Porto Lounge Hostel & Guest House

They cancelled the booking 2 hours after check in time, by email. They explained there was some water damage, but I found the room I booked on airBnB for double the price, and then they refused to answer my emails.

3 stars. Great location! But they’re definitely better hostels to stay in while in Porto. The doorbell appeared broken (it looks like it was installed a while ago but has not had maintenance) and this was a problem - people rang it more than once and staff got annoyed. Toilet seat was broken, the dormitory was stuffy and there are no privacy curtains on the beds. Smelly toilet.The latch on the shower door was broken and the drain was broken too. This hostel is falling apart, would not recommen...

We enjoyed our trip, but the private room was too small for the price we paid, I would advice Airbnb if you are planning to stay more than 1 night. Also no lift in a 6 story hostel. The room was wall to wall (thin wall) to other room and we could hear them all night. No breakfast! The staff is amazing! Super helpful and ready!

We paid 76 euros per night for a very small room. The premises are not very welcoming, don't trust the pictures. The lighting is depressing. In addition we needed a light mattress for our 5 years old son and the receptionist refused, I don't know why, and told me he only had a spare bed which happened to be a IKEA cot, from which we could easily detach the matress and move it to our room. I had to threaten him to call his manager to make him give it. For the price I do not recommend this place.

Then I asked where can I find a place in the city to buy an iron and they answered that we can find one at any common place which is logical but I'm a tourist... So I asked the name of a place we can go to and they responded you have an apartment that has full amenities... And they didn't even have glasses in the room...

I booked the mixed dorm - I have stayed in mixed dorms often before and NEVER encountered any problems. I did not feel safe in this hostel and left even though I paid for another night. The rooms are not locked! The locker was not big enough for the suitcase. The men were staring at me and behaved weirdly at night and I felt extremely unsafe. The shower in the mixed (!!) bathroom was see-through and it’s not possible to change clothes in there so i would’ve needed to get out naked or in a to...

The private room I stayed in the first 2 nights was great but when I moved to the dorm there were a number of issues. Firstly none of the power sockets on the bunks worked so we all had to charge our phones somewhere else. There was no hot water in the showers at all (no matter what time of day) and they changed the sheets on the beds every day and moved all your stuff around when doing so. Not great honestly for the price.

The hostel is well located and one can reach it easily. Unfortunately the limited check in/out hours and their policy not to guard any baggage’s is not optimal. One can lose a lot of time finding an appropriate place to find a locker in the city and also have to pay extra. In general the hostel is clean but some of the pictures are a bit misleading. My mattress was pretty worn out and after two days without much sleep my back began to hurt. There are probably better options for the same price.

What bothers me about this place is that there is no reception until 3pm. They don't allow bag storage, I've never been to a hostel that doesn't. Instead they have some company managing it and you have to leave the hostel and pay for it. Feels kind of slimy when you spend hundreds of euros to stay there.. We had an individual room which was actually quite nice, quite clean I liked it.

Hardly saw any other people, not very friendly environment, said they offered breakfast but when we came down there was nothing- same for evening activities. The staff were helpful in making recommendations and directions. Clean room and spacious, looks very modern. The AC was cooling but not enough it felt like.

Sin duda alguna, una hermosa experiencia que volverías repetir todas las veces que vuelva a Porto. Las sábanas me las cambiaban cada día, el personal en el hostal encantador y ni hablar del agua con limón y hierbabuena que ponen para consumir en la recepción del hostel.

Stylish space. Slight unpleasant smell on ground floor. Other guests were messy in the communal kitchen and not super friendly. Excellent room and views from top floor….only 79 steps….

Sehr nettes Personal, gut geschnittene Räume, sauber. Wir hatten einen sehr schönen Aufenthalt :)

The locks for the doors were very difficult to manage. It smelled a bit, and the walls were extremely thin. Great location and helpful staff.

great for a short visit and great access to most of Portos gems.

Apesar de pequena estadia, tudo 5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Recomendo

Great place to stay, close to everything. The rooms were clean and so were the bathrooms. I never had any trouble using the shower or toilet and seemed like I had it to myself. Lots of street noise but their isn't anything they can do about that. Great stay! Thanks!

La ubicación es lo mejor. En mi cama no había luz ni tampoco un enchufe. Pero al menos tenia cortina. El espacio está bien y si quieres tranquilidad.
