the hostel was okay, overall dirty and dark there not much light in there and it feels a bit scary. the bar downstairs can be noisy, especially during karaoke nights and the isolation is not very good. i had trouble falling asleep. i also had an issue with bed bugs but the hotel staff reacted very well and the situation was handled quickly. overall it's an okay hotel, would not come again tho.

Got bedbugs here on the first night. I was told that the last time they had bedbugs was a couple months ago. Let them know in the morning and they fumigated the bed and changed the sheets. Asked for compensation and got €20. At least I could drink my own beers in the social lounge.

I’ve paid half as much for a hostel twice as nice. Woke up covered in bug bites that weren’t there the night before so there must’ve been bugs in the bed. The bathrooms have no ventilation so they stink of mildew and are super muggy for a while after anyone showers. My key stopped working twice as did the AC. The location was fine but not great by any means. OBVIOUSLY hostels are a budget stay but again, I would never pay what I did for this one again when there are much nicer ones everywhere.

Bathroom was dirty, I think there’s a reasonable chance the bed had bedbugs. We found bites 3 days after staying here in a private room. The staff was neutral at best. Not extremely welcoming and sometimes a little rude.

Amenities were out dated and not clean. Got eaten alive by bed bugs the first night and then switched rooms and continued to get bitten. My roommates in the second room had the same bites as well.

Everything was fine until my last night there! The guest who was staying above me found a bedbug, and reported it to staff. The staff changed their bed, but did not let anyone in the room know. I found out through word of mouth, and ended up not sleeping at all because I didn’t know if my bed also had bed bugs. I understand stuff happens but just be open about it! Maybe throw in a free drink or something.

Overall the hostel was fine, as one of the cheaper options in Rome you don’t expect anything luxurious. Location is good and the staff were helpful when needed. I was concerned going in about bed bugs after some reviews but the sheets and mattress I had were spotless and fresh so can’t complain on that. The bathrooms are in serious need of a deep clean however, the showers have black mould very visibly in multiple cubicles. The kitchen worked for what was needed, but similarly the fridge could use a good deep clean and more organising. Would still stay here again as the atmosphere was good, location was great and the room was sufficient for the price.

Warning for bedbugs!! I didn't see any reviews mentioning it on HW, but on Google there are. When I arrived I wanted to make my bed and (luckily before unpacking) found a bedbug in my sheets, so I left the room to tell the reception. No reaction of surprise or concern, so I guess it's a common problem (?). As they didn't want to give me a refund, cleaning compensation, or voucher for a different place, I let myself move up two floors. I think the bedbugs are not in every floor, but be careful!

BED BUGS!! There must be a huge infestation that has not been dealt with in a long time, as I left the hostel with over 30 bites on me after 3 nights, which I had to go to the doctors about. I have seen other reviews about bed bugs in room 21 so clearly its an ongoing issue!! Also had to hire a professional to check my room and luggage incase in brought them home which cost £180!! The exterminator was shocked at the number of bites in such a short time. Upon trying to contact the hostel for a refund, I was consistently turned away by staff and the manager on the phone. They were extremely unprofessional and rude. After reporting the room several days ago it has clearly not even been evacuated or cleaned as they still thought I was in it. I have been told by the manager to email in order to get a refund, but now the response has stated they need the supervisors to deal with it. Terrible customer service which has caused even more stress and anxiety. This place has to be reported for the infestation.

This place has bed bugs. They gave us no refund. They moved us to another dorm and pretended like they were doing us a favor, even though that is the bare minimum. All they did was change the sheets and now the beds are ready for more guests. Disgusting, and ruined our stay. Off to do all of our laundry, covered in bug bites!

BEDBUGS!!! Only realised when I left that I was covered in bed bug bits and unfortunately now have to get an exterminator to see if I have brought them home!!!!

Not a bad hostel. I think it helped meeting fun people there, as all of the communal spaces save the kitchen are bars. The bathrooms weren't the best and certainly weren't the cleanest, but the bedrooms were alright. I did not have any experiences with bedbugs here. Only reaoly s**** part is how early they close the downstairs bar and shuttle you upstairs, then close that bar two hours later. Could use soke linger hours to accomodate guests.

Bedbugs in the room. Me and my roommate told an employee this but he did not care. He said they change linen every day, as if that would solve the issue. Very rude employee also no refund although bedbugs. Since people will continue booking this hostel anyway, there is no need for the employee to remove bedbugs.

I'm disappointed. I've spent 50€/night and my bed was not clean: I ended up getting bed bugs, and my roommates too. By reading others' reviews, it seems that this problem has been happening for a while. The overall location is good, and the stuff was friendly, but the place is dirty and it lacks maintenance. For example, in the kitchen there was a piece of wood with some nails hanging out... Not recommended.

Location is good, staff was nice. We found bed bugs in our luggage after staying here, saw another review saying they found bed bugs in the sheets but didn’t see until after our stay. The bathrooms smell bad. Lockers are too small and our bags got full of dust when we put them under the bed (they have posters saying not to leave things on the ground or they will be removed by cleaning crew but they clearly don’t clean under the beds). Overall, don’t think I’d stay here again. Wasn’t terrible tho

The rooms and restrooms were very dirty and ugly, we found bed bugs in the sheets, the personal wasn’t nice only one employee in the front desk.

Myself and two of my friends arrived at the hostel late in the evening but quickly left upon expecting the room, more specifically the mattresses. The bathrooms attached to the rooms were both dirty and smelly. There were signs of bed bugs on my mattress and one of the girls in our room mentioned having bites on her legs after staying there several nights. We ended up having to spend additional money finding somewhere else to stay during our 5 days in Rome. Once we did find a new place, we were up until 4am washing all of our stuff. We spoke to the manager about getting a refund and he gave us an email, we still have not heard back from them.

Hostel was good, few cases of bed bugs

The location was fantastic and the rooftop bar was nice. There were also a good number of bathrooms for all the people. However there were bed bugs in multiple beds in our room and in at least one other room too.

The terrace bar was good and a very fun way to meet people. There were bed bugs in two of the beds in our room and one of our friends had bed bugs even in the new room he was moved to so he ended up sleeping on the floor. The shower was smelly and the water got everywhere. Location was good. Made life long friends in this hostel, shoutout to them.

Really conveniently located near the bus station, staff was really really sweet and helpful, easy luggage storage. Everything looked pretty clean but unfortunately woke up with multiple bedbug bites :(

Room is spacious, but old mattresses and shaky bunk beds. 😔 4. Heard from people that the hostel doesn’t wash blue color blanket on a bed. 🫢 5. Restroom is kinda dirty and doesn’t seem its properly cleaned/managed. 🤢 6. Good luck with a hot shower. Takes time to get it, but it cuts like after 3min or so. 😫 7. 5th floor bar: a beer costs €4 in a tiny cup. C’mon… why it is more expensive than a regular bar with that tiny size cup? 😤 8. I think the 5th fl bar closes midnight or something and good luck with the loud music and noise from people if you stay at 3rd and 4th floors. 🫢 9. I personally didn’t see any bed bug from my mattress, but I can see why people talked about beg bugs.. room is kinda dark. 🪳 10. There is an elevator, but super slow. I found it’s easier and faster to walk up. 🚶🏻 11. They offer a breakfast at €2.5 with a coffe and a small pastry, but i found a various places offer lower/better options around the hostel. Just use google map and find own your own. 😬 I think that’s all i have. It is just a hostel. Dont expect too much like a hotel. You pay what you get and in general Rome accommodations are not that great.

I went to this hostel last August (and I hesitated a lot to publish my review bc of this experience, but I'm not the only victim...). Very well connected to the center and all transport services. Employees were nice too and I met awesome people during my stay + near cool night bars and affordable restaurants. Except of those good things, my bed (and maybe all the room 21) was infested by bed bugs. I just want to laugh about it and not get angry. Those bed bugs had travelling for free from the Palace to my home like coronavirus. And icing on the cake, they didn’t wanted to give me a full compensation for THEIR mistake (only 57€ #ApplauseForTheCommercialGesture) that costs me almost 600€ for sanitize ALL my flat when I went back home. Shame on you. I hope the sanitary service will see our reviews of your lack of hygiene. If you wanna make non human friends, to bring them with you at your home and pay the triple price of your stay, you find your place.

This hostel has good location but bad amenities. First of all, the lockers are very small. Barely large enough to fit a duffel bag that isn’t weekend size—if you’re bringing a suitcase, that definitely will not fit in the locker. Secondly, the locker hole is extremely small. A slightly larger lock will not fit, and you will have to purchase one from them for €3. I have been to four other hostels in multiple cities in Italy just this past week, and none have charged for locks. My friend and I both bought locks, and THE LOCKS HAVE THE SAME KEYS. Anyone who buys a lock from the hostel will be able to OPEN YOUR LOCKER. Towels cost €3 as well, and they are the tiniest, flimsiest things ever. When the receptionist handed it to me I thought it was made of paper towel. The bedsheets and covers are obviously not washed well, as mine was covered with misc lint and dirt and even a few weird stains. Save your money and stay somewhere else. Just saw that multiple reviews have mentioned bedbugs, so I guess I will be checking my bed before I sleep tonight.

what a disappointment - the only good thing about this place is that it is close to the main train station. Otherwise, after 20 years of travelling and staying at hostels, this was the worst. No respect for those who wish to sleep a bit - yelling, running, doors slamming etc until 3 a.m. - the fridge is a "hot mess" , and the kitchen is uninviting. And now, I read that there is a bed-bug infestation? UGH! No excuse for this - and to know that we have maybe brought some bugs home ?!!!! AVOID unless desperate!

Multiple people I met here told me they had bed bugs in their rooms and I got some sort of bites while I was there. Don’t believe it was being handled well from what I heard. Also, rooms are not the cleanest in my opinion and the social atmosphere was not as good as i expected - for the high price I paid it was truly not ideal. Avoid at all costs

This place is infested with bed bugs! While it does have a very social atmosphere, the bed bugs ruined most of the fun I had here. On my second day I noticed bed bugs in my bed and notified staff, they were accommodating and tried to clean the room. But the cleaning was not thorough at all and had to spend another night with bed bugs and lost two whole days in Rome doing laundry. This was not an isolated incident either, several other guests I talked to complained of bed bugs as well! Ended up getting a refund and staying elsewhere for the rest of my stay in Rome.

El peor albergue en el que he estado, acabé con varias picaduras de insectos (por la forma yo diría que de chinches) por todo el cuerpo debido a que solo cambian parte de la ropa de cama entre cliente y cliente. Encima, la "sábana" que cambian hace muy difícil no estar en contacto con la manta o el cubrecolchón y para colmo, como tampoco asignan una cama concreta, la gente se acuesta donde le da la gana. Por lo que veo, el personal se dedica a excusarse cada dos por tres con este tema, diciendo que si desinsectan o que tienen previsto cambiar el protocolo respecto a las sábanas y las camas, pero ya os digo que ni lo han hecho ni tienen intención de hacerlo. Por lo demás, la limpieza y ventilación de los baños y espacios comunes es muy irregular, lo que da lugar a un olor a cerrado constante. La terraza tiene un bar que se llena todas las noches de borrachos armando escándalo y aunque cierra a la 01:00h, luego la gente sigue liándola por los pasillos sin que les digan nada. El único punto positivo es lo cerca que está de Termini, por lo demás, mejor buscar otro sitio.

me picaron chinches en este hostel. No es TAN sucio pero solo usan una sabana por cama lo que hace muy facil contagiarse o pegarse algo, pues hay un flujo muy alto de gente

It was a poor experience staying here. The bathrooms were poorly maintained - shower heads about to fall off the wall and grimmie surfaces. The public areas were also poorly maintained/cleaned. The spaces between the stairs and the lift had discarded towels lying on the floor, usually gathering dust and dirt. Bedrooms were okay - but do beware of bedbugs. Changed my sheets (not the duvet) after I told them but that was about it. Location is good to be near the central station, the surrounding area doesn't have much to do - pretty far from main attractions. The promised rooftop bar wasn't open a single night staying there.

Not the best or cleanest hostel I've stayed at. They only change out the top sheet between guests, not the fitted sheet covering the mattress. I, like a reviewer below, broke out in hives on the side I slept on - seemed initially to be different from bedbug bites (will see after a couple days), which they certainly don't seem to do any sort of check for those. I woke up with crazy itching on my left foot and left cheek. See attached photo for one of the beds after post-guest-departure cleaning: There is still the previous guest's hair on the side of the bed. Top sheets also weren't tucked under the sides of the bed, only laid out vertically. Ensuite WC also smelled very bad and had dirty floors throughout my stay. They do have cleaners every day - and from the ones I interacted with, all extremely nice people - the procedure for cleaning just doesn't seem very good. You only get a thin sheet to cover yourself with. If you're sleeping on the top bunk facing the vent, it gets really cold at night. Some of the people at the front desk were nice, others not as much. They lock the front door at night, which is good if you're concerned about safety in that sense. Definitely caters more to a younger party crowd, which is good or bad depending on what you're here for. It seemed to attract some other guests in my room who were really inconsiderate, unfortunately. I had multiple roommates who didn't use deodorant, would make calls or talk loudly in the morning/night when other people were trying to sleep, 'borrowed' bedding of other guests who checked in later, drank heavily and vomited in the room, spreading personal belongings across shared spaces like the single desk, etc. I know this isn't directly under the hostel's control, but it is something that did ultimately affect my experience. Close to 2 metro stations, so that was good. Edit because I can't respond to business replies: I of course don't use my full name here for privacy reasons; you obviously would not find a guest who registered with just their initials. You didn't leave an email address for me to contact. BTW, I'm still a guest here at time of writing (well, not for long; I'll be forfeiting the cost of the rest of my stay for better accommodations), but your front-desk staff hasn't been helpful when I've asked questions or made small requests in person, and some of your responses to more negative reviews here have not been very polite and instead very passive-aggressive. So it doesn't make sense for me to bring up any other concerns in a way that would identify me for potential retribution.

First of all the staff at this place were amazing really friendly and helpful. We stayed here for 3 nights and after the first night I had roughly around 70 bites from bed bugs, after investigating I found that my sheets and the bed below had nests in them as a result of not being changed from previous guests. Whilst the hostel is responsive and appears to be pro active to trip advisor messages they are not following up and providing a basic level of care, although they happily took our money. I have reviewed this place on google, hostel world and here, I also work in hospitality and will be spreading the word about this place, If this place was in Australia it would be shut down, someone needs to be held to account for this. Do yourself a favour and find alternate accomodation.
