The Culvert Resort

Great place and amazing concept. Good variety of breakfast food. 2 nice pools to cool off when it is hot (partly shaded depending on the time of the day). Like most reviews here, some of the staff can be better trained. Some staff were pretty blur and are not sure of how some of the things in The Culvert work. (None of them were rude or anything though) The rigidity of only allowing check in sharp at 2.30pm even though I arrived at 1.45pm and there weren't many guests as well as the rooms were already ready docks a few points off. Except for this, it was a great stay! The laundry service adds back the docked points. If you want to climb Gunung Santubong, this might be the best accomodation. The shortcut exit from Gunung Santubong exits at right in front of The Culvert. Edit 13 Nov 2025: stayed in room 50 and I suspect I might have been bitten by some bed bugs. Told the staff at the counter (name starts with N wearing a hijab) and I did not receive any response or explanation. She continued to type distractingly on her computer and offered no apology or solution. I hope the owners take note of this and improve the facilities/cleanliness of the place. Reducing the rating because of this reason. The review on facilities remain as above. But perhaps I won't return unless service is improved. A shame a place as nice as this can be pulled down by the lack of something basic for an accommodation (clean bed and decent staff service)
