- Subject: Complaint: Hotel Gave Away My Prepaid Room Despite Clear Written and Verbal Instructions Dear Booking.com Support Team, I am writing to file a formal complaint regarding a serious breach of reservation security by one of your listed properties. My experience involved not only an error, but a complete disregard for written instructions, verbal confirmation, and basic hospitality standards. Reservation Details: Hotel: Sira Boutique, Chaing Mai Dates Booked: 3 nights Actual Planned Arrival: Morning of Day 2 Reason for 3-Night Booking: I intentionally paid for the first night to secure early check-in on the second morning. Summary of the Issue: Despite paying for the first night specifically to secure early check-in the next morning, the hotel gave my room away without notifying me, ignoring all forms of communication I provided. This is what I did prior to arrival: 1. Entered a detailed message in English on the Booking.com “special requests” field stating: I would not be physically present on the first night. I would arrive early morning on Day 2. The hotel must not cancel my reservation under any circumstances. 2. Had a native Thai speaker call the hotel 14 hours before my arrival, explaining the same details to a staff member who verbally confirmed understanding and assured us there would be no problem. Despite this, when I arrived at 8:00 a.m. on Day 2, the hotel informed me: My room had been assigned to someone else. They “did not see” any of my written messages. They “did not know” who my friend spoke to. Impact: This was not a small inconvenience. It was a fundamental breach of reservation integrity. I paid for a room I was entitled to occupy. I communicated clearly. I double-confirmed in Thai, with a phone call. The hotel ignored all of it. This is unacceptable for any property listed on Booking.com — especially one that claims to accommodate international guests. What I Am Requesting 1. A full one night refund.
+ Dass das Hotel direkt am Innenstadtring lag. Dadurch konnte man alles gut zu Fuß durchstreifen.
- Das Personal war zwar auf mehrfache Nachfrage bemüht, aber wir hatten nicht so ein Gefühl, als seien die Kunden wichtig. So mussten wir 3 X darauf hinweisen, dass es keine News Kanal im Fernseher gab, obwohl in der Lobby immerzu BBC-News liefen. Ohne Erfolg. Die Ausstattung im Deluxe-Zimmer enttäuschte anhand der auf ein Holz-Interior geweckten Erwartungen - Kunststoff bzw. Melamin-Beschichtung herrschten vor. Dann war das Zimmer nach vorn raus zur 2-spurigen Ringstraße trotz einem 2. Fenster nicht gerade leise. Nur für 3-Bettzimmer gab's die ruhige Rückseite. Der Preis bei Buchung überstieg den zu dem Zeitpunkt des Aufenthalts um das Doppelte ohne Frühstück , weshalb wir summa summarum nicht so glücklich waren und das Hotel 2 Tage früher verließen.

- The mattress was very uncomfortable, really hard like a rock. Breakfast very simple. Also the walls seem to be very thin, so I could hear what other peoples did at night, it was really noisy, I barely could sleep and I booked 5 nights!!
+ Die Ausstattung im Zimmer war gut. Das Zimmer hat keine Fenster mit direktem Ausblick nach draussen. Da alle Wände aus dunklem Holz waren, war das Zimmer sehr düster und muffig.
+ Proche centre ville , pratique et facile d’accès . Personnel très gentil .
- La climatisation à fond donnant pile sur certains lits juste en face , même en demandant il n’était pas possible de la baisser . Les lits du milieu n’avait ni lumière, ni étagère , ni prise , ni rien …. Et pas de rideau sur tous les côtés pour être dans sa « bulle » , manque d’intimité ! Petit déjeuner pas dingue . Pas d’espace dédié à la partie auberge pour se faire à manger ou se poser simplement .

+ I liked the bathrooms mostly. The aroma and aesthetically pleasing. New facilities were being used.
- The bed were squished, the lockers were small ones, not for luggage as shown in pictures. There was very less room to get into the bed if it was the top bed. There was a gap and if by mistake you step, you will fall on the bottom side. No space to place my own luggage other than the tiny locker.

- I recently stayed at Sira Boutique and checked out just three days ago. Today, while walking past the hotel, I was accidentally sprayed all over my legs by a hose that had been dropped — leaving me completely soaked. While I understand accidents happen, what truly disappointed me was the way I was treated afterward. When I went inside to ask for a quick way to dry my trousers (as I was on my way to a pick-up for the lantern festival), the staff and manager were dismissive and unhelpful. I felt like I had to beg for a small favor, and their response came across as mocking and belittling rather than understanding. What struck me most was the contrast between how I was treated as a recent guest and how I was treated today as someone simply walking by. It felt as though, the moment I was no longer staying there, I was seen as unworthy of even basic courtesy or assistance. Having just stayed there and having genuinely enjoyed my visit, this experience left me feeling disheartened. A little empathy and kindness would have made all the difference.
+ Habe den Ort gewäht, weil in unmittelbarer Nähe in einem Tempel solide Massage angeboten wurde, die mir in Jahren zuvor immer wieder bei meinen Problemen mit den Füßen und Beinen geholfen hat.

+ Everything was honestly super nice ! The beds were really comfortable, the facilites were cleaned often, the bathrooms were well-equipped, there was air-conditioning, the staff was super accomodating and spoke really good english, the location is really nice... go for it !

+ Walking distance to a big market. Clean and confortable beds. Clean shower. Front desk staff were very helpful and profesional. Gave us a lot of tips what to do while we were in town. Lots going on around the hotel.

+ L’hotel si trova sul lato nord del quadrato che compone la città, vicina all’aeroporto e ai templi più importanti della città. Camera bella, molto ampia, pulita e comoda. Staff molto gentile e pronto ad accogliere le richieste degli ospiti. L’ultimo giorno abbiamo usufruito del deposito bagagli e ci hanno dato anche l’opportunità di fare la doccia dopo la nostra escursione nell’apposito bagno. Soggiorno perfetto! L’unico consiglio per la colazione comunque buona e di renderla più abbondante.

- El baño cada vez que alguien se bañaba quedaba empapado y nadie lo limpiaba luego ya que la limpieza era solo de mañana. El desayuno bien pero muuuy justo. No era ostentoso. Me dejaron un dia una toalla de mas que deje en otra cama y cuando estaba haciendo check out me pidieron que hasta muestre donde la habia dejado (no entendi si creian que me la estaba llevando o algo asi y eso no me gusto)
