Barabas Luzern

This place is a no. Would never go back. So dirty, so hot, so many bugs, such a horrible kitchen, no atmosphere, no friendly staff, absolutely a no go. The only good thing was the location.

Points forts : emplacement (près de tout, facilement accessible à partir de la gare), lit confortable, sécuritaire, petit déjeuner super (belle variété aussi), le jardin (un peu caché mais super). Points négatifs : il a fait très chaud dans la chambre (malgré les fenêtres ouvertes en avril), une seule toilette pour 2 chambres de 6 personnes, manque d’équipements dans la cuisine (aucun bols/assiettes), il n’y a pas d’espace commun (sauf le jardin).

Good hostel, excellent facilities and location. Not the most social but still enjoyable.

Staying here was like combining all the guests of a hotel into a dorm room. Very random assortmentof people, had people in their 70s as well as families. No atmosphere or common spaces at all. Beds and bathrooms are nice at least.

位置尚算方便，琉森火車站步行大約15分鐘。設施方面非常一般，床頭只有一個USB充電，嚴重不足使用。只有一個很少的公共廚房，洗手間沒有風筒，需要到櫃檯付$20歐元按金或以駕駛執照抵押借用。房間通風欠佳，房內總有陣陣汗味。員工服務態度良好，會主動提供資訊。但若果再到琉森，未必會選擇這裡住宿。

Belle expérience en famille l'auberge de jeunesse est très originale. Le prix est un élevé mais c'est peut-être du au tarif suisse.

Location is good. I must admit that I felt afraid hahahahahha.

Nice staff.

Gorgeous place, super clean and the staff is both friendly and helpful. The thing is... Barabas is a *hotel* with a few dorms and not the other way around. The "common room" is very dull and dark and nobody stays there. If you wanna play pool, it is the restaurant downstairs and you cannot go at eating hours. I would highly recommend it if you're travelling with your family or a group of friends, but it did not offer the Hostel experience I was looking for. Definitely not suited for solo travel...

A great stay!

Certainly a unique location, but not so much of a hostel. This is a hotel with some dorm rooms and the lack of social atmosphere reflects this. Bunk beds offer zero privacy, but you get what you pay for. There was a small kitchen. In a good location and about right on money (for Switzerland!). It’s alright, would stay again!

Second stay at Barabas, and I'm still a fan! The breakfast buffet does a lot of the work here, it's very good. Staff is helpful. Bathrooms are very good. Dormrooms were... okay. There's a sore lack of power sockets, and the lockers were a tad cramped. Here, the hostel's history as a prison persists. But overall, great stay again.

Great hostel! More of a family vibe and private rooms!

Schöne Unterkunft, cooles Konzept, perfekte Lage. Die Küche ist leider super klein und schlecht ausgestattet und es fehlten Gemeinschaftsräume.

Awesome location right in middle of town. Rooms and bathroom well sized and very clean. Kitchen pretty basic but does the job, though no real common area to hang out in and not any real social vibe at all. Also got stuck with no European schuko plug outlets, only Swiss (type j) sockets for laptop charger.

Nicest bathrooms and towels are included, well equipped kitchen with all the supplies. Staff were extremely helpful when trying to figure out what to do and overall the space felt very clean and not like a prison at all

Very close to old town which meant we could walk to the entire city from the hostel. The garden is a major plus but the common area inside is very small + kitchen as well. Bathroom floor was constantly wet from the showers too. Other than that the beds are great and made every morning by the cleaning staff.

He estado recorriendo Europa por 40 días y debo mencionar que este hostel ha sido el mejor. Las camas parece. Una nube un descanso total. El personal super amable. Limpieza impecable. Ubicación dentro del casco antiguo y a muy cerca de la estación de tren. 100% recomendable

Great location with an easy walk to everything. There are not good hangout places in the lobby/restaurant, but there is a chill garden area on the second floor no one seemed to know about. Is not a social hostel, but the people there for hiking can be more interesting.

Great location, clean, staff were helpful

This was my second time back at Barabas. Unbeatable location, comfortable beds and excellent shower facilities. Everything is reasonably new and good quality. This is not a party hostel which I like, so a good location to relax with good sleep and no stress. For a fee the Breakfast Buffet is of good quality and variety. Pefect to load up on before a big day out and about. Definitely will return.

Cool hostel in a great location. No kitchen aside from a kettle and microwave in a restaurant and no social aspect at all.
