Ostello S. Fosca - CPU Venice Hostels

I stayed in a 6-bed female dorm, which was simply but adequately equipped: a bed, a large personal locker with a lock, a table, chairs, and bedside tables. There were power outlets and light switches by each bed, which was very convenient. The room had air conditioning, which was a big plus, although we couldn’t find the remote control. There was also a private bathroom for the six guests, with two showers (one toilet in the shower area) and three sinks with mirrors. Towels were not provided by default. There was a heated towel rail/radiator, but it wasn’t warm. The Wi-Fi worked well. The shared kitchen is equipped with everything you need for both cooking and reheating food. There is also some free food available, so if you arrive when the shops are closed, you won’t have to go hungry. There is a separate, large luggage storage room, which is very convenient if you arrive before check-in or leave after check-out. I also really liked the well-maintained and comfortable Italian-style courtyard with tables where you can sit and relax. The hostel itself is always quiet and peaceful. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The location is good, in a quiet area with a grocery store nearby. It’s about a 20-minute walk to Piazza Roma and around 25 minutes to San Marco. Good to know for travelers: there's a tourist tax that must be paid at reception. Areas for improvement: 1. Bedding. Fresh, clean linen was provided, but there was no blanket or duvet, only a sheet. With the air conditioning running 24/7, it could get chilly at night. 2. Showers. The showers could be cleaner. There was an unpleasant smell and some visible mold. A rubber mat would also be helpful. 3. Lighting. Only general room lighting was available. Individual lights by each bed would be much more convenient and less disturbing to sleeping guests. 4. Insects. After three nights, I developed some itchy bites on my legs. I’m not sure whether they were caused by mosquitoes or bedbugs, which was concerning. The staff kindly addressed the issue and provided insect-repellent products, but the cause of the bites remains unclear.

Me and my son got bug bites over night. It seems like bedbugs even it looks clean. No Ac, have to keep the fan on all night. No toilet supply, no tower, has to bring everything. Not convinced to tourists.

Lo único bueno fue q te dejaban usar la cocina y llegar por tu propia cuenta con llave personal Casi todo , tenia “chinches” la cama o pulgas , me pico toda la noche , la ducha estaba con telaraña en las ventanas y se notaba q le colocan luz baja para q no se vea lo ASQUEROSO que está todo el baño

Me and my travelling partner were eaten alive by bed bugs. Both our legs were covered in bites the next morning. Very disappointed and thankfully it was only one night but not a pleasant experience. It’s a 20 minute walk from the attractions and the staff are nice, so not bad but really hard to look past the bed bugs

I waited a while to write this because I didn't want to scare anyone or tarnish a reputation... but our room had bed bugs. Our beds didn't have it, but the girls sleeping next to the wall were bitten by the bugs. It was also extremely loud at night due to the boats and ducks on the canals. Luckily we were only in Venice for 1 night.

Very good value and great location but members of my group were complaining about bites, possibly from bed bugs.
