Aloha Hostel

NOT SAFE FOR WOMEN! I booked a women’s dorm, the room had no lock- men could come in while we slept. Only 1 main bathroom- see through glass shower door for men & women together, toilets had signs but men used the girls stall anyway. A member of staff harassed us and we felt incredibly unsafe- the full story is posted on google reviews- read it before booking. When I reported incidents to the owner, he made excuses and took no responsibility. Stay away as a young woman.

Do not stay here. My friend and I were supposed to stay for 3 nights but left after the first night. This is not a hostel for backpackers - it is a dorm for live in locals. No lock on the bedroom door, older aged men living there, shower door was almost see thru. Not what we expected at all. Do yourself a favour and just stay in Lagos.

À 11h pile, on m'a demandée de partir alors que j'étais juste assise à l'extérieur afin de réfléchir à la suite de mon itinéraire. Le réceptionniste était agressif et m'a fait écouter le message vocal de sa boss qui hurlait au téléphone. Des fous. Il m'a mise dehors de façon agressive... Usually I avoid rating but this hostel was nightmare. Firstly even though towel was included they didn’t gave it and they are not picking up your call for checkout even after the reception hours(10 am). When I asked the receptionist if I can charge my phone. His response was sorry since you checked out you can’t stay in the property not even common area we have to clean

no locks on doors to the rooms. dirty bedding, and on the whole a really peculiar atmosphere. I didn't feel comfortable.

Hostel overall had nice facilities and beds were comfortable. The atmosphere was not good however as there were multiple live in locals who treated the room as their own and constantly played videos out loud and talked across the room at all hours of the day. It made for a very uncomfortable environment and I would not have felt very safe if I was alone. Certainly not a hostel for a solo traveler as it seemed to mostly be occupied by full time residents. Would not recommend for youth travelers.

we had the private room for one night and can not recommend this hostel and would not come again. - the private room is very small and has just a tiny little window, fells like prison cell - no clean sheets, bed was disgusting - the shared showers have almost transparent doors - very weird atmosphere in the hostel - owner is a strange person, used the kitchen and was cooking till late in the night and very loud - a lot of people staying there were workers and old, not a nice atmosph...

Staff was unhelpful and they only accept cash but can’t give any change… bathrooms didn’t have toilet paper and floors were wet.

Simple and clean. I just needed a place to sleep and the place was very functional and clean. I liked that they had a kitchen too.

This was decent for a night. I booked here so I could hike at Carvoeiro. The door to the dorms didn’t lock and the people who were staying seemed like long-termers. The hostel was conveniently located to the center of town. As a heads up they only accept cash for payment. The room did have windows which helped for fresh air. Plenty of locker storage as well. However, the sheets weren’t clean. The host was friendly and kind.

Muy bien ubicado en el centro, un personal muy amable y sitios agradables para estar de chill. La habitación privada tiene un baño privado y es muy cómoda.

Excellent little hostel. Not too many beds so it is quiet and clean. Staff Caio is very friendly. If you want to meet people maybe not the best place. You can only pay cash there.

This Hostel was great! From the Moment we arrived here we were welcomed so kindly. The rooms are clean, comfortable and have everything you need. The kitchen is also really good. It’s big and has all you could ask for. There is a cute little balcony where you can eat which is perfect . The bathroom and the rest of the hostel is good too. Also the hostel is pretty central and has all the necessary things close by ( supermarket, restaurant, bar,…). Me and my friends loved it here !

Very quiet hostel, not social at all and it’s kinda boring. Clean place but the bathroom is seenable for both male and female :)

Everything was great, no complaints at all, could be improved if there were curtains for privacy in the 8 mixed bed room but other than that it was perfect. Everyone was very kind, the location is a little far from Praia de Rocha but a cheap short uber and you’re there!

Atendimento espetacular. Quero elogiar a limpeza e o cheirinho bom das roupas de cama. Tudo muito limpinho e organizado.

The worst mattress I ever slept on it since I started travel back in the early 2000s, very thin and worn. Fortunately there was a free bed in the room so I could use a second mattress to thicken up and afford to sleep. Apart from that the structure is fine and the personal very kind. Very close to the center and a bit noisy at night as windows are single glazed

Aloha hostel is a nice small hostel with a homey atmosphere. What makes it special is its manager Julio. He is exceptionally welcoming,helpful,friendly and attentive to the guests needs. Julio is by far the greatest asset of this hostel. He keeps this hostel spotless and transforms it into a home. I was also quite impressed by the great showers. What could be improved is the dorm's door (always unlocked, no key). I would certainly return to Aloha Hostel if Julio was there.

Très propre, bien situé, logement agréable avec un bon rapport qualité prix le seul bémol sont les chambres qui n'ont pas de verrou et les chambres de douche assez transparente

Don Julio Cesar was super kind. The hostel is extremely clean and super well located. I loved it that there’s a quite policy everyone respects and follows so you will really be able to rest at night.
