Fremantle Old Fire Station Hostel

this is very much a party hostel and the private room was appalling. the common area outside turns into a night club every night and if you end up getting a private room next door you can goodbye to any kind of sleep or peace and quiet. the guests are judgy and rude and the place is covered in people’s personal belonging and general mess. not a nice place to be whatsoever.

Dirtiest hostel I’ve been so hard. Rooms are packed and messy, couldn’t put my stuff anywhere. Top beds have no ladder, rooms smell bad and the beds smell like dust. Toilets are horrible

Very dirty hostel. Mold in the showers. toilet rooms always reeked of pee. dusty dirty surfaces. Doesn’t look like it ever gets cleaned. Staff was occasionally rude and everyone (guests and staff). The music was SO loud, full base, rattling my bed until 11:00pm+ and one night turned back on at 2am!! No regard for anyone sleeping. There wasn’t proper ladders on the beds so the top bunks struggled. Just gross overall… but other people didn’t seem to mind. Not worth $60/night

This is a full party hostel, and it’s completely unfair: people who want to party have all the rights, while anyone who needs rest has none. I paid a lot only to spend ten nights without sleeping. My room was next to the common area where a loud party happened every night. The guests were disrespectful, the place chaotic, and I didn’t even feel safe. Not recommended for anyone expecting rest or basic comfort.

As a solo female this hostel felt unsafe and unwelcoming. Got put in 'the loudest room in the hostel' as it was in the courtyard where everyone partied with loud DJ techno music until late in the night with no warning of this when I booked. A random man came into my hostel room at a point in the middle of the night and kept tapping on my shoulder as I was trying to sleep. The place was also just generally dirty. I ended up checking out two days early.

Not clean, lots of long term residents so feels very dirty

Actually i didn't have the time to enjoy my stay in this hostel as when i arrived (in the evening) i was told by the receptionist that my booking was cancelled. (booking made in September). No one informed me about this, and the person at the receptio was really rude....

Bad attendance. I arrived at the hostel with my booking confirmed and they say I didn’t have any booking so I had to live to another hostel. The town was full booked so it was so difficult to find somewhere to sleep. It was a very bad moment.

It’s definitely not a 10/10. It’s cold and you get a 10 cent’s planked

Beim Check in stellte sich heraus das mein 12er Zimmer zum 14er Zimmer wurde. Die Küche habe ich mich nicht getraut zu benutzen, da das Geschirr kaum bis gar nicht sauber war und überall noch Essensreste waren und die alten Schwämme halfen auch nicht weiter. Es roch überall nach Schweiß und nach Grass, da jeden Tag Party gemacht wurde. Die Toiletten und duschen waren ok. 2 von 7 Nächten habe ich ausgehalten und dann habe ich mich entschieden doch lieber in meinem Zelt zu schlafen.

The staff are very friendly and will help you with any questions/advice you might need when first moving here. Good atmosphere and chill vibes!

Very party / long term hostel, feels quite dirty and intimidating. I’m sure if you stayed longer / moving to Perth then it would be nicer and a good place to get set up but wouldn’t choose to stay for a short period again

A different kind of hostel compared to the others — little by little you learn to feel at home. But be careful: if you’re looking for a quiet place without too many stimuli, this isn’t the right spot for you. My experience was positive mainly thanks to Daniel, the guy at the reception, who became a key figure for me at the hostel. He’s extremely good at understanding any discomfort and supporting you 100%. Without him, I don’t think I would have given this rating.

Ich glaube man liebt dieses Hostel oder man hasst es. es überzeugt definitiv nicht bei der Einrichtung oder der Gemütlichkeit, aber dafür bei der Atmosphäre! Alle sind super offen und lieb, man kann oben entspannt Filme schauen am Abend oder unten feiern. :)

Bin alleine gereist und konnte viele Freunde kennen lernen. Super zum Feiern und soziale Kontalte zu knüpfen. Es könnte etwas sauberer sein aber sonst super Flair

Really good place for meeting people, party atmosphere. If you are seeking having fun by night, drinking parting and more, this is the place.

The best hostel I have stayed in Australia by far! The staff are all amazing and willing to help with anything. Proper family environment where everyone can feel safe, comfortable and welcome
