- Hostel puts information up that they have been informed about water contamination so it’s better to eat at their restaurant (double prices than at the local restaurants around) I’ve asked around because i couldn’t find any information about it online, and this is a known practice they do. I mean, yes, you shouldn’t drink tap water and be generally careful of what and where you eat but they make it sound like it’s something beyond the usual safety measurements. The rumor has even spread so far that I’ve heard about the „water contamination” from random tourists I took a trip with.. Even the police was involved because local restaurants have asked to verify this information. Very smart and sneaky. You don’t play fair - you get a 1 star review.
+ De sfeer bij het hostel is goed. De aankleding is leuk en brengt direct vakantiesfeer.
- Het eten heeft een voedselvergiftiging veroorzaakt. Helaas erkende het hostel niet dat dit door het eten kwam, maar leggen zij vooral de verklaring bij de veranderde weercondities. Er zijn 25+ mensen die de afgelopen 3/4 dagen gebraakt hebben en diarree hebben gehad. Mijn vriend had ook koorts. Van andere hostelgasten begrepen we dat dit een week geleden ook al speelde. Bijna Iedereen heeft de banh mi met ei gegeten. Aangezien het hostel hier weinig verantwoordelijkheid voor neemt, en er echt veel mensen ziek geworden zijn, schrijf ik het toch graag even hier.

- הצוות היה לא נחמד ולא עזר בכלום, מרגיש שהמקום מתרכז יותר במסעדה מאשר בהוסטל. לאורך היומיים שם לא היה לא קליטה ובקושי ווי פיי בחדרים. רצו לחייב אותנו על יוגה שביטלנו את ההרשמה אליה. המיטות לא נוחות ושמו אותנו בחדר צדדי שליד הרחוב הפתוח ואפשר לנעול רק מבפנים, ככה שכשאנחנו לא שם בחדר פתוח וכל אחד יכול פשוט להיכנס
+ It has potential, probably when they finish renovating, but for us it was only a construction building, unfortunately this place didn’t meet our expectations.. We thought the reason there was almost no rooms left was because it would be busy and super social, but there was almost no people when we arrived which I believe was because of renovation. I don’t think they should welcome guest during this time.
- We were woken up around 7am by loud awful construction work, it was so intense that the noise blended into nightmares about being in a war. I came down around 8:30 asking for air plugs and they didn’t have it but they luckily stopped until 10am. I wouldn’t recommend booking tours with them either, I asked where to find the local bus someone else told us about, but seemed like they were required to advertise the same private bus they arrange. The cruise was also overpriced compared to what we found online. We couldn’t use the pool and there was no WiFi in the room (even the one meant for 3rd floor didn’t work), so we ended up paying for more mobile data. It was very cold while we were there, but the rooms were not built for it (hopefully why they’re renovating) the bathroom had a whole in it which also made us avoid turning the lights on at night, We had the aircon on 30 degrees which only had cold air, I caught a cold after sleeping in the freezing cold room, I’m sorry this didn’t meet our expectations, Secret garden is hopefully a great place after renovation!
Don't go there !!! I am shocked by the behavior of the staff, they were very unpleasant. They don't even say hello, thank you, or goodbye. The food was not good, some rooms are very damp and smell musty. The air conditioner doesn’t work well. The prices for rides, scooters and laundry are much higher than in other hostels. I also gave them my laundry, they don't even note your name corresponding to the laundry, I got it back after 24 hours and my t-shirt was gone, I was already in another host...
+ The ladies working in the hotel where we actually stayed (not secret garden) were nice. The room was big.
- We never stayed at secret garden even if we booked a stay there for 5 days. We were sent to the hotel in front of secret garden, at the 5th floor where the WIFI was not even working. Breakfast does not include coffee and it's onlu until 8:30. Moreover almost everything is overpriced. Would not come back.
- Vêtements abîmés et perdus à la lessive. Aucune compensation proposé on a même eu la mauvaise foi dessayer de me dire "votre short était comme ça avant ". Il s'agit d'un short en jean bleu qui m'est revenu rose fluo...
- They host an “open mic night,” but the host sang basically all night long. I worked up the courage to sing a song, and when I raised my hand to sing another one later (since nobody was volunteering), the host said “no, no! Not you. You’re done. Anybody else?” And THEN proceeded to invite two men up to the mic who had sang earlier - apparently, people he deemed good enough to sing a second song. The whole point of an open mic night is to provide a welcoming, safe atmosphere to share your art. It should not only be reserved for the best performers, but for all. I was absolutely appalled by how I was treated and humiliated in front of everyone, and actually went and stayed in another hotel that night.
+ It was central. But unfortunately that’s it.
- It was raining a lot which wasn’t their fault but the place isn’t waterproof. We had to wait for 7 hours to get into the room (as our bus arrived in the morning) and the whole outside area and cafe is not waterproof which means the whole place is under water all the time. the food was overpriced and less than mediocre and they only sell sugary drinks (even the black tee was like syrup). The whole complex is not well maintained. The pool table is in very bad condition. We had a private room and it was so humid in there that our oreos went soft and all our clothes were wet. They have an airfilter in there but they didn’t empty the container so it didn’t work. The room has no windows and is very very basic and not very clean. We felt so uncomfortable here and wouldn’t recommend it…

Amazing hostel, the dorms are really good with a lot of shelves, the common area is quite big and really well decorated, the staff is super nice and there are different events going on every evening that you can join ! Probably the best hostel I've done so far !
Das Hostel bietet genau die richtige Mischung zwischen Social und entspannt. Es ist nicht übertrieben Party und laut etc. Abends gibt es Quiz Nights/kleinere Events, die toll waren! Auch die Zimmer waren geräumig, Betten bequem. Gemütliches, Social hostel.

Really nice hostel. Really good vibes. Clean and had lots of activities. Staff was super friendly. Bathrooms and rooms were clean.

+ Fantastic stay. Incredible and engaging hostel. Includes you in many fun activities if you like, but also gives you space to relax and chill by the pool.

+ Schönes Hostel auch mit Privatzimmern. Das Personal ist eine 10/10 (u.a. Henry hat mir mit einer Sache sehr geholfen). Guter Vibe generell.
- Mehrere Kleinigkeiten sind ausbaubar, u.a. Verglasung der Fenster. Leider habe ich jeden einzelnen Roller sehr laut gehört auf der Straße.
+ 房价没有电梯，然后双人间确实有点小，建议选大间。老板人很好，每天晚上也有活动，是快乐的地方
Amazing hostel, nice rooms, nice staff and an amazing pool. But never do your laundry here! Many of our clothes shrunk, some got lost and most are still dirty. Other from that, it was an amazing stay
+ Staff were great. So friendly and helpful. Bar is pleasant and a good hangout.
- Bathrooms and room not that clean, lost some makeup that was in my bag, pool looked a bit old, rooms don’t lock.
Highly recommend staying here when visiting Cat ba. The rooms are so clean and maintained, there’s entertainment on pretty much every night from pub quiz to workshop classes and movie nights. It’s about a 10 minute walk down to what use to be the ‘front’ before the new world thing got built so good location to get some steps in. The shared showers and toilets are nice and clean. The whole area downstairs is so good for socialising with the swimming pool, pool table and musical instrument...

Had an amazing time here, lots of fun activities in the evening. Super central, couldn’t recommend more!
+ L'emplacement est parfait, le dortoir de 4 lits est très bien. La salle de bain est dans la chambre, très pratique. L'ambiance de manière générale est très bonne, des soirées sont organisées tous les soirs.
+ Great Hostel, stayed in private room , clean rooms good aircon, very helpful ladies on reception, good breakfast, booked the LAN Ha bay day boat trip with them, had a great time. Good bar and restaurant, something happening most evenings, good vibe.
- Second night I moved to a different room in the block next door was quieter, than room near pool, still ok though.

+ L’hostel est composé de trois bâtiments distinctifs. Nous avions une chambre dite sans fenêtre mais finalement il y avait une petite fenêtre qui donnait sur le couloir et une porte sur l’arrière cour. Comme elle ne donnait pas sur la rue , elle était calme. Le déshumidificateur était vraiment un plus. La climatisation fonctionnait bien sans bruit. Le petit réfrigérateur permettait de mettre les bouteilles d’eau au frais. Le petit déjeuner se déroule dans la partie commune qui est dans un autre bâtiment accessible par la rue. Trois choix s’offrent à nous et le thé et le café sont à volonté. La piscine est dans la partie commune , elle est petite , profonde et en plastique. Nous avons pris la sortie bateau avec l’hostel et nous avons été satisfait. Les serviettes sont changées tous les jours, deux bouteilles sont fournies également tous les jours. Le personnel est sympathique. Il y a des activités tous les jours dans la partie commune. L’hostel est bien situé dans la ville. On peut louer un scooter électrique 50 cc pour circuler dans l’île, pas besoin de permis international. Le loueur est situé pas loin de L’hostel.
- Nous avons regretté que lors du choix de la chambre, il ne soit pas indiqué sans fenêtre , mais finalement on a aimé être à l’arrière du bâtiment au calme que côté rue avec un balcon. La chambre serait assez grande pour mettre deux chaises et une petite table qui serait un plus. Le lit est un matelas posé sur une planche, il est un peu dur.
