Habitación disque limpia pero hay un olor a drenaje e humedad que viene desde el baño. También encontré una cucaracha dentro del baño. No hay abanico y no hay circulación de ningún aire acondicionado. Amanecí con mordiscones de CHINCHES. No se queden en Casa Pepe. The room was “clean” yet the bathroom smelled like sewer. There was also a baby cockroach who ended up hiding in a hole behind the toilet. There are no fans for your room and no vents to circulate any type of air flow. No AC, very humid and hot do to no circulation. Woke up with bites thinking it was a mosquito at first… ended up being BED BUGS. Do not stay here.

THERE ARE BED BUGS!! While staying at Casa Pepe two women checked out early due to bed bugs, I stayed one more night after they left and I noticed bugs myself. The following afternoon every mattress (except mine + my friends) was flipped on it’s side and stripped of the bedding. All the bedding was in plastic garbage bags. I spoke with reception and they refused to help. The receptionist was hostile and only offered a change of sheets. I had to change hostels and received NO REFUND.

i’ve stayed in many hostels and this the WORST hostel I have ever stayed in. DO NOT STAY HERE!!! THERE ARE BED BUGS!!! We have pictured evidence and several girls left room due to the same issue. When we went to speak with the receptionist to request to move rooms, she was SO RUDE!!! She refused to have us change rooms OR give a refund. She was disrespectful, immediately arguing with us & saying she wouldn’t do anything until her manager came back in the morning. DO NOT STAY HERE!!

Location was perfect and had a friendly staff but the room was horrible. I booked the private room with private ensuite, but the room had weird odour, water started leaking from the toilet bowl and i am not sure if there were bed bugs or what, but i started feeling itchy after spending like an hour in the room. There was no AC , no fan.. but we got a fan for the room by submitting our passport.

As of April 28, 2024 they have bedbugs. I stayed on the first floor and it was so loud and impossible to fall asleep, I used noise cancelling headphones and still woke up several times a night. You can’t close the windows to keep the noise out because there are no fans and it gets HOT. Toilet was separate from the sink in the dorms which was weird, because how will you wash your hands? Bed and pillow were super uncomfortable. The location is close to a lot of food, pharmacies, and attractions.

Bed bugs! I stayed there in December for 1 night and now I have a full infestation in my house. I can't say for sure this is where they came from but there are several complaints already in Hostel world and the staff being aware of it. You do not want to risk having bedbugs in your house and having to pay 3-5k € for an exterminator.

Les lits avec les rideaux sont très bien et l’hôtel est bien situé. A part ça… il s’agit plus d’un hôtel que d’une auberge. Il y a plus de 20 dortoirs mais une cuisine minuscule qui contient deux personnes, avec deux fourchettes et une cuillère. Les parties communes du second étaient toujours sales, toilettes bouchés qui débordent, vomis…. Il n’y a pas vraiment de partie commune ci n’est le rooftop mais ce n’est pas le lieu idéal pour rencontrer du monde. Et jl y a des punaises de lits.

April 9: Update - they finally refunded me after I posted the below review so I’m removing the video of the bed bug. April 2: I got 16 bed bug bites in late January of 2024 and left immediately once I realized. They apologized and gave me a free breakfast but I still had to put all my belongings in a hot dryer to kill them. It was a complete nightmare. I told them I would give them a decent review if they refunded me and they agreed to refund me. I message them once a week but still no refund - so here’s my honest review. Other people in the beds next to me also saw bugs in their beds. 😣

This hostel is full of BED BUGS, I should have read the reviews before booking a bed there. I saw two of them straight away when I went to bed, they were just crawling outside the curtain wholes of the bunk bed, meaning the inside was probably full of them… When I told the staff the next day they did not offer any solution. Also booked a lucha libre tour with them (45€!) that they canceled, and they took more than 3 weeks to refund me, after I sent several messages. Awful stay

lovely place to stay.good vibe and ability to contain party and chill at the same time. however, note that they still have a bed bug problem. I had asked before checking in and they told me it was resolved. but within 10 mins of being in the hostel I heard a girl go to the counter saying "I found more bed bugs"

Beware - this location has bed bugs. We had to flee as fast as possible, and they refuse to give a refund for the night we left despite numerous attempts to communicate with their reception.

We found a bed bug in our unit at 6pm - there were no other units available so they promised us a refund, but several days later we found out they didn't refund the night that we had to leave due to their health and sanitation issue. I stayed here in 2021 and it was excellent, but the cleanliness has gone downhill since then. On top of the bedbugs the bathrooms smelled terrible when we arrived and the customer service throughout this issue didn't reassure us at all.

Bedbugs! I had them in my bunk and noticed before i was able to put items down. At first staff said there was no other rooms but after i threatened to cxl my reservation I was given a private room for the night. The private room shower didn’t drain and created puddle at my feet. Was so happy to get out of there the next day. The rooftop area is nice though and good location in city center

Well this stay surprised me. The dorm was cramped. The common shared bathrooms were disgusting. They got cleaned once a day and by the evening were just horrible. The shampoo, body wash and paper towels were empty and not refilled. I miss having a free breakfast ( you now pay for it and it's half of what it used to be). They do not stop people from bringing food into the dorms or smoking in the bathrooms. The shared work area is also where people eat- hard to do a Zoom call and be professional when the person next to you is chewing. Also they should add some office space or phone booth rooms that one can have a call in without all the loud noise or distractions. I was in a female dorm with 6 beds - my bed was sagging - a new mattress is needed. There were 3 of us in the dorm and on the last night 2 more girls came - they were in their bunks with their bags and food. They left in the early morning. The one girl that was in the top bunk above them noticed bed bugs - one on her sheet and one on the wall. Since the 3 of us had been there for a couple days and none of us had bites we figured it came from the new 2 girls. When she went and reported it - she was told to pick another bunk bed and that someone would come and clean the room - it was really brushed off as no big deal. The staff did not come to us and say "hey take your stuff out because we are going to spray the room". I was surprised at the response and lack of concern. I think the hostel is not as nice as it once was and that it is not run efficiently. It used to one of my favourite places to stay but now I think I will have to look for an alternative place.

After being bitten a few times during my first night, I discovered a bed bug in my bunk. I took a photo and told reception, and packed up at 12:30am. By 1am I was in a new, private room. There were a few communication issues around the refund but I eventually got my money back at the end of the day. I was told there *is* a problem with bed bugs and “we are doing our best to control it and get over it.” I moved to the Selina ASAP.

The atmosphere is great! The food and drinks on the terrace are tasty. All around good vibes from everyone. Staff is very friendly. The only issues I had is the female dorm I was in had bed bugs and saw a cockroach. I got numerous bites and hope I didn’t bring any new friends home. The hostal also did not have water a couple of times to shower/flush. The communal bathrooms should be cleaned more often as the trash bins were always overflowing with used toilet paper.

All the free tours they offered were great, but I found bed bug(s) in my bunk. They couldn’t move me because the whole hostel was rented out, however, they did change all the linens in my room and fumigate the whole floor I was on including all the shared spaces. They handled it appropriately, however I wish it hadn’t been a thing. Also, the shower/plumbing in the room I was in wasn’t great and had a definite mildew smell. However, I would still recommend this place to others and stay again

I would give a 0 if I could. BED BUGS! Female dorm had bed bugs! My hostelmate saw them. We got so many bites! Common area bathrooms are disgusting with no toilet paper and toilet paper overflowing from the trash can and all over the floor. The hostel also ran out of water a couple times I was there. Toilets and showers did not work.

Unfortunately I had to rate this hostel a one as I was bitten to death by bed bugs on my first night. The staff were very apologetic and offered to change rooms, however, the damage was already done.

Avoid at all costs. There were bedbugs in my bed and multiple girls’ beds. Not only were they not given a new room, but it’s been weeks and I still have not gotten a refund despite multiple requests. I have bites all over my legs and have had to wash my stuff multiple times.

BED BUGS, AVOID THIS HOSTEL! We had them on the fourth floor and other people here we met had them on the second floor, dorms and private rooms. We had bites and found at least one dead one in our room. Even apart from bed bugs the cleanliness was pretty bad, like sheets were covered in hair etc. The hostel otherwise had a good atmosphere and things to do. Although the rooftop bar/restaurant is very understaffed and the happy hour/power hour thing was kind of a rip off

Bed bugs everywhere. I had bed bug bites all over my body. Couldn’t wait to leave. The sheets were nasty and smelled like a frat house. The area wasn’t bad restaurants and a lot to do nearby. The rooftop bar is overpriced. It’s like management thinks only Europeans stay in this hostel. If you come back late after going out they will lock the front gate (understandable for security purposes) but I waited 10 minutes ringing the bell waiting for someone to open the door. Def won’t stay again.

El hostal esta muy lindo, perfecta la ubicación, puedes caminar a todos lados, el metro y metrobus a unas calles. Lo unico fue que encontre en mi cama unos bichos al parecer chinches por las ronchas que me dejaron, reporte con las chicas de recepcion, pero a mi parecer no le dieron la importancia que deberia, en todos los años que tengo hospedandome en hostales nunca me habia pasado algo asi, espero puedan darse el tiempo de tomar medidas conta eso, ya que el hostal esta muy lindo.

BED BUGS. I found bed bugs in my bed during my stay at Casa Pepe. Looking at recent comments it seems it is not the first time it happens and that the hostel didn’t take any measure to solve the problem. That said, the hostel refunded me immediately (and I left in the middle of my stay, as there was no other bedrooms available) when I told them about the issue.

BED BUGS!! Beware. I really wanted to love this property and I do think it’s a great place if you have no problems. I woke up on my first morning to bed bugs in my bed, and the staff only offered to change the bedding or to refund me. The policy to resolving issues is to keep people quiet by refunding - they don’t want to try and work with people to amend the issue. They then tried to insinuate that I had brought in the bed bugs even after they admitted that yes they have had issues with bed bugs on the sec

BED BUGS! Found bed bugs, reported to reception who told me they had no other rooms (hostel isn’t full) and I would have to leave at 21.30 and find somewhere else. Still waiting for them to reply to me about a refund.

BED BUGS!! If you are assigned one of the rooms on the second floor (or possibly anywhere) be very careful and check your bed and sheets. Our group found bed bugs our second night in one of the bunks. To their credit they re-funded part of our stay but wouldn't go any further than that (No paying to wash our clothes or fully refunding the stay). The room also had mold growing in a corner by the shower due to it leaking every time it was used. 0/10 Very disappointed

To start with the bad things: bedbugs Found two bed bugs crawling on my bed on the second day there. I have never faced this issue in other hostels so I was suitably shocked. I told the staff and they didn’t seem super concerned, but they nonetheless sent the cleaners in who grabbed the towel and sheets and put them in the wash and moved me to another bed in the same room. HOWEVER, instead of quarantining that bed or perhaps calling professional exterminators, they moved a guy into that bed, a mere hour after I moved beds due to complaining about bed bugs. The room itself was an 8 bed room which was decent but was on a busy road so was very busy and loud- be prepared to use the earplugs and an eye mask if you have it. Outside of the room you can hear people coming back drunk at all hours so again, if you value sleep, this hostel is much like others in that it is loud! The toilet is okay, and the shower and bathroom is quite run down. Not super clean and definitely needs to be remodelled. Shower could do with somewhere to put your shampoo/conditioner etc. The pros: Casa Pepe was wonderfully social- we loved the rooftop as a meeting point to go for “power hour” margaritas or beers unlimited for 80pesos. The food on the rooftop is somewhat expensive, but the location is great and you can get by fairly easily by walking or cycling from the hostel.

Overall was a good hostel however I did have bed bugs in the curtain of my bed and woke up with bites all over me. The rooms are actually quite clean but unfortunately my bed had bed bugs. Despite this the hostel staff managed quite well by coming in a cleaning the room the next day.

!!! Bedbugs aanwezig in het hostel. Had het al gehoord over een andere kamer, dus was alert, maar helaas was het bij mij ook het geval. Beiden op tweede verdieping. Ik kreeg een refund, dit was netjes. Maar ik heb het zelf tegen de rest uit mijn kamer moeten vertellen. Er werd niet eens direct actie ondernomen om het te bestrijden en ze leken het geheim te willen houden, doordat ze het zouden waarderen als ik het niet door zou vertellen.

!! After hearing multiple guests complaining about bedbugs and finding them myself I wanted to cancel my 3 nights booked at casa Pepe. The manager first tried to convince me to stay, but when I explained not feeling comfortable, promised me I could cancel and receive a full refund. I paid €50 per night, which I find extremely expensive for a hostel, and eventually paid €28 to stay another place that is not infested with bedbugs. I went back 3 times because I didn’t receive the refund and they promised me I would receive it. 3 weeks later I still haven’t and received it, nor will anyone reply to the emails I have sent. Also when we told the staff about the bedbugs they asked us to keep it from the other guests. Of course I understand that bedbugs are hard to avoid completely and that this can happen, but other hostels I’ve been were quick to alert their guests to take action and very helpful to prevent further discomfort. Extremely disappointed in this hostel.

Had a good time! A lot of nice other travelers. But a bit scared cause a guy in my room told me about bedbugs in my room the same day I was checking out… told the hostel about it.
