This honestly was the WORST experience of my life. Inconsiderate roommates and absolutely no privacy. It was so bad that I got a hotel room the last day of my stay. I started crying in bed after my roommates came in and turned all the lights on and were incredibly drunk and disrespectful. The property was not clean and not close to the downtown area of Kyoto.
Overpriced. Ancient and needs a rework. Beds are creaking and mattress at a slant. Furry bathmats are unhygienic. And kitchen needs and overhaul.
Very smelly and bad air. Not clean at all and facilities were bad. I got sick after one day of staying there due to bad oxygen (probably didn’t change the filters or there was mold). Very unpleasant stay.
No curtains by the bed, no plank by the bed, old furniture, location is not top, too few sinks, lift is often by any means to the rooms so you sometimes 5 min staat te wachten
Paying almost 100 euros per night for a private room just to be asked to rent (pay more) for a towel is a bit of a joke. For the weekday thats almost double the price of a hotel btw. Sadly it wasn't very social either, which is the reason I chose to stay there. You might need an eye mask, window courtain doesn't block out all the light. Other than that no issues. (bed does make some cracking noises, didn't bother me too much tho)
A hostel with a good common space, a well-equipped kitchen but the austerity of the dorms is dreadful. the room is tiny.
You get what you pay for. Staff is fantastic, as is the location. But rooms are old and basic, no central heating in common areas like the corridors to the bathroom so feels cold during the winter months. On the whole - good value for money. Note that they are very serious about the 10 am reception open time. Even if you get there 10 mins before 10 am to leave your bags, they will not open the door to let you enter the property, despite someone being there at the desk.
Not very social but it’s a great hostel for a chill time
but very good but very expensive for the services it offers. the better its location. the worse the cleanliness of the living rooms and bathrooms
Expensive for what is is. Does the job for a few days and in a great location

really good hostel
This is the best hostel I stayed at in Japan. Staff members are constantly cleaning and they keep the place spotless. The receptionist in the front desk speak good English so you are able to communicate with them well. It’s located in a touristy area close to the Kyoto tower that had a food hall underneath it with a variety of delicious food. The lounging area is large and comfortable with comfy couches and tables. They provide free coffee and tea which is so helpful.
I had a really great stay here. Staff work hard to keep everything spotless and provide a full kitchen for meals, ample shower/bathroom space, laundry etc. Thankyou!
Alles bestens, gerne wieder
Everything is fine, please come again.
Incredible Hostel! The staff is extremely nice and helpful!! Everything is clean and the location is near the train stations and not too far away from big attractions.
A great hostel, great location, toilets and showers were always so clean, kitchen fully equipped to make food and lovely big social area. Staff are also really friendly and helpful too. I personally found it was really social, I met some really special people here! Would definitely go back!
Nice hostel with friendly staff and a decent location. Atmosphere was a bit flat when I was there.
Great facilities, good position and very gentle staff
I would stay here again. I stayed in a four beds room. Best part: Room window can be opened, japanese type bath, easy to get to 206 bus stop and JR station. There are two buildings and two common areas, I like the quieter one.
The cost was decent but this is located in Kyoto.

Not very social but it’s a great hostel for a chill time
Beautiful place, staff are extremely helpful and kind and offer all the support possible. Security is great and they give you a locker for your room. Location is great and walkable or can get a tube. Atmosphere is lovely and can be super social if you wanted. The only let down I would have to say is that I saw a staff member not wash the duvet cover but rather spray it and you have to make your own bed when you get there which can be annoying when you’ve just arrived from a long trip.
Biggest flaw with this hostel is some dorm beds don’t have currents at all so beware if a light sensitive sleeper.
Great hostel, super clean!
Brilliant hostel very close to the train station so makes it very easy to see everything Kyoto has to offer. Plenty of bars and restaurants within walking distance. Lockers under the bed are huge so will fit pretty much all sizes of luggage, regularly cleaned and with a massive common room.
It's a large commercial Hostel with multiple floors, so it often felt quite anonymous and it was hard to meet new people. The room was quite small and had only a tiny window, so the air got bad quickly. The beds lacked any sort of bedside table to put your phone, glasses etc. Everything else was good, they offer a large common area.
Nice hostel, no curtains on beds, was ok to stay in
One of the best hostels I've been to in Japan with regards to its atmosphere and sociability! the large common areas allow you to meet people more easily.
Close to the centre of town, and a very social hostel! Had a great time here, would come back again.
