+ The room & breakfast was fine - the owner was initially friendly on checkin

- Unfortunately, my stay was let down by very poor service. The lady serving breakfast was extremely rude from the start. I wouldn’t recommend staying here if you don’t speak Spanish, as communication was difficult and staff were not patient or helpful. When I tried to check out, my keys didn’t work and there are several locks on the main door to get out. I asked for help, but the staff member just kept repeating in Spanish to put the key in the box, which wasn’t the issue. She refused to help twice, and my key ended up snapping in the door. She then became angry and called the owner. I was essentially trapped inside for about 10 minutes, which made me miss my Uber and almost my bus. There was a side entrance open the whole time, but no one told me—another guest did. The same lady even tried to stop me from leaving, which was unacceptable. Overall, a very stressful experience that completely overshadowed my stay.

- I would like to share my extremely disconcerting experience at this establishment with potential visitors. Firstly, I want to make it abundantly clear that my main issue was with the staff. Throughout my stay, I encountered numerous instances of sheer lack of friendliness and courtesy from the personnel. The cold demeanor and lack of willingness to assist from their side certainly tainted the overall experience. The room conditions were almost unbearable, particularly considering the cost. For the exorbitant price, I expected basic amenities like fans or air conditioning to be a given. However, the room lacked these essentials, making it uncomfortable and stifling, especially during the hot summer days. The hotel's location was nothing short of a nightmare to reach. The inconvenience of the strenuous journey to and from the hotel, coupled with its isolation from nearby attractions, made the stay even more unsatisfactory. The poor connectivity and accessibility did not make up for any form of peace and quiet one would expect from such a secluded spot. As for the value for money, it was woefully subpar. Given the numerous downsides I've outlined, the price charged was wholly disproportionate to the services rendered. The breakfast service was disappointingly underwhelming as well. There was limited variety and quality was far from satisfactory. The food was bland and not fresh, which was not what I expected from a hotel charging such a premium price. What alarmed me the most, however, was the lack of privacy. There were cameras everywhere, to the extent that one was even facing the toilet window. It was highly discomforting and made me feel as if my privacy was grossly invaded. I found it totally unacceptable for a place that is supposed to provide a safe and comfortable refuge for travelers.

- Difficilmente scrivo valutazioni negative però oggi non posso non farlo. Premetto che la struttura è risultata pulita accogliente ed in una buona posizione. Tuttavia quel che mi è accaduto non può passare inosservato. Nel prenotare la stanza avviso che sarei arrivato con un volo notturno e quindi il check in sarebbe stato maggiorato di 10 dollari. Accetto, arrivo in struttura alle 1:30 di notte, iniziò a suonare il campanello e nessuno mi apre.. io senza internet, in piena notte con gente poco raccomandabile per strada. mi attacco al campanello e dopo mezz’ora un OSPITE mi apre. in reception non c’è nessuno, al telefono tantomeno risponde qualcuno. di conseguenza sono costretto a dormire sul divano dell’ingresso fino al mattino quando la donna delle pulizie avvisa la proprietaria e mi danno un letto per 2 ore. mi viene offerta la colazione, però quello che è successo credo sia inammissibile. Se quell’ospite non mi avesse aperto avrei trascorso tutta la notte per strada con gli zaini e non so come sarebbe andata.

- Between 11pm and 2 am the host entered 3 times the dorm, was noisy and put on the lights. They prepared the bed for two more people after that time. With their very loud entrance i was awake almost the whole night. Sleeping was impossible. In general bring earplugs since you can hear every word that is spoken in the building.

- El personal que atiende no es amable. Solo hay tres baños en todo el edificio, y están fuera de las habitaciones, lo que es un poco incómodo. E

+ La dueña súper amable y el servicio de lavandería te deja la ropa bien dobladita, lista para ponerla muy fácil en la mochila. El desayuno muy bien, y además del típico plato con huevos y salchichas o cereales, también puedes pedir tamales. Lo recomiendo.

+ Wunderschönes Hostel. Sehr nettes Personal. Gut geeignet für einen kurzen Aufenthalt in San José. Das Frühstück war auch sehr lecker.

+ La déco, l'espace de coworking, la terrasse...

- Chambre sans fenêtre, juste à côté de l'escalier et de l'accueil (donc un peu de passage et de bruit).

+ We arrived very late at night and reception was helpful in opening up for us. For an extra $10 fee. The decorations and building are beautiful and breakfast was great. It was a very close location for us to catch a bus the next morning.

- The bedroom was fine, but did not have a window.

+ The decor is fantastic, breakfast was very tasty and offered in a generous time window. All staff were kind, helpful, and clear. Fellow travelers were a good bunch. Its convenient to walk to downtown San Jose and the big park Sabana. Also very convenient to the grocery store, laundry, and buses. Plenty of charm, character, and personal assistance should you need it.

+ Brauchte nur ein Platz für eine Nacht, dafür war es okay
