Disgusting hotel, we had a rat in our room. Reported it to reception as soon as we realised, who did not care. Asked for a refund of the room because it was so disgusting we were denied. Avoid this hotel at all costs. We were charged an extortionate amount of money for the room which was so tiny you couldnt even walk around the bed. Receptionists were unhelpful when we reported the issue and judgign by the other reviews the rats are an ongoing issue at this hotel

Wasn’t too krazy about the hostel I picked out. The staircase was very crooked and creak a lot. Felt abit run-down.

Random people staying in the hostel, whom the staff are not aware about. I had to climb stairs twice with my heavy suitcase. After the first night I had to find a different accommodation. Felt unsafe. The place was stinking and people in the room stank up the place.

No lo recomiendo para nada. Los baños olían fatal y el olor salía a la habitación. Pagamos mas por la habitación con baño y ni el baño ni la habitación valía la pena . La ubicación esta bien pero la entrada olía a pis, ya que la gente mea en el paso que tiene para entrar.

Waited 30 ish minutes for a staff member to arrive to check in. Room was very small. Bed sheets were dirty and bathroom as well. The stairs are extremely steep and smelled like garbage. There were homeless people selling and using hard drugs in the entrance to the building throughout our stay. Also there were some signs that said no food or drinks in the rooms but it is not mentioned anywhere online or in the room.

Pedimos experiencia de alojamiento, la habitación y las instalaciones estaban sucias, muchos de los huéspedes fumaban dentro de la habitación, no respetaban horarios de silencio, los colchones estaban en mal estado, mala ventilacion. Nos tocó una habitación sin ventana por lo que el calor era insoportable por la noche.El personal gritaba mucho, entraban para limpiar gritando entre ellos dando 0 confianza.

Perfect location, other than that is not a good hotel. Very small, old, with dangerous stairs and not that clean (dusty, beds full of stains). Staff not very friendly, just doing the minimum necessary. Since the demand is higher than the offer, all hotels are very expensive, there's not much need for improvements if they're always full.

This “hostel” is in a good location but that’s the only good thing about it. I had a private room and when I entered it did NOT smell good at all, nor did the bathroom. Around 2 am someone attempted to enter my room- I am not sure if it was an accident or not. I won’t be staying here again nor would I ever recommend it for solo travelers.

Not a good hostel at all, feels more like a really bad hotel, no atmosphere or common area at all, staff at front desk are rude and unhelpful and overall very expensive for what you get, would’nt recommend

Do not visit the Dam Hostel! There were pubes everywhere, the place stank of smoke and they will try to scam you at reception to pay twice, I’ve seen multiple other reviews that say the same thing. Awful place, we were booked in for 3 nights and as soon as we saw the state of the room, checked out immediately. We did not feel safe, the room was a state and the staff were not only horrible to us, but they were damn right criminals, if you’ll pardon the pun. Save your money, there are far nice...

You get what you paid for. A bed for a night. No frills accommodation a short walk from Amsterdam train station which is perfect location. You get towels and toiletries. I was in a private room with my own bathroom. Could have been cleaner but it was very cheap.

Maybe an electric kettle would have been helpful but everything else was perfect I am super satisfied.

What this hotel has going for it is its location. The property seems run down however. Staff very polite and helpful

This property was a little less than what I had expected. For some, it may be fine, particularly the younger crowd looking for a good deal. There is no elevator so be prepared to carry luggage up the very small stairwell. We were travelling for 2 weeks so did have large suitcases. There is NO air conditioning. They provided us with 2 fans which helped us sleep through the night as it was hot in Amsterdam at this time. Location is great. You can walk to everything and anything you need.

Ottima posizione sulla via principale di Amsterdam e comunque al centro di ogni attrazione. Pulizia un po’ da rivedere ma nel complesso buona. Deposito bagagli gratuito molto utile. Personale gentile.

V central location. Quite grotty inside, no sound proofing so everything at night and early in morning

I thought it was great I have been coming for 20 years and thought I'd find something new and enjoyed it. Hard find as didn't expect it be in the high street and was walking around for ages but would love come again.

I stayed in a private room with en-suite. It was great - the location was close to everything and very close to every transport link. They came and kept the room tidy for us every day. Bathroom slightly smelt after you would have a shower. I’m not sure if it was the drains but you can live with it for a bit! Rooms are on the smaller side but fine to sleep in. We were out most of the time so it worked well for us! Staff were lovely. Definitely coming back next time me and my boyfriend visit!!

Location is Top! price is more than affordable, perfect place if you are just staying for a night or two and aren't going to spend much time in the hotel.

Good location, no bugs and no fridge. Prepare walking a lot of stairs. Friendly staff!

Location is great if you’re traveling in and out via Centraal Station. I had a single room, no frills but good for what I needed. Bed was actually really comfortable and I had an awesome view of the canal.
