Tanita House

Super cute hostel with free breakfast and an amazing host. The ac worked so well. This is the perfect place to stay if you’re looking to relax in a beautiful hostel. There’s also a really good pasta restaurant directly outside!

Highly recommended for anyone wanting to stay in an old house.

If you’re staying in Chiang Mai and you haven’t booked tanita house, it’s time to pull your head in. This feels like a genuine hidden gem of a place with the most friendly stuff, beautiful artistic architecture, and clean, comfortable rooms. I would recommend this to any Chiang Mai traveller that has ever felt homesick whilst travelling overseas, tanita house will be your home away from home. Rest assured, I’ll be back.

Tanita House is nothing short of magical. The feeling of safety, security, homeliness, & comfort after coming home from a long day to this stay was bliss & everything from the breakfast to Aor’s friendliness (& great recommendations!) made the visit to Chiang Mai that much better. No notes. 10/10.

My host Aur was above and beyond kind. I could’ve stayed there for weeks! What a unique stay. Looking forward to coming back :)

Tanita House was our favourite stay in Thailand. Comfortable, clean, serene! On, the host, was so hospitable and made us feel very much at home. Note it is very much a relaxed escape, you won’t find a social scene on the property, but you will enjoy home cooked food, a private space, peace and quiet, and the old town and markets close by

Wonderful stay near the Ping River. The owner was incredibly kind and helpful, and the fresh fruit breakfast every morning was a highlight. The property is peaceful, charming, and feels like a home away from home. I would absolutely stay here again when I return to Chiang Mai.

I loved my stay at Tanita House! Aor was a delight and always brought a smile to my face. I loved that the hostel is close to the hustle and bustle of the old city but feels like an oasis away, just a 10-15 minute walk away from being in the middle of everything. I am definitely planning a return trip to Chiang Mai in the near future and a stay here will absolutely be on the menu.

I can't imagine a better place to stay in Chiang Mai. For being in such a perfect location, Tanita House is so quiet and peaceful! The grounds, the cute coffee shop, the bungalow--everything was spotless and charming! The host was kind and friendly and helpful, and the breakfast in the morning was delightful...just a wonderful place. I enjoyed my time there very much and would return.

We had such an amazing stay here! The hostel was in a great location, only 10 minute walk from old town. The room was clean, spacious and had everything we needed, we spent most evenings sat out on the decking outside our room as the atmosphere was so nice! The breakfast was delicious, and the host was also so lovely and helpful! The great thing for us is that we enjoyed the city, whilst coming back to the room and it being like we were in the middle of nature!

Tanita house est un oasis dans la ville. La chambre est spacieuse, la literie parfaite.Dans un ancien bungalow en teck avec énormément de charme.Aor est la quatrième génération à habiter ici. Elle fut une hôtesse adorable, toujours prête à nous aider. Nous recommandons fortement ce sympathique lieu.

Accueil très chaleureux d'Aor qui fait son maximum pour vous satisfaire : commande de taxi, conseils de visite et elle propose également la lessive. Toutes les chambres sont des bungalows en vieux tek et climatisées, cela a un charme fou. Je recommande.

La Tanita House est un havre plein de charme au cachet unique; un petit trésor niché dans un jardin au cœur de la ville, idéalement situé. La boutique d’antiquités, véritable musée à l’échelle du lieu, regorge de splendeurs d’autres époques. Du tout confort et une parenthèse hors du temps et hors du commun.

When I reflect on my time in Thailand, staying at Tanita House was a highlight. This place is a hidden gem. Aoi is a wonderful host - And she makes a fabulous breakfast, cooked to order! The location is SO peaceful but you can easily get to markets and old town. I felt so at home here - and very safe as a solo traveler. If I have the opportunity to return to Chiang Mai, I will be staying at Tanita House.
