Hatten leider ein Bettwanzen-Problem in diesem Hostel! Dafür können die Besitzer erstmal nichts, wie darauf reagiert wird allerdings schon. Zuerst wurde uns die Schuld an den Wanzen zugeschoben und dann doch als Alternative nach der zweiten Nacht ein Hostel-Wechsel angeboten - in ein 8-Bett-Zimmer am Stadtrand (wir hatten ein Vierbettzimmer gebucht). Nachdem wir das ablehnten, bekamen wir ein neues Zimmer im Hostel. Wir nahmen an und beschwerten uns nicht weiter (obwohl die Bisse juckten und anschwollen und wir mehrmals die Apotheke aufsuchten). Am nächsten Tag kam dann die Nachricht, dass wir das neue Zimmer verlassen und zurück ins Bettwanzen-Zimmer müssen. Der Besitzer versicherte uns dass nach einem ‚extinguisher‘ keine Wanzen mehr vorhanden wären und beschwerte sich bei uns über die extra Kosten. Unsere Zimmernachbarn log er an, dass der Mann aufgrund der defekten Klimaanlage da war. Wir buchten dann schnell eine neue Unterkunft und flüchteten aus dem Hostel.

Bed Bugs Alert! Nach zwei Nächten hatte ich unzählige Bisse im Gesicht und am rechten Oberarm. Zwei Besuche bei der Apotheke später verlangten wir ein neues Zimmer, nach mehreren Versuchen der Hostelleitung (Stavo) uns in schlechteren Hostels (schlechte Bewertungen oder katastrophale Lage) unterzubringen, bekamen wir das Zimmer nebenan, wo ich erneut 5 Bisse auf der Hand erlitt. Als wäre das nicht schon Frechheit genug forderte mich Stavo nach einer Nacht im neuen Zimmer auf, in das alte Bett zurückkehren. Ich verweigerte dies und suchte mir ein neues Hotel und wollte die Kosten rückerstattet bekommen. Daraufhin antwortet mir die Hostelleitung ich würde sie erpressen und mich damit strafbar machen. Ich habe weder Geld, eine Entschuldigung noch eine neue Unterkunft bekommen. Dieses Hostel und der Hostelleiter sind eine bodenlose Frechheit! Ich empfehle allen, dieses Hostel unter keinen Umständen zu besuchen.

Stayed for 3 nights in a twin room. The price includes breakfast which really is unheard of at the low price. However, dont get too excited, it's basically just jam butter and bread with coffee (oh yeah, if you dont like your coffee black, bring some milk/creamer!) The staff were very friendly - no complaints there. The location is excellent, centrally located for all most tourist attractions, nearest metro is akropoli, not too far at all, about a five minute walk. The bad points are: No hot water in the room. The ceiling fan wouldnt work independently from the ceiling light. It is noisy in rooms 11 and 12 which are ground floor front facing rooms. Bring ear plugs. We are savvy so we had them :), The window was jammed shut so no access to daylight, though this wasnt a major problem as we were at ground level and didnt want people off the street looking in. There was a vending machine, with beer priced very competitively so I was happy with that :) Hotel has a tiled outdoor area, nice place to spend 30 mins with a souvlaki and a beer after a hard day slogging around athens. room 11 and 12 had back to back wardrobes, with only a very thin division (I dont know if this is the same layout throughout the hotel) so if some one in the adjoining room was noisy putting clothes away, you hear this very clearly! The beds were a bit old and soft, but definitely no bedbugs when i stayed. Bathrooms were ok, kept clean, no shower curtain though so the whole floor gets wet. All in all, you generally get what you pay for and what I got was fair enough I suppose.

Great Location, bed bugs, three bed room, shared bathroom with all rooms upstairs, sound echos through halls, could get no Quality sleep
