St. Gallen Youth Hostel

Eine klassische Jugendherberge am Rand der Stadt. Direkt mit der Bahn erreichbar oder man läuft halt hoch. Personal nett Zimmer sauber und es gibt genug Platz für Gepäck. Leider gibt es keine Steckdosen am Bett. Ein echter Minuspunkt war für mich das sehr knapp bemessene Check-In Zeitfenster. Frühstück ist soweit iO

The building itself was okay, security fine. The facilities cleanliness was acceptable, however, not well stocked. The girls bathrooms on one floor ran out of toilet paper entirely, I had to go downstairs and in the other bathroom most stalls also had no toilet paper. It was night so there was no one to replace it. The secretary man was very slow to help and seemed apathetic. On my first night there, there were a total of 4 other people in the hostel. Not a lively joint. Location very bad too.

Retro youth hostel. Lovely setting (although killer hill to walk up (but there are public transport options)! Clean and comfortable. Large lockers available. Enjoyed our stay.

Enjoyed my stay. Staff were friendly and incredibly helpful. A transport ticket is provided at check in making it easy to get to and from town. The breakfast was very good and varied. Had an issue with laundry. It is done for you by the hostel so you will only get your laundry back in the evening if it is given in the morning.

Very clean. Front desk lady was super friendly and let us check in early. Ok location. Trains easy. We walk lots, so no problem for us. Kitchen person was rude. Barked orders at people, was mad at people for simple questions, would absolutely not allow you to get coffee before 7:30. He was the exception to the place though. Most people joked about him. Rooms/bathroom very clean. Enjoyed our stay and would come back.

Loved it here staff were so friendly. Very quiet place and chill, not the most sociable but I wanted a few nights here to chill. Much older crowd as others have said so just a heads up. Didn’t have a problem with that - it’s located on a hill so beautiful views of the city too. Beds were good and brekkie was decent.

Good value for the money can’t go wrong

Great central location for activities in and around St Gallen. Very clean and comfortable room and bathroom facilities. I really enjoyed the breakfast option and easy access to the centre of town and a trip to Appenzell and Wasseraum. The staff were super friendly and helpful and made me getting a bit of laundry done super easy!

The staff were very kind and helpful! The breakfast had a great selection of food. It’s definitely a place with a large mix of ages but they did their best to place young solo travellers together which I appreciated! I would stay here again!

Camere spaziose e ben tenute. Armadietti fuori dalle camere e bagni sempre puliti. Posizione leggermente fuori dal centro ma comodamente raggiungibile con il tram, incluso nel ticket giornaliero che ci hanno fornito. Colazione buona

Everyone from the staff was very nice and accommodating. All of the shared areas were cleaned everyday and I felt safe at the hostel as a solo female traveler. Good breakfast and beatiful view of the whole city from the garden. I would 100% recommend.

More centered around family travel and a bit out of the way, but clean and comfortable.

Tolles Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis Reichliches Frühstück - Es wurde von allem immer rasch nachgelegt Sehr sehr freundliches und kompetentes Personal : sei es Anreise, Zimmerkarte hinterlegen, Frühstück, Sehr saubere und moderne Sanitäranlagen Gute Lage ins Zentrum: 10 min Fahrt mit der Appenzeller Bahn Tipp: Anreise mit der Appenzellerbahn bis Halte Birnbäumen auf der Homepage vermerken. Such a nice and clean and comfortable hostel! The owner was super nice and breakfast was great. For the most part the crowd was parents with children and you will probably not meet people here. The station is super close just up a hill and you get a free public transportation card! I would go to Appenzell while you’re here! Also there’s a refrigerator but no kitchen.

My only request would be to give better directions to the hostel from the train station on your website itself. Not everybody has Internet and Wi-Fi when traveling so Google maps cannot be used.
