Retroverse Eccentric Stay

Not a bad hostel overall, but there were a few things that made us not want to return. The area the hostel is located in isn’t the nicest, however it’s only a 10 minute walk from the tourist area. We also had our food stolen out of the communal fridge after labelling it which wasn’t great

This hostel is very comfortable. beds and bathroom are awesome! I had a very good rest there. However, the location is creepy and there is no vibes. As a solo travel, I got scared coming back myself at night. I would recommend stay closer to the Acropolis site in order to really feel Athens vibes, experience the nice cafes, enjoy the people.

A lightly videogame-themed gem of a hostel, very clean and new. Built very recently so everything shines and is upscale. Cute branding and gamer-culture touches. The kitchen is beautiful, Staff are sweet and helpful. Location is a bit sketchy feeling but was not super concerning. Nearby towards the museum theres nice coffee shops. If location was better this would be the best hostel I’ve ever stayed in. Friends car got broken into 5 blocks away and backpack stolen. Just be smart, it’s Ath...

Great hostel that’s a bit different with the retro gaming vibe. Nice staff and in a good location 15 min walk from the centre.

I loved the hostel but didnt feel safe in the area. I was solo traveling and returned a bit late from a walking tour and did not feel at all safe. I didnt know this when i reserved it, I would advise for you to take a cab or travel in group.

El hostel por dentro está increíble. Uno de los mejores en los 50 países que he visitado. Sin embargo la habitación estaba infestada de mosquitos. Maté mínimo 3 y tengo más de 20 picaduras en el cuerpo. No me parece algo puntual porque había muchos. Deberían poner antimosquitos eléctricos si este problema existe. Las camas perfectas, la limpieza perfecta la ducha increíble.

Overall, would recommend this hostel. Was clean, the location was good and a 20ish minute walk to city center. Felt pretty safe there. Stayed in an 8 person mixed dorm and everyone was pretty quiet, no issues there. Only thing is that it was not a super social environment, and there was a “roof deck” but there was nothing up there and it is quite small. Though it looks like maybe they are getting ready to build something.

Very clean and nice place. The rooftop was under construction but otherwise was everything very good.

This was one of the best hostels I’ve stayed in so far! The room was very clean and had a curtain for privacy, the location is amazing, very close to everything I wanted to see and the staff were brilliant. They were all very friendly and helpful! Would recommend 100%!

Très bonne auberge, calme et très bien équipée. Les lits sont grands et confortables. Le personnel est très agréable. Le lieu est bien entretenu.

This is one of the best hostels I’ve ever stayed in! Theres over 20,000 different well known classic, as well as random and unheard of arcade games you can play throughout the lobby and top floor (includes a TV and foosball!) was one of my favorite parts along with the amazing and friendly staff, great social atmosphere, laundry and kitchen amenities, cleanliness of the bathrooms, modernness of the rooms with good lockers (key included!) as well as curtains and a drawer, reccomend!

This is a very new and modern hostel with a fantastic kitchen and communal space that includes access to hundreds of retro video games with old school joystick and buttons. There is also a fun room on the roof with more games and a dartboard. Security is very good with access given from the receptionist. Internet is strong which is important. I was fortunate and lucky that I had a dorm to myself and I appreciated the privacy that gave me, beds were very comfortable also so good rest is guarantee...

This almost felt like a 4 star hotel to me… It was super clean, it has to be quite new. Some hooks for the towels and a new towel every 3 days would have been perfect but apart from it everything was perfekt! Metro was 5 minutes away but be prepared for some strange people around at night time as in every big city… They don‘t do anything to you though.

Amazing location, very modern infrastructure in the hostel, comfy beds! Glad that lockers were included in the price. Not much to complain about :) AC could be stronger, since beds farther away could get warmer especially on the upper floors. But I didn't notice it as it got colder over night.

It's a great hostel you will have everything that you need. The beds are comfortable. The only downside is the location. The neighbourhood of the Omonia metro station feels a somewhat unsafe after dark. But this is has no negative effects on the quality of the hostel.

Very good hostel. Everything very modern and clean. Beds are really good. The retro gaming vibe is unique and cool. Would definitely stay again.

One of the best, quietest and cleanest hostels I’ve ever stayed in! My husband and I are retired and don’t like “party” hostels very much, but when I learned online that this one was quiet, we thought we would give it a try. We are so glad that we did! It is in an area that is very central in Athens. The area is fine by day, but if you like to sleep at a normal hour and wake up at a normal hour, the outside neighborhood doesn’t matter much. The security at the hostel is very good!

Retroverse Hostel is incredibly unique and filled with a lot of heart from the staff. The video game theme is really unique, and add a real flare to the place. I had the oppurtunity to teach a Introduction to Game Development workshop in which the staff was very accomdating and supportive. I always felt that each staff member cares about your every need, and really felt supported overall. I cannot reccomend Retroverse Hostel enough and reccomend it to any new travelers.
