Ticuchi Hostal Oaxaca

there were cucarachas in the showers, lots of loud disrespectful guests, the rooms wete not the cleanest. The location was great though.

One of the worst private rooms I have stayed in. The room is not soundproof at all, you can hear everything in the next room and on the outside. It’s located right on the kitchen / sitting area so be prepared for a lot of noise. Very loud music everyday until 11pm. But the worst thing was the shower, there was barely any pressure and most of the time the water was very cold. I heard similar complaints from guests staying in the dorms. Definitely not worth the money for the private room.

Had a mental breakdown after arriving to Ticuchi and not being able to sleep in the dorm because of how cold it was and the cigarette smoke was everywhere. I got the idea that this is a party hostel. I did not feel comfortable, so I just grabbed my things and left to another hostel. I do not recommend it

Todo está en mantenimiento es terrible

mucho que desear con las instalaciones todo esta en mantenimiento, los baños sucios y también en cocina todo sucio

La habitación estaba sucia y con cucarachitas, llamamos a recepción para que fumigaran y limpiaran. La habitación privada estaba muy cerca del bar y siempre hay ruido. El personal es amable pero varios de ellos no hablan ni entienden español, solo inglés y estamos en Oaxaca, MÉXICO

I did not enjoy my stay. The first 2 nights they put me in the room next to the bar even though I had not booked that. It is noisy well after 11pm and I was solen up at 4am one night bc someone was watching television. I told the night guard and asked to turn it off but he just shrughed and did not help. The. I as put in room 1, which seemed to have a lot of the volunteers. One night 3am one of the volunteers got a call and proceeded to talk on the phone loudly twice. Very inconsiderate people.

es la ultima vez que me quedo en ticuchi, tienen un trato muy diferente para los mexicanos y a los extranjeros trato preferencial siendo que todos somos iguales en este mundo

el trato con los voluntarios y los empleados de limpieza a veces es incomodo porque se están peleando constantemente por cosas tontas como el idioma o el color de piel

The private rooms are literally inside the pool, bar and kitchen area. It’s not worth the money. You can hear everyone talking, music playing from the bar, people walking on the gravel at all hours. I got the worst private room which was also next to the cleaning staff’s closet area so I could hear them grabbing their equipment very early in the morning, I also had a dirty shower full of hair and no hot water when I arrived. I checked out after 1 night when I was supposed to stay for 4.

Het is een prima hostel, maar echt niet schoon. De douches en toiletten zijn echt vies, de keuken ook en er ligt veel vuil. Alles is een beetje smoezelig. tours zijn wel makkelijk te boeken en locatie is wel heel erg fijn, midden in het centrum, maar ik zou hier niet nog een x verblijven.

El mejor hostel de Oaxaca!! El personal es súper amable, Maribel una genia y cocina espectacular en las noches mexicanas (no te pierdas sus memelas!) , tienen muchas actividades y piscina para el calor! Volveré los ameeee

Great location and very reasonably priced dorms and privates. Pool and the happy hour were good, super comfy beds. Private room was a bit unclean and hostel was quite quiet

Super fun and easy place to stay, especially if you want to be close to everything. You can walk to tons of sights and hop on the bus pretty easily. The bar does a great happy hour every night and it’s a good way to meet people and hang out especially during the activities they put on. The staff are super chill, always happy to help. The hostel is clean and a big bonus is the amount of bathrooms and showers.

Super bien placé, la piscine est sympa et les dortoirs très bien. Il n’y a pas à vraiment d’eau chaude et pas beaucoup d’endroits où se poser.

El hostal es amplio y súper agradable para pasar el rato, la alberca es un mega plus, con el rico calor de Oaxaca. Está excelente ubicado y tienen bebidas súper ricas y baratas en el bar, aprovechen el happy hour!

Ticuchi Hostal está increíble. Todo está limpio, el espacio es muy agradable y se disfruta mucho estar ahí. Hay buen ambiente, la gente se presta y se arma fácil el plan. La alberca es lo mejor, literal te puedes quedar horas ahí relajándote o conviviendo. Si vienes a Oaxaca, sí vale la pena quedarte aquí.

Such a great hostel!! Rooms are spacious and good temp even in the 30°C day heat and beds are comfy. Facilities are great and there are so many bathrooms so you’re never waiting for a shower. The pool was really great to cool off and right next to the bar and kitchen so you can still be social. Staff and volunteers are so friendly and lovely and the activities they put on are great too. Emplacement parfait dans le centre de Oaxaca, le jardin est paisible et magnifique et la piscine idéale pour passer l’après-midi. Des activités et événements tous les jours, que des good vibes ✨merciii Ticuchi

Staff was really nice, but electricity went out several times when I was there and the showers were not very functional. I also tried a different hostel with the same price range in Oaxaca that had better facilities. A lot of social events in the evening, but quiet after 23.

En el hostal hay una comunidad de personas no huéspedes que tienen una imagen y dinámicas sociales muy incomodas. Además de fumar marihuana en áreas comunes , hay un ambiente de acoso visual hacia las mujeres que hace del hostal un espacio para no sentirse seguro El hostal se ve viejo. La ropa de cama estaba sucia y los baños estaban asquerosos (papeles con heces en el piso. Los voluntarios parece que están ahí de mala gana porque a duras penas contestan preguntas básicas. Es una pen...

Très bien situé, facile de tout faire à pied depuis l’hostel. Espaces communs agréables. La propreté des salles de bain est convenable mais pourrait être mieux. Nous avons vécu 15h sans électricité, mais nous avons eu des bières gratuites pour compenser.

Nice location and very helpful staff. The vibe is very laid back and chill. The bar and pool area is really nice to hang out in, and there was loads of activities. Overall I liked it, but my dorm was pretty dirty and desperately needed a sweep. To the credit of the staff, a lot of the people staying there were messy so it’s hard to clean around them.

Loved this place - it was super chill and really well located. The pool was such a welcome addition in the hot oaxacan heat. They do loads of activities which is great - shout out to Erika who is doing gods work helping people connect! I came back on 3 separate trips to Oaxaca I loved it so much!

Positiv: nettes Personal und schöne Kocharea Negativ: kein WLANempfang in unserem Zimmer, was echt nervig ist. Nach der ersten Nacht haben wir uns erkältet, weil die Bettdecken so dünn waren (auf Nachfrage haben wir dickere bekommen). Und bei der Dusche kann man sich entweder zwischen kochendheißen oder eiskalten Wasser entscheiden.

Es un lugar fantastico para socializar, la zona de la piscina es estupenda para pasar las tardes calurosas de Oaxaca. Los voluntarios como todo el personal que trabaja allí hacen quea.estancia todavia sea mejor, siempre dispuestos a ayudarte o darte conversacion.Si tengo que mencionar algo sería que el WiFi no llega bien a las habitaciones de arriba y que la cerveza en el bar podría ser algo más barata. Gracias por todo.

Everything was excellent, especially for the the price! Every night there were social events like karaoke and salsa and tour options / recommendations for the day. The staff were so friendly, rooms were clean , kitchen well stocked, and plenty of places to lounge around :D 10/10!

First-time hostel experience and I will definitely be coming back. I couldn't have asked for a better place to stay while I explored Oaxaca. Book now! P.S. I stayed in the exact room yaelromem391 did directly after he left and I slept like a baby every night. It's absurd to expect complete silence while staying at a hostel. The hostel obeys a strict lights-out, music-off policy at 11pm. It is advertised clearly so I don't think it's fair they gave such a poor score.
