get there with Goki rather than precheckin. - kitchen tiny and busy constantly. - quite loud with no quiet hours enforced. - waaaaay too expensive.
Booked a 6 bed mixed dorm for 5 people. They put us in a 8 bed dorm and couldn’t justify why they had done this and wouldn’t provide us with a refund even tho the 8 bed dorm is cheaper than we booked. Staff were useless at helping. Honestly just stay at No Mads it’s so much better and it’s not worth staying here for a spa and sauna that’s overcrowded. wouldn’t stay here again
Soooo expensive for what it is, I know it’s Queenstown but was by far the most expensive part of a whole nz trip. Needing a key to go to the bathroom is a nightmare, half of the time the key wouldn’t even work. Ended up transferring from the bunks to a private room because the bunks are so overcrowded and not ventilated. Very crowded kitchen but the facilities were clean.

Had a great time as this hostel. Room was clean and so was bathroom. Sauna was great too!
Decent hostel. Bottom bunks were a little tight. Facilities a little tired but overall good experience
Overpriced for the quality of the service received. The whole place smelled terrible (including room). Kitchen was not equipped to standard, way too little bathrooms for the amount of guests in the establishment. The bag storage was not locked and free for all to open.
Es war okay. War definitiv nicht mein liebstes Hostel. Die Zimmer war echt nicht geil die Betten Mega komisch. Oben musste man richtig hoch klettern und unten war kaum Platz. Bad war auch Gewöhnungsbedürftig, man duscht eigentlich im Dunkeln. Küche ist okay aber Handtücher und Schwämme könnten mal erneuert werden. Würde jetzt nicht nochmal dort hin.
It was okay. it was definitely not my favorite hostel. the room was really not sexy the beds were mega comical. upstairs you had to climb really high and down there was barely any room. the bathroom was also getting used to, you actually showered in the dark. the kitchen is okay but the towels and swims could be renovated. now wouldn't go there again.
Thanks a lot for the hot tub and the sauna! :-) The hostel is just 5 minutes walking from the lake! Nice garden und barbeque opportunity. The key rules anoyed me. I was always afraid to forget my mobile in the room or can't remember the code. It never happens - lucky me. :-) The storage in the rooms and the the fridge could be better. The rooms were small and the air was not so good. Nothing to hang wet clothes or towels.
Great location and rooms. Would be nice to have somewhere to change after your shower.

Es war mein erstes Mal in einem Hostel mit Schlafsaal. Ich hatte eine tolle Erfahrung. Es gab reichlich Duschen und Toiletten die auch sehr sauber waren. Das Hochbett war ein wenig unpraktisch zu Besteigen, es erfüllte aber seinen Zweck. Abends war es auch sehr ruhig, sodass man gut schlafen konnte. Der Pool und die Sauna sind ein großes Plus. Gerne wieder!
It was my first time in a hostel with a bedroom. I had a great experience. There were plenty of showers and toilets which were also very clean. The high bed was a little impractical to mount, but it served its purpose. In the evenings it was also very quiet, so you could sleep well. The pool and the sauna are a big plus. Gerne wieder!
Under the same booking but weren’t allowed in the same room. The beds are tiny, if you are on the bottom bunk you can’t even sit up. The kitchen is nice, bathrooms are good but small so king queues. Not what was shown on the pictures really.
Best hostel in Queenstown. No other hostel has the spa and sauna combo. Just brilliant
I can't really recommend this hostel and don't understand why it has such good reviews. It was pretty dirty, there were stains on the bed sheets, and the bathroom wasn't cleaned once during the four days I was there. The trash can was overflowing and the dishes were dirty. Overall, there are much better hostels in Christchurch.
I had the best sleep here in ages. The bottom bunk is quite a bit smaller than the top one. The showers are very small with no space to store your things, but everything else was clean and tidy. It’s a little bit away from the city center, but you notice that in how peaceful it is—I really liked that.
Good location, friendly staff. Hand dryer did not work in downstairs bathroom. Kitchen, sauna, and laundry all had limited hours. The door to the dorm closed extremely slowly to a point, then slammed shut loudly, shaking the whole dorm. It was pretty mids. The pillows are completely flat, and the wifi was not reliable. In the showers, there are no hooks or shelves or anywhere to put your towel/clothes where they won’t get wet.

Really nice place, nice music, good location close to lake, toilets were always clean or under cleaning which is very important. I guess the only bad thing is the parking but there is a lot o places around to park your car if needed
Denise and Alan were great, very friendly and helpful. I met a lot of nice people in the hostel. Great location. The kitchen can get very crowded sometimes, but manageable.
A lot of potential. With some love & motivated staff it would be amazing. Location is perfect & the terrace with sauna and hot tub is great! Unfortunately it closes at 9pm leaving not much room to hang around. When it’s raining there isn’t really a cosy place to be. The kitchen is tiny and the lower bunks are soooo cramped I bumped my head quite many times.
Good social aspects not greatest hostel vibe, hit up more comfy ones but the sauna was properrrrrr!
Decent place, bag security through the day is slightly questionable, friend had not so pleasant interaction with some of the staff. Vibe was alright.
