Chalok Hostel

+ Pieni, likainen, saastainen. Surkea kokemus. Ei saippua suihkussa eikä vessassa paperia.

+ The location was okay.

- Don't go there! We stayed for five nights. Just at the arriving the nightmare began: we couldn't check in because there was no electricity. No one could tell us how long to wait. Some time later we were able to check in. Because of the lack of electricity, the room was really hot and we asked the staff if we could turn the AC lower. She explained that only the owner has the remote and even takes it home with him so we had to wait until he was there. At daytime the AC was only allowed at 28 degrees and in the night at 26, which was always way too hot, because there are 8 people in one room. Next the sanitaries: absolut desaster: There are only three rooms available which always have a toilet and a shower. Besides everything being wet all the time, it wasn't clean at all and it was disgusting having to go in there with shoes. Talking about shoes: As usual in thailand you just take them off in front of the entrance. One day I came back two hours after putting them down and they were gone. Someone stole them or mistook them as their owns. I asked the staff if she could watch the security footage of the camera (which was right at the entrance). She said we had to wait for the boss again. Approximately one hour later he told me he didn't know who took them and when I asked to view the footage, he showed me but said it was too much work to skim through the two hours. He said I should just buy new ones and finished it off with a "welcome to thailand". Not only the staff being completely overwhelmed with the housekeeping and the sanitaries not being clean, the boss also was not helpful at all. Not even gonna mention the construction building 2 meters across the street. Horrible experience and that comes from someone who stayed in about 10 hostels in thailand so far. Would not recommend.

+ De locatie is top – om de hoek scoor je een heerlijke club sandwich en Freedom Beach ligt dichtbij. Maar daar houdt het wel een beetje op.

- De “veiligheid” is een grapje: één sleutel paste op élk kluisje (handig als je van ruilen houdt) en de slaapkamer had niet eens een fatsoenlijke deur. Iedereen kon binnenwandelen, inclusief de lokale straatkatten die hun nachtliederen vol enthousiasme lieten horen. Slapen werd zo een uitdaging, ook omdat de deur niet op slot kon – o, wacht, er was geen deur. De douche leek meer op een schimmelproject waar slippers verboden waren (waarschijnlijk voor de thrill). En de receptionist? Die wist niet waar je kon kayakken – of iets anders eigenlijk en keek je schaapachtig aan. De sfeer met de kamergenoten was ook kil en vervelend. ’s Avonds is er in het laagseizoen weinig te beleven. Je loopt zeker 20 minuten om überhaupt iemand tegen te komen die geen kat is. En om 17.00 uur sloot de receptie de boel af – zonder ook maar een waterfles bij te vullen. Dorstig naar meer? Dan moet je zelf maar een bron zoeken. Al met al: als je van avontuur, schimmel, onveiligheid en stilte houdt – veel plezier. Anders zou ik zeggen: loop even dat extra blokje om.

+ Gute Lage, ein 7- Eleven, der Strand und ein paar Restaurants in nächster Nähe, durfte früher auschecken um meine Fähre zu bekommen

- unbequeme betten, extrem schmutzige bäder (die wurde während meiner 4 Tage dort nicht einmal gereinigt!), super laut, personal unhöflich, man wird gezwungen barfuß zu laufen, wobei der boden im Hostel sehr schmutzig war-> man schleppt den ganzen Dreck ins Bett, man sprach mit vollem Mund mit mir Am schlimmsten war, dass mir zunächst das falsche Bett zugewiesen wurde. Anstatt mich zu informieren wurde mein gesamten Zeug von wem auch immer, auf das neue Bett gelegt! Das geht garnicht! Das versprochene heiße Wasser ist mit viel Fantasie lauwarm. Mehr Spinnen als Besucher*innen sind dort.

+ El chico (intuyo que jefe) que lleva el hotel se preocupó mucho cuando le dijimos que dejábamos el hotel por incomodidad y suciedad. Se presentó presencialmente y mostró su preocupación en todo momento, incluso nos devolvió el dinero.

- Las camas son muy duras. En mi caso, el dia que fui, la habitación olía a marighuana (mucho) y, además, había un par o tres de personas muy iresponsables que no dejaron dormir (esto no es culpa del hotel). Las cortinas de las camas dejan pasar todo tipo de luz (estan mal atadas con unas cuerdas). La limpiezande los baños dejan un poco que desear (comparten WC y ducha dentro del mismo espacio y si no se lleva una limpieza muy intensa todo acaba siendo muy antihigiénico). Nos encontramos mocos y olía a meado uno de los lavabos. Dijimos que por favor nos diesen un trapo para secarlo (siempre estaba empapado el WC) y nos dijeron los de recepción que lo limpiásemos con papel higiénico (estaba mojado también). Con todo esto, decidimos irnos antes de tiempo de este hotel e irnos a otro. Un poco decepcionante, aunque había cosas que no eran culpa del hotel.

- Noisy and beds were like concrete.

+ Genial ubicación, en una zona muy tranquila comparado con Sairee. Alrededor había todo lo necesario, tanto restaurantes, 7/11, cerca de la playa… a muy buen precio. Las instalaciones estaban genial y el personal muy amable y cercano. Seguimos también su recomendación de tour snorkel y bautizo de buceo y fue genial!

+ Ήταν ωραίο, καθαρό, τα κοινόχρηστα μπάνια ήταν πάντα πεντακάθαρα πάντα παρότι έμενε αρκετός κόσμος.Το πρωινό που σου έφτιαχνε η συμπαθέστατη κοπέλα ήταν πολύ νόστιμο και χορταστικό πάντα. Ο κοινόχρηστος χώρος επίσης συμπαθητικός

- Κάποια προκαταβολή είχαμε δώσει στην αρχή για πετσέτες, δε την πήραμε ποτέ πίσω. Βέβαια δε τη ζητήσαμε και ποτέ γιατί το θυμηθήκαμε όταν είχαμε φύγει.

- Frühstück etwas enttäuschend. 2 Scheiben Toast werden dem Preis nicht wirklich gerecht. Schon etwas teurer für ein Bett im Schlafsaal

+ Super , deuxième fois que je viens . Le patron est super sympa ! J’ai du partir plus tôt que prévu il m’a remboursé la totalité des nuits où je n’étais pas là. Terrasse super confortable et à côté de tout les commerces et de la plage.

+ L’emplacement était vraiment top ! À 5 min de la plage ! À proximité de plusieurs restaurants ! Le dortoir en lui même est vraiment propre et confortable. Le personnel est super et on m’a même ramené jusqu’au port car sinon j’allais possiblement rater mon bateau, franchement ils sont super accueillants pour le coup !

- Les douches et sanitaires pourraient être un peu mieux entretenues

+ Este hostal me gustó tanto que tuve que ampliar mi estancia. Las habitaciones son súper amplias y te dan una taquilla con llave para guardar las cosas de valor, por lo que puedes tener tus cosas cómodamente. El agua caliente y el WIFI funcionaron perfectamente durante toda la estancia. Además tienen mucha información sobre la isla y algunos servicios como alquiler de gafas de bucear y aparcamiento para las motos. Súper recomendable, volveré pronto seguro! Gracias Jesús!

+ El hostal es súper cómodo y está muy limpio. Las camas son grandes, el aire acondicionado funciona muy bien, y te dan toallas y una mantita por si tienes frío. Las zonas comunes son amplias y con ventiladores, y tiene una buena zona para tender la ropa mojada de la playa. La ubicación es perfecta, cerca de playas, restaurantes y tiendas, y además es una zona tranquila alejada de ruidos. Tanto el dueño como los trabajadores son un encanto y te ayudan en todo lo que necesites. Cuidan cada detalle!

+ La atencion de la pareja que trabaja ahi y el trato cercano con el gerente.

- Le débit d'eau dans les douches.

+ Posizione perfetta vicino a chalok beach. Non caotica come la zona del porto ma vicina a tutti i servizi. Lo staff è gentilissimo e amichevole! Tutti si ricordavano il mio nome dopo la prima interazione. L'ostello è pulito e tutti gli altri clienti che ho conosciuto erano super simpatici. Tornerò sicuramente!9

- Breakfast with just 2 toasts and one egg is really not enough for the price. Other options cost extra.

+ Muy limpio y en zona tranquila con todo lo necesario. Cama cómoda, aire acondicionado todo el día y personal de lo mejor

+ Very clean rooms with strong AC. Right in the middle of the Chalok area.

- Bathrooms were a little rudimentary.

+ Situé a 30mn a pieds du quai, l'auberge a 2 dortoirs de 8 en rez-de-chaussée . Climatisation réglé en journée et baissé en soirée. J'ai passé 10 nuits agréables avec la grande plage " Mr Jack beach " a 10mn et spots de snorkling aux alentours. Personnel tres amical. Restaurant ou sandwichs a proximité tres correct partout.

- Pas d' équipements pour cuisiner sur place. Faire un petit nettoyage entre le mur et le lit ( pour éviter araignée et fourmis)
