Boom Hostel Khao Sok

do NOT book your floating bungalow tour through this hostel it was an awful experience with an insanely overbooked tour ours had 30+ people which completely ruined our itinerary and experience. the hostel itself is very basic nothing really to offer it did also get infested with moths at one point which was tough because you had to take your shoes off.

I joined the 2D1N Coral Cave tour with Boom Hostel in Khao Sok National Park and it was extremely disappointing. The guide spoke barely understandable English, the bamboo “rafting” was just a short motorized ride, we slept on thin mattresses on the floor, food portions were minimal, and we were falsely accused of stealing at the bar. The schedule was unclear, wildlife spotting was poorly timed, and the overall organization felt chaotic and unprofessional.

I had bed bugs in my bed, I saw 3 of them! when I showed staff they were concerned but felt like they already knew this and did nothing about the situation!

The worst hostel I have ever stayed at. The scam you on booking stuff from them. Like a taxi to the airport and then charge you an additional $1000 bath

Avoid boom and chillax at all costs!! Booked an overnight trip through them to the Khao Sok national park where one of the guides died, 22 people got trapped inside a cave for hours, another guide broke his hip and plenty more injuries, all because the money greedy t***s disregarded any concerns for our safety and took us to an off limits cave during rainy season. Refused to give the money back at the end because in their words “well it wasn’t you that died”. Absolutely shady c***s. Avoid.

We had such a terrible experience with this hostel please do not book here. We had an extremely dangerous incident when we booked a tour through them and staff literally laughed in our faces when we tried to talk to them about it. They shouldn't be in business it's unsafe for tourists.

The hostel itself is fine and Khao Sok is beautiful but our tour was disappointing due to disorganisation (4 of us were put in different floating bungalows so didn’t have an english speaking guide; shared accommodation means sharing a bed with a stranger; we barely had time to swim and didn’t have any chance to kayak unlike what the pdf said; others paid the same price for en-suites/own bed). The hostel staff listened to our complaints but it would have been nice to get some money back.

The stuff you can book there sucks (in my opinion) and they do not communicate what the plan is for any of the tours at all! Also you have to walk through other dorms to get to your own dorm which was very akward. And the bathrooms smelled like faeces

staff forgot about us even though we talked to them several times via email, when we arrived at 21:30 the reception was empty and we had to text them, it took them several minutes to figure out our booking, was a bit weird and annoying, the rooms were okay, they charge extra for menstrual stains which is really misogynistic

The hostel itself was very nice, dorm was a bit small but was comfortable for what we needed and staff were friendly and helpful. Some form of social area would be a big plus. However the communication for the floating bungalows was confusing. I was told to book two nights but didn’t need to and was unable to get the second night refunded which was frustrating and there was a bit of confusion over the amount of payments we were making and what they were for. Overall a very good hostel though.

The location of the hostel is really central in Khao Sok, you can easily walk everywhere. The staff is really nice and ready to help. The atmosphere is really relaxed. They provided me with a lot of activities to do during my stay. They can also organise transportation towards a lot of different locations.

Great hostel to stay in for one night before the park tours. The hostel staff were incredibly helpful with helping me arrange my bungalow tour and onward transport. The beds were also very comfy, however there was a lack of privacy curtains. However, rooms were very clean and showers hot with good pressure. It is also within walking distance to bars/restaurants in the village.

The staff were lovely, hangout space was decent and free water refill. However the basement room (one of the dorms) bathroom was very small with no sink to wash your hands. To note there were no curtains on the beds if this is something you are keen for. Was great for helping to organise the bungalow national park stay!

Great stat, really comfortable rooms and good ac and some of the most comfortable beds we’ve stayed on. All staff are really nice also. Bathrooms are good but some rooms are abit of a walk to them. Would stay again😀

Great hostel for a quick stay before visiting the national park. Nothing special about it but very clean and super helpful staff who helps book everything!

Very friendly staff member at reception. Everything was very clean and the beds were comfortable. Booking Khao Sok National Park through the hostel was very easy, transport and luggage storage went smoothly, highly recommended :)

the lady at reception helped me book a tour for the national park for the next day. it was absolutely amazing. the hostel itself was very clean and our room had a nice balcony.

Vaag. Ik moest de trap af naar de kelder, hier zat een kleine kamer. De bovenste bedden hebben geen gordijn, onder wel. De bedden kraken vreselijk. Elke draai hoor je. Geen fijne nacht gehad. De badkamer is armoedig. Personeel is wel aardig.

Great place to stay the night before doing Khao Sok National Park. They could use more bathrooms and it’s not very social, but it was clean and in a good location.

This location was very clean and cozy, would definitely stay here again.

Okay place to stay. Clean rooms. They didn’t have curtains at the top bed so I couldn’t sleep that well. AC was on top of my bed so too windy… They organized Khao Sok lake trip which was nice tho.

Super convenient for a night before going to the national park. Comfortable, clean, and great location. I booked the national park tour with them and everything worked perfect. The staff was amazing and helped booking my ride to the next destination.

People stayed because had to go to Khao Sok, for 1 or 2 nights were ok, nothing special
