Die Bilder und die Realität stimmen absolut überhaupt nicht überein. Die Zimmer sind lieblos gestaltet und das eigene Badezimmer existiert nicht.... stattdessen wird ein dreckiges Badezimmer mit anderen Gästen geteilt
The rooms are unlovely designed and the private bathroom does not exist.... instead a dirty bathroom is shared with other guests
we had a private room which was fine but could have been cleaner. Hostel gave us towels too which was a bonus. The hostel tried to charge for most other things though e.g. to leave your luggage after check out or even tried to charge us to stay at the hostel for a few hours before our bus. They also overcharged us for our stay and took days to refund us. They gave us false information about the entrance fees to tourist attractions and we wondered if they were trying to overcharge us for tours.
El personal se comporto como si no les gustara su trabajo, muy groseros. Te cobran por todo, en lo personal nos cobraron por dejar las maletas despues del checkout y al recogerlas estaban empapadas junto con la ropa dentro de las mismas por el almacen donde las habian puesto.Teniendo cuartos compartidos con 4 baños y regaderas deciden meter a los viajrtos a uno con 15 camas y un baño.
The staff behave as if they don't like their job, very rude. They charge you for everything, personally they charged us for leaving the suitcases after checkout and when we picked them up they were soaked together with the clothes inside them by the warehouse where they had put them.Having shared rooms with 4 bathrooms and showers they decide to measure the travelers to one with 15 beds and a bathroom.
Nice place but staff not very helpfull, we arrived before the end of check in time and nobody was there, we had to wait 30 and scream until someone who doesn’t work there opens to us. No payment by card. Covered me more than written on Hostelworld. Didn’t let us keep our stuff in the lockers/ any luggage storage. Overall okay, but basic client expectations not satisfied and expensive for what it is/ location.
Overall a nice clean place where we felt Secure. Location was brilliant - walking distance to almost everything. Only downside was that we paid for ensuite but Got a shared bathroom and toilet.
Wir haben ein privates Zimmer mit Bad gebucht, bekamen jedoch eines ohne eigenes Badezimmer. Das geteilte Bad war dreckig und nach dem Duschen, stand der Boden unter Wasser (trotz Schwelle). Das gesamte Hostel aber insb. Das Zimmer entsprach überhaupt nicht der Beschreibung und den Fotos auf site. Das Zimmer war lieblos eingerichtet, ein Kabel kam aus der Wand und es war nicht sauber. Zudem gab es keine Aktivitäten im Hostel, keine Empfehlungen oder Tour-Angebote oder einen Hostel-Chat.
We booked a private room with bathroom, but got one without a bathroom of our own. The shared bathroom was dirty and after showering, the floor was underwater (despite the threshold). The whole hostel but etc. The room did not correspond at all to the description and photos on site. The room was untidy furnished, a cable came out of the wall and it was not clean. Also there were no activities in the hostel, no recommendations or Tour-Angels or a Hostel-Chat.
La chica de recepción es super amable pero el cuarto femenino estaba súper sucio con compresas usadas en las camas de al lado y las sábanas sucias de otras personas que no se había retirado. El suelo también sucio. En general un poco desagradable.
The receptionist is super friendly but the ladies room was super dirty with used pads on the beds next door and dirty sheets from other people who hadn't checked out.
We had a private room for 2 nights. Pros Large shower Fairly good location Cons Lots of additional costs for towels, shower after check out and holding on to bags Lots of rules including no guests (can be quite standard) also a fine if your caught washing your clothes and many others which were not mentioned before
All in all it was good! The first night was very loud because of a family in the dorm but the second night was okay. The location is a little bit outside of the touristic area but that’s fine. You can't lock the dormitory but the entrance is guarded.
A good place to stay, it was a bit noisy with the walls being very thin and it was a bit further out than other hostels. But beds were comfy and the staff were polite. Not a huge social atmosphere I think because of the lack of comfy common areas but I did meet a few people!

Nice place but staff not very helpfull, we arrived before the end of check in time and nobody was there, we had to wait 30 and scream until someone who doesn’t work there opens to us. No payment by card. Covered me more than written on Hostelworld. Didn’t let us keep our stuff in the lockers/ any luggage storage. I would definitely stay at Hostal Chocolate Calenda again! It was clean, friendly, very cutely set up and budget friendly.
Had a great stay at this hostel. The private room was lovely and the shower was huge. Not much of an atmosphere but was nice to just relax. Not too far from town probably a 5-10 minute walk to the main square

Un hostel très simple mais avec une bonne literie et un staff qui est attentionné envers son guest . J’ai passé deux bonnes nuits dans cet hostel.
A very simple hostel but with good bed linen and a staff that is attentive to its guest. i spent two good nights in this hostel.

The staff were really great and helpful and the drinking water is a plus. I think we may have got the short straw with the room. If you have room 1 which is private, you have a room with no natural light as the window opens out to a storage cupboard. Regarding Security I would have given a 10/10 if it weren't for our bathroom window being broken so anyone who entered the storage cupboard could jump into our room, which I doubt would happen as everyone seemed lovely, but the risk is there.
Bel emplacement dans la ville, mais dortoirs de 4 proche des douches et des toilettes et un peu bruyant. Terrasse extérieure agréable. Les volontaires étaient très gentils et de bons conseils pour nos déplacements. Sympa
Nice location in the city, but 4 bedroom dormitories close to showers and toilets and a little noisy. nice outdoor terrace. the volunteers were very kind and good advice for our travels. nice
I just want to say thank you guys because they save me in the celebration of the “día de muertos”all the Personal there were so nice and helpful. Thank you for everything. The location it’s very good. You can walk to the center and you can go to the Central. Thank you for everything.

good spacious hostel, a little out of the centre so quiet. When I stayed there were no other guests, only members of staff living there so bad for socialising. Asked to stay in the social area for a few hours after checking out but was told we couldn't, this was annoying.

En mi estancia todo estuvo con buenas hostilidades por parte del personal que labora y los servicios no puedo quejarme, así que lo recomiendo ampliamente, para toda la gente viajera que quiera ir de visita, vacaciones a Oaxaca o ir a pasarla bien que mejor que hastal calenda chocolate. Ciao.
In my stay everything was very hostile from the staff that worked and the services I can't complain about, so I highly recommend it, for all travelers who want to go on a visit, vacation in Oaxaca or go have a good time that is better than a chocolate calenda.
