Youth Station Hostel - Rome -

It’s just a very ordinary hostel (i would originally give a rating around 5) with below-average conditions that has abnormally good reviews. They would cancel the booking when you check out, so there would be no way to leave a review as a real person. This review is submitted only because I contacted hostelworld customer support and reported them.

I enjoyed my stay here only cause of the people I had in my dorm, the owner was lovely and was trying to help or chat where he could. But it was just a weird place, first we got back to the hostel at midnight to find one of the workers in our room he didn’t say anything to why he was in there which just made me feel a bit concerned. The desk wasn’t always managed so when people were checking in they would leave a note on the bench with the card to their room so people could self check in.

Marco the owner came into our room repeatedly at night during our stay. After the first night, we wanted to check out due to: BED BUG BITES, mould, no AC, but Marco was aggressive and lied about being unable to cancel our stay so were forced into paying. BE WARNED, the reviews are so high for this on hostelworld since if you have a complaint, Marco will cancel your booking after you leave so you are unable to leave a review. Very strange and unsafe hostel. Not recommended for girls or women.

No recomiendo el lugar, requiere mantenimiento, las habitaciones no están en las mejores condiciones (además de que el personal entra a los cuartos constantemente y las camas tienen chinches. Además de que te cobran más de lo que aparece en la página de hostel world

Weirdest place I've stayed. There are multiple people that kinda work there but stay there? I have no idea..they just lurk around. There is rarely ever a receptionist. In my room someone fell through the top bunk and landed on the guy on the bottom. The beds are basically made of legos. Terrible. One of the lurkers came inside our room at midnight and got someone out of bed to make him check in since there was no worker earlier. Marco is cool, but other than that, extremely weird vibes.

I communicated that I would be arriving at the hostel at 02:15 due to my flight delay. However, I was informed that the reception would close at 01:00. Fortunately, I managed to persuade them to keep the reception open until my arrival. Upon check-in, they encountered system issues, stating that I could only make a cash payment, with credit card transactions permitted only in the morning. At 09:30, a cleaner entered the room for cleaning, and the strong smell of cleaning products was quite di...

Room keys deactivated on two separate days one time was at 3:00am when there weren’t any staff present. Thankfully found the number and was able to get assistance at 5 in the morning. There was no airflow and a friend left with bed bug bites.

One of the worst hostels I ever stayed in. - Small unclean beds - Shower with no water pressure. Just the drops coming out of it - No party area or other activities that you could do. Very cold in general!

I don’t know how this place is rated so highly. Only pro is that it is ideally located close to the metro. Cons include - Bathrooms were filthy - Air con is centrally controlled at the front desk and turns off after about 2 hours. We had to go to the desk at 1am and 3am to get them to turn it back on. There is no remote in the rooms. - A staff member (I think the owner?) used our room as a thoroughfare at 11pm which I felt was not okay. - Unreliable hot water in the showers

I stayed for 6 days! Booking on the website got me a better deal

Good place and If I go back to Rome this gonna be my first place to stay.

This place was super social and lots of fun, and super easy to get to all the attractions via metro. I booked an extra night as I was enjoying my stay and it was actually 15% cheaper on their website...

Youth station hostel was super helpful with my stay. I was landing on the last flight to Rome and the manager messaged me personally to show how to enter the hostel to find my key even though i was arriving past check in time. The price was very affordable too, everything very clean, the the staff extremely kind. Just two stops from termini. Would recommend 100%
