The pool and location were great. However there were bed bugs. No insolation for sound but that was expected as it’s a party hostel.

I’ve never written a bad review in my life, so this is how u know ITS BAD. (Bed bugs mentioned at the end) I’ve never had a problem in 4 years of hostels with mosquitos like this. There are NO mosquito nets, they make u buy bug spray at the front desk that doesn’t work (plus is just disgusting to sleep in a bed covered in bug spray). I didn’t sleep in 3 days because of the bugs, and I’m not being dramatic, this is unlike anything I’ve ever experienced. The HEAT. I laid in bed for 5 mins and was dripping in sweat. All they have is shitty fans that barely work, the heat was unbearable, it felt like a living hell. The light in the bathroom didn’t work, which they didn’t fix for 3 days, so showering and using the toilet in the dark. There is no warm shower water, the tap doesn’t even turn on. The cold water also doesn’t even get that cold LOL. The sink would leak every time u used the tap. The ceiling would also leak when it rained. They give u the thinnest possible sheet to sleep with, which is ok cuz it’s insanely hot, but the mosquitos do in fact bite u thru the blanket cuz of how thin. The music is BLASTING every single night till 3am, which they make clear as ur checking in, but the fact that there is NO ONE partying and they blast it, that is wild. Someone puked all over the bathroom and shower which isn’t the hostels fault, but staff didn’t clean it for a few hours after the first complaint. They DO NOT give u HAND soap. This was my last straw. 4 years travelling + staying in hostels and I have never been refused hand soap. That’s genuinely disgusting and ridiculous. The staff was quite rude and very unwelcoming. I’m not one to complain about stuff like that, but it was genuinely shocking how I was treated, and I’ve read reviews saying the same thing. The food was bad, both meals I ordered had hairs in it too. They also don’t give u keys for the room, that’s COOKED. That is very basic when it comes to hostels, I’ve never not had a key before. It’s basic human safety to have a KEY for a room, there’s no excuse for that. Now the bed bugs. I read some reviews after booking that said there were bed bugs, so I checked my mattress, and surely enough there was black dots all over it (I have videos). Which at first, I thought maybe it was black mold, but I asked some people and posted a video about it, which everyone agreed was bed bug shit. So I looked up what bed bug shit looks like and that was exactly it. If it was bed bugs or mold, both are equally VERY bad. It also explains why I was covered in 100s of bites (which has also never happened at a hostel before). I did show the staff the video of the mattress and complained about some things, I also checked out 3 days early because it was so awful. Staff said that they would text me about a refund, which is been almost 2 weeks, I’ve sent multiple texts, and they have not gotten back to me. I’ve stayed in endless hostels, and I’ve never had such a terrible experience and I’ve never felt the need to write a bad review. So don’t take this review lightly and DO NOT STAY HERE.

AWFUL. Check my google review for more details cuz this limits characters. Bed bugs, no keys for room, UNBEARABLE mosquitos in rooms and no bug nets (they make u buy their mosquito spray which doesn’t even help), heat is horrendous and all u get is s***** fans, music goes till 3am even when there’s no one there, staff were rude, hairs in both meals I ordered, rooms dirty, refused me hand soap. 4 years of hostels and never been refused soap or had such a bad experience. Do not stay here.

Woke up with bedbug bites. Asked to change rooms. The staff was nice enough to give us another room. Woke up with more bedbug bites.

They make it look much better in the photos! We stayed there for 5 nights to spend the last few days of our trip on the beach. I don’t even know where to start. The pool is filthy, the food was bad, the rooms were sweaty and had no privacy. I’m also convinced they had bed bugs as my friends and I were itching all night and now 3 days after leaving we’re still itching. Now that I think of it we didn’t see them change the bed sheets once, I think they just tidied up the beds to look clean. Also they blast music (bad music) late into the night, every night, even if there’s no one in the bar. The “party atmosphere” is really forced here, granted on our last night there was ~20 people drinking in the bar but the 4 nights before it was empty and music still played loudly til 1am. Lastly, on third night we all woke up around 5am to a girl in the room screaming, some drunk guy from the bar came into our room and tried to get in the bed with her while she was asleep. Thankfully we were a room full of guys and were able to help the girl but the hostel themselves were no help that night. Security had gone home so the two receptionists had to deal with it, and they were letting the guy come back into the room so we had to kick him out ourselves !! Just avoid this place, the wild rover may not look as good in the photos but you won’t have to deal with what we had, Psygon surf camp is also pretty good !

PROS: A wonderful view of the beach and a cozy terrace and courtyard CONS: Bed bugs. No soap in Dorm toilet. It's confusing after Covid that hygiene issues are not taken care of in the hostel. In addition, the sunset boating organized by the hostel took a nasty turn; while we were already on the boat, they suddenly started asking us for more money!

Not great, rooms werent vert clean, got bed bugs bites even when i switched beds. no ac so rooms are too hot to sleep in. the location is far away from main street and the whole place smells like sewage. Dont recommend

We went in low season so the fact it was quiet didn’t both us. However, what did bother us was excruciatingly loud music playing until 3am even though the only people partying were the volunteers. Not that I would be able to sleep anyway because it was so hot in the room and the fan did nothing. When we did wake up, my girlfriend was covered in bed bug bites. When we asked the reception if they wouldn’t mind paying for our PJs etc to be washed due to the bugs, they told us that the cleaner couldn’t physically see any so we would have to foot the bill ourselves. Decided to leave and stay somewhere else for our time in mancora.. there didn’t seem much point in extending our stay.

Got bed bugs. The staff didnt do anything just gave me a different bed. Didnt even switch the mattress. Staff at check in were rude. Our friend had to pay a late check out fee (price for an nights stay) when he ended up wanting to stay for another night they charged him AGAIN. Music is loud till late as expected so was not a bother to us.

absolutely terrible hostel. the rooms are so dirty the bathrooms too. sand everywhere. i got bed bugs there as well.
