Clyde Hostel

Super schmutzige Umgebung. Die Bäder sind absolut unhygienisch. Wir haben Bettwanzen mit nach Hause genommen.

This accomodation was the barest of the minimums ie. we slept (on very squeaky and hazardous beds, which did not have bed bugs 👍), we ate (the cutlery drawer was legitimately empty and one of the the 2 mini fridges available was broken/off), we showered (on a mouldy and smelly wooden mat), we used the toilet (and almost got locked in). The staff were nice but rather absent and the location was good. All in all, a bed is a bed.

I have stayed in many hostels, this was one of the worst experiences. Extremely dirty, staff were not helpful and unfriendly. Of course it was cheap, but it was nasty! The shower on the second floor felt like I was going to fall through the floor. the 3rd floor had a mold covered curtain that would cling to your body as you showered. Not to mention the rudely phrased signs everywhere in the hostel. The stairs were covered in filth. It had the vibe of a homeless shelter. We were told when checking out to leave the duvets on the bed because they only was the sheets. Thankfully we didn’t get bed bugs but that was just pure luck. In actuality, I thought they were just understaffed and that was the issue but we saw three staff members when checking out. I think the incredibly low price might attract a mentality that you don’t have to clean up after yourself since there’s rubbish everywhere. So people just add to all the mess. We ended up splurging to stay in the West End, which was great because that’s where we had the best night life. Spend the extra money and stay elsewhere!
