The Walrus Hostel

Almost certain there’s bed bugs, a staff member removed all of the sheets and curtains off a bed in the room and then sprayed it with something and then when I left the next day woke up with bites all over me. Showers and toilets need a good clean and there is not enough for the amount of people staying. Kitchen is small. Free breakfast is fine quite basic though. Location is quite central to the main tourist attractions like London eye and Big Ben.

Location is nice, close to everything but in my room there were a bed bugs on my neighbors bed. She couldn’t sleep and the emergency number wasn’t working. She got bites all over her body and had to stay up all night. After that news sleep wasn’t be nice

Fue una gran estancia, la gente y el equipo, muy agradables, lamentablemente identificamos presencia de chinches de cama y aunque no es culpa directamente del hostal, deben procurar procesos de fumigación. Solo por ese detalle pensaría seriamente en si volvería. Pero por lo demás, cumple con las expectativas.

Bitten all over by bed bugs

Staff are friendly and helpful. The only problem is bed bugs ;’(

I stayed one night and they have a really nice free breakfast with Vegan milk even for the cereal which I really appreciated a lot and are very centrally located. Private showers were very nice too and the German shepherd dog at reception is adorable! Staff was also kind and friendly, helping me store my stuff until check in. There is quite a nice chill area in the main pub/reception area with board games, lounge space, etc. Unfortunately, I have to state the not-so-great here too... The train noise is extremely loud all night; the breaks shriek pretty much constantly so if you're a light sleeper you simply won't enjoy it here. I didn't really care about that and I did hear that the train stops at midnight although I heard it after that. Perhaps it stops at some point but idk because I fell asleep. I slept fine but it's kind of hot in the rooms and the fan was broken so we had to have the windows open (which didn't really help with the train noise). I also kept feeling as if something was biting me almost as soon as I got into bed and sure enough tiny welts appeared on my hand, and suddenly I had about 10 all over my ankle. I searched my bed but didn't see anything so I thought maybe I had walked through a spider nest or something and didn't notice so I just went to sleep. The next day my whole leg was covered in bites and I think it must have been this hostel because I stayed at the same place for two weeks before and didn't have anything until coming here. Pretty disappointing because this is the first time in over a year of traveling I've ever gotten bitten by bed bugs :(

The cleaning was not good and there were bed bugs on the bed, terrible

La pieza no tenia inodoro, solo ducha. Además tengo la leve sospecha de que habían chinches en mi cama, tengo unas picaduras muy raras y diferentes a las de mosquito.

Unfortunate Bedbug Incident I spent quite some time researching different accommodation options for my trip to London. One of my top priorities during this process was ensuring that the place I chose had no reports of bugs, especially bedbugs. I opted for this particular property because, during my research, I didn't come across any reviews mentioning bedbug issues. Since check-in had to be completed before 11 PM, I completed the online check-in process on Friday afternoon. I arrived in London around 1:30 AM on Saturday and reached the property at approximately 2 AM. I contacted the host via WhatsApp, received the access codes, went up to my room, and got into bed. About 20–30 minutes later, I felt something moving on my arm. When I turned on the light, I saw bedbugs in the bed. I immediately gathered my belongings, called the reception, and sent photos via WhatsApp. A very kind and empathetic lady responded. As soon as I explained the situation, she offered a full refund without hesitation and asked how else she could assist. She kindly stayed with me for almost an hour, making sure I was okay and helping however she could. I’m truly grateful for her understanding and professionalism. That said, bedbugs are a serious concern for me. To avoid taking them with me, I had to discard the clothes I was wearing. Unfortunately, this incident happened between 2 and 3 AM, so I couldn’t find immediate transportation back, and I was hesitant to try other hostels since many also had reviews mentioning bugs. I left the hotel around 3 AM. Unfortunately, the presence of bedbugs made for a very uncomfortable night.

I thought the bar area was relaxing and comfortable. the bed was comfy . bathroom clean . I think I have been bitten by bed bugs as my right arm has some lumps . apart from bed bugs . thought was a good hostel. the 2 workers in bar were nice and friendly and did a good job . not happy been bitten but apart from that it is a good hostel

Perfect location, but bedbugs exist! kind staff.

Apart from bedbugs and one broken locker the rest was good, especially the location. The rooms are exactly next to the train rails but you can sleep if you use the earplugs, close the window and be tired enough.

BEDBUGS ALERT!! During my stay at The Walrus, I found bedbugs in my bed. The staff’s response was shockingly indifferent; they simply told me to shower and change beds. With no on-site laundry, I had to travel 20 minutes to clean my clothes, wasting my time and money. The ordeal disrupted my stay, causing significant stress and sleepless nights. The overall hygiene and maintenance of the hostel were questionable. I would not recommend this hostel due to poor hygiene and unresponsive staff.

Bed bugs!!!!

I HAVE BEEN EATEN BY BED BUGS, i killed 16 bed bugs the first night, I spent all the night and the next day scratching, i wanted to change room or bed but they said that they used spray and it's all clean now, and second night again a nightmare full of bed bugs and I had to leave hostel in the night and going to sleep in another hostel to sleep in clean place. Under the bed there are 5cm of dirtyness with pieces of food, socks etc....

A pior acomodação que eu já fiquei na vida. Barulho insuportável do metro, parecia dentro do quarto e a pior parte foi que tinha bed bugs na cama. Quando eu deitava começava a sentir muita coceira, tanto eu quanto meu marido. Fomos reclamar e a princípio se recusaram a trocar o lençol, pedindo foto pra provar pq não acreditaram no que dissemos. Depois de eu muito reclamar, finalmente vieram trocar e melhorou um pouco.
