+ the location is a bit more removed from the main city but it is only a short walk down. It has facilities to store and cook food and the beds were comfortable.
- the place felt a little dark and empty at times and the décor and furniture seemed a bit old.
Leo our host was lovely! Super helpful and kind. Loved the location. Had a beautiful view. Unfortunately, it was not very clean. Our bedroom floor was super dusty and gritty. Our window didn’t latch on the bottom so I had to crawl up on furniture to latch window and our bedroom door didn’t latch so we had to use a chair to keep door closed at night. It has so much potential but needs some updating.

I enjoyed every bit of this ecclectic artist house. Julian has everything you might need and will pitch in with cooking. The hike up to the hostel is quite steep in sections, if that matters to you, but the view is worth it.

+ A fantastic and unique stay with Julian, staying at this beautiful property is an experience in itself and Julian’s hospitality is above and beyond. Bed was extremely comfortable and the room bright and airy. The house is spacious and has a gorgeous terrace. You can check out the Instagram for a sneak peek of what to expect from this stay.

+ Julian is an amazing host. He offers a place full of expressions with personal character. We stayed really comfortably and feel like home. The experience was amazing being capable to connect with the culture. We did some workshops and gave us local food to try.

We had a great stay at Casa Atahualpa. The hostal feels like an authentic experience of Valparaiso with a wonderful charm, kind and open hosts. The location is excellent and the rooms are large. We were greeted with a tasting of local cuisine and had great conversations and recommendations from Julian and Leo who made us feel at home. Highly recommend!!

We had such an incredible time here, cooking and eating with the hosts (lovely and open people) and lounging on the terrace (incredible view). The one thing I would flag is this feels more like a homestay than a hostel, which was perfect for us but might not be right for everyone.

Llegamos de casualidad y nos dimos cuenta de que caímos en el lugar exacto al que queríamos caer. Casa Atahualpa es un Hostel perfecto para conocer el alma de Valparaíso. Desde la terraza se puede ver todo el cerro y el mar, ideal para desayunar admirando toda su belleza. La ubicación es perfecta y tiene mucho encanto, fuera de la zona más gentrificada, se puede disfrutar de la movida locataria (cerca de bares con música en vivo y música en las calles) y sin embargo está cerca de las zon...
We arrived by chance and realized that we landed in the exact place where we wanted to land. Casa Atahualpa is a perfect Hostel to get to know the soul of Valparaíso. From the terrace you can see the whole hill and the sea, ideal for breakfast admiring all its beauty. The location is perfect and has a lot of charm, outside the most gentrified area, you can enjoy the busy rental (close to bars with live music and music in the streets) and yet it is close to tourist areas and museums

Sehr schönes Hostel mit netten, gastfreundlichen Besitzern die uns direkt zum Grillen und Rotwein einluden, als wir ankamen. Die Terrasse ist wunderschön mit einer herrlichen Aussicht über die Stadt und das Meer. Das Zentrum ist fußläufig und in 10 Minuten erreichbar. Wir können die Unterkunft nur jedem empfehlen und würden immer wieder hier her kommen ☺️ Danke Julian & Leo!
Very nice hostel with nice, hospitable owners who invited us directly to the barbecue and red wine when we arrived. The terrace is beautiful with a wonderful view of the city and the sea. The center is within walking distance and within 10 minutes. We can only recommend the accommodation to anyone and would come here again and again ☺️ Danke Julian & Leo!
