I kept getting itchy on the bed I really hope it’s not bed bug

Very expensive for what you get. 2 people in my room had bed bugs in the bed. Rash all over the body. Disgusting 🤢

I stayed at this hostel recently and, unfortunately, discovered a bed bug in my room on the second day. I want to be clear that neither I nor my bunkmate experienced any bites during our stay, and when I checked the mattress and pillows upon check-in, there weren’t any signs of an infestation. Still, seeing one was unsettling enough that I decided to check out early. The hostel was gracious upon bringing this to their attention, immediately offering to refund my stay and offering access to the laundry services without me bringing it up. They also sent someone up to check on the room. Bed bugs aren’t necessarily the hostel’s fault—they can happen anywhere if a guest unknowingly brings them in—but it’s something I take very seriously and feel obligated to share with other potential travelers. That said, I think this was likely a one-off issue. Given that neither I nor my bunkmate had any problems, I wouldn’t say this should stop people from considering this place. Aside from this incident, I actually don’t have anything bad to say about the place—it was relatively clean, comfortable, and well-run. It’s just unfortunate this happened during my stay.

we got bitten by bugs while staying here! five of my friends and I stayed here for our last interrail stop, it was by far the most expensive hostel we had stayed at and also the worst. the room we got was not like the ones advertised in the webside, the room was extremely hot since the windows couldn't be open fully and the room didn't have any air flow at all, even with the price of the room their beds weren't even made and there was no kitchen. After the first night here my friend woke up with bug bites all over her body and after a call with her doctor we knew they were mite bites, we went to complain and the only solution they gave us was free laundry as they said it must have been her clothes that had mites even though the bites appeared only after sleeping in their hostel. EDIT: we complained again to the manager and they refund us a night out of the three we stay in the hostel, glad we could settle on a solution.

The people working there are nice and professional. They let us check in earlier. I would thank them again. The location is good. You can leave your bags in the lockers, for free, and they are big, but when you put your pin code its very uncomfortable because the other people waiting behind you are also looking!! The dining area/bar looks nice. Beds are clean we checked them, no bed bugs. The negative points: The party kids! When we wanted to sleep we were surprised that they kept their roomdoors open and be loud, I went to check what is their problem and they were smoking inside! The upper-beds! My friends used the chairs to get to their beds! It was really not easy. The metal sink in the room! When you want to wach your hands it is very noisy at night. The room smells a bit.

Punaise de lit dans la chambre! J’ai été piqué pendant la nuit. Et le check in à 15h avec un check out à 10h30 c’est juste pas possible. A fuir.

BETTWANZENBISSE / MILBEN Die Matratzen sind eigentlich schon weit über ihre eigentliche Lebenszeit hinaus. Wir haben 3 Nächte in einem 4er Etagenbett verbracht. Von Nacht zu Nacht wurden meine Augen geschwollener und haben gejuckt. Fazit eine allergische Reaktion im Gesicht zu geschwollene Augen und Ausschlag auf der Hand. Der Ausschlag / mehrere rötliche Bisse (Wanzenstraße) ist nach 3 Wochen noch zu sehen mit starkem Juckreiz. Das Zimmer ist winzig und durch die kleinen Kippfenster nur sehr schwer zu belüften und verstaubt - der Staub ist deutlich sichtbar in der Luft geflogen, durch schütteln der Kleidung. Jeder Stern ist eigentlich ein Stern zu viel.

Apparently I didn't have the same experience as others here... We stay in hostels all the time and this was by far the worst. Besides the fact that it was expensive, the room was incredibly small and included absolutely nothing and didn't even have a shower curtain in it's crappy little bathroom. Front desk reception was rude and gave us directions to park in a lot that was SIX MILES away (there's parking on the street outside or a covered garage directly next door). To make things worse, I woke up with some sort of bug bites on my hands and arms. They told me they were mosquito bites (interesting since I saw a total of zero mosquitos there) and refused to give me a refund and instead offered to give me either a $10 discount on my next stay there (never staying there again) or a Hostelling International card (which I already have). Plus, the location isn't really that great and it's super packed and noisy. Super disappointed in this place.

Right off the start the staff was not helpful. 1-We asked basic question such as where is the grocery store, and they said it was too far (it was a 4 minute walk actually). 2- We asked if they have a microwave and they lied said they didn't. Then they said we can use their kitchen one, then a staff member spoke to this gentleman in Dutch so we wouldn't understand for a lengthy time and he changed his answer. 3- My friend has bed bugs in her bed. She has posted photos on these reviews. Meanwhile, the daytime manager dismissed us all, stating her bites are from "shampoos" while we all used the same shampoo and these were clearly bites not a rash. The daytime manager did a brief inspection and stated that they never had bed bugs. Then we asked to speak to him privately about our concerns, and he basically spent an hour telling us we are 3 dumb girls (all three of us are mechanical engineers, so that's far from the truth but regardless of our professions, nobody should be treated poorly like we were). He just kept talking and was not helpful nor provided any solution, and quickly changed his previous answer to they had bed bites a few times. One of his staff members were listening in on the conversation and offered their laundry services to clean her clothes from the bed bugs. We accepted and left for the day, simply because we needed a break from this rude manager. When we came back we were leaving that evening to another city. Her clothes were damp and 40% of it was not washed - the entire point was to remove any bugs in her luggage so again they were not effective. We then spoke to a different manager, Dominic. He inherited a mess of situation and handled it significantly better than the previous manager. He actually listened to our frustrations from the staff this entire trip, and particularly that bed bugs situation, and resolved it accordingly.
