Waterfront Lodge Motel

- No check in info after arriving and reception was closed. So could not stay in the facility.

- Room small . Dingy room at the back of the motel. No table and chairs as advertised. Not like booking. Com . Needed a good scrubbing everywhere

- False advertising- on the photos for the motel it has a photo of a pool which is misleading as the pool is not for guests, this photo needs to be removed, we booked assuming there was a pool only to be told its private and not for guests on arrival Cleanliness- the room was not cleaned to standard at all. The bathroom had pink mould in the shower, soap scum on the glass, this is not hard to clean at all and is disgusting. There was hair and dust all around the toilet, mirrors were streaky and hard to see in, cups dirty with a lipstick mark, floors not vacuumed well. Basic hygiene standard- the bed did not have a mattress protectors, this is absolutely disgusting and not an appropriate standard of hygiene. Expecting guests to sleep on simply a thin sheet with no protection, any sort of bodily fluids are seeping straight through, it actually makes me feel sick that we had to sleep in those beds. Customer service- the man who checked us in was rude and arrogant, when I tried to ask about the pool he kept talking over the top of me, not interested in anything I had to say. We often stay in small motels as we travel for sport. We know what to expect from an older style cheaper motel which is value you for money but this place should not be operating, it was disgusting and I want to be compensated for the misleading advertising and disgusting hygiene levels. I tried finding somewhere else to stay for the night but unfortunately, hobart was completely booked out. I have way more photos but it won't allow me to upload anymore, I would appreciate being contacted about this.

- First of all, there's no swimming pool, despite the pool being advertised on your website. It's dirty and lacks basic kitchen utensils.

- The pool was not available. We were told it was closed because it was not heated, we said that was ok. We were then told it was for private use only. We stayed 1 night of the 9 we prepaid for. Waterfront is refusing to refund the the 8 unused nights. Sunshine the manager is a rude, narsistic, condecend liar.

- Smelt like sewage, floor was uneven and falling to pieces, no spare toilet paper in the cupboards got given half a role, draft coming through the door, was cold and the heater didn’t work, a lot of other stuff i could put down but i will not be staying there again

- Walls are very thin, noisy from others staying. Man on desk was very, very rude, arguing with the customer in front of me and threatening to call police, frightened my daughter who was with me. He was telling the man only "bad" people complain, "good" people don't complain and just ignore things and enjoy life. He called me forward, but continued to talk over the top of me, saying things to the man customer afyer he'd walked away. Rather than serving me, he just talked over the top of me, trying to get the last say. Will never stay again and will tell everyone I know that the $20 or savings is not worth it.

- It was in a old so called Heritage Cottage. I was shocked when shown room . Disgusting ,dirty ,mould in shower grout, if blind put up for some fresh air as there was a lingering odour in the room there was no privacy from neighbours up the hill . No tea towel and not enough cutlery. Dust on the old skirting boards . No spare garbage bag for bin .No backup toilet paper .... Should have read reviews before I booked it.. No way would we have stayed there ... Couldn't get a refund so gritted teeth and stayed there .

- but no WiFi password mentioned and comfortable chair for sit and work... Bathroom tiles should be clean... And bathroom sink out of order. Rest all nice.

- It wasn’t a motel room. The room was in a cottage at the back of the motel. Staff just pointed at the path and said to follow it. Not what was advertised.

- Room was a very poor standard for the price. No working heater and it was freezing. Found another heater outside the room but the plug had been cut off. Bedclothes way too thin for Hobart. Sheets clean but quilt was smelly and stained (no quilt cover). The only blanket we found was covered in blood and other filth, cigarette burns, etc. We had to sleep in our jackets to stay warm. The bed was rock hard and I had to climb over my partner to get to the bathroom. The bathroom was also not clean. The wallpaper was stuck back on with sticky tape. There was no sound insulation and the front door is permanently open so it didn’t feel very safe. It was also extremely draughty and noisy due to blinds etc blowing in the wind. Would have liked to chat with management about all this but reception was conveniently closed until 10am and we left before then.

- Rubbish by back door of building, no Spa with no notification, noisy trucks in morning...garbage?

- More parking spaces would be good. The communal kitchen needed a good clean.

+ Waterfront lodge is excellently located to highway without noise, local amenities and attractions, 5 minutes from Hobart. Staff are friendly, supportive, and helpful. Its situated close to the Waterfront and its a beautiful walk around the water with a mountainous back drop. The retro colours of bright orange and turquoise are like being cast back to a Get Smart episode.

- We had a problem with out fridge it was working and water over floor.

- Shocking view from our window of an unkempt vacant site with an old car, partially hidden through high weeds etc. No reception desk, need to chase down the manager. Need a key to access the building, good idea if the key and lock worked easily. Then not an employee in sight. We stayed the first night of 4 nights booked. Had a family emergency and left early next morning, unable to secure a refund even though we informed the manager on the first afternoon in

- The property is not well maintained. The grass, weed on the way to the cottage is not value for money. The rooms are not well maintained.... this place needs a general maintainance, particularly the cottage. The sitting place outside or at the entrance is not usable...it is not clean. There is a swimming pool/ BBQ - but the place is dirty.

- Had to ring & wake you someone to access the keys - should provide an after hours key access.

- Only the lower level of the building, only a small common area

+ It was comfortable and clean. The attendant was lovely

- Good for what we paid so no complaint
