Never felt so uncomfortable in a hostel. Staff is really "special"....
People behind desk made a mistake with my booking. Their solution was to come and wake me up at midnight to tell me i had to change rooms. Who does that? I had booked a bunk to get some much needed rest before continuing my travels, but alas. Unheard of and absolutely the worst solution one could come up with. I’m normally no advocate to get people fired, but the incompetence was something i have never seem before and hopefully never will again.
Very poor experience. No bedside nearby plugs for charging your phones. Also, I believe the cleaner changed my bedsheets etc accidentally thinking I’m a different guest and that person stole my tower that I had bought. So all in all very bad experience staying in this hostel. It’s also full of old people.
The free breakfast should be at least until 10:00 The staff was friendly but honestly the it doesn't worth 62$ in my opinion.
It was the only hostel that showed up when I searched for them in Calgary and you’re honestly better off splashing the cash and staying in a hotel. There were no plugs near the beds, which were extremely hard to sleep on. Sound travelled a lot, and was hard to sleep as the room was next to the bathrooms which you could hear through the walls. Only 3 toilets/2 showers for women on the floor. Breakfast was very mediocre. Location was fine (close to downtown and restaurants) but not the nicest ar...
Stayed due to limited options. While the location is convenient I didn’t feel safe walking around day or night and ended up paying for Ubers. The room smelt musty and pillows are shocking. No power outlet next to the bed and the boards they do have are loose. No privacy. Disrespectful guests being loud in the hall past 3am (not hostels fault but night manager could have told them to be quiet). One positive - it doesn’t say breaky included but they had free frozen waffles, better than nothing
Wi-Fi is not working and limited help from staff
Not a bad place. One of the only options in the city of Calgary. My negative was that they don't have any power outlets next to the beds. Usually most hostels have that next to all bunks so people can charge up overnight.
The bathrooms were very dirty and smelled horrible, and the doors were left wide open. This made the hallways and rooms smell very bad. Floorboards and beds were old and creaked extremely loudly, so any movement woke everybody in the room up. The breakfast was frozen waffles and bread laid out in the kitchen, and there was nowhere near enough coffee for everybody there. The staff was not helpful whatsoever when we spoke with them.
Beds are noisy, bathrooms are broken and not clean

Chicos el mejor hostal al que pueden ir, funciona perfectamente son amables y hay actividades y ahi vas conociendo a personas todos muy agradables
Guys the best hostel you can go to, it works perfectly they are friendly and there are activities and there you will meet all very nice people
There were very nice shared spaces with plenty of seats both in the kitchen and lobby. Kitchen was large and well equipped. The shared bathroom was fairly clean. There were no curtains on the beds but other than that the room was nice. The staff were very helpful and friendly when approached with questions. I only stayed for one night so didn’t have opportunity to make full use of the facilities or activities and didn’t really explore the surroundings. Would stay here again if in the area :)
My stay at this hostel was very good. The hostel is very basic. Bathroom facilities are clean. The kitchen as well equipped, and has two stoves and two commercial size refrigerators. The grocery store is literally a two minute walk. The area is close to everything. Yes there is a homeless population in the area but not once did I ever feel unsafe. Lots of good restaurants an Uber was super cheap to get around. For the most part staff were friendly. I would recommend.

Hostel very well located, within walking distance of the river, the public library, the Calgary Tower, a grocery store, a pharmacy, etc. The private room was comfortable and clean; on the other hand, it is a central heating so no way to adjust the temperature of the room; I had to leave the fan even if it was -5C outside. The shared bathroom was basic; the shower used unfortunately did not have a showerhead ... The kitchen is very good.
Great hostel, definitely sketchy area of downtown with a lot of homeless people on drugs. Within 15-30min walking distance of 17th Ave which has a lot of bars. There's a train stop close by which allows for free travel throughout downtown. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Everything was clean and no bedbugs or any sanitation concerns. Highly reccomended for a stay in Calgary
Highly recommended.
The hostel was good enough to sleep. However there are a lot of homeless people in this area.
Fantastic facilities, staff were great, location was perfect, close to tram line, grocery store and overall very central. Not really the hostel’s fault but just keep in mind central Calgary has a large homeless population so might feel a bit uneasy on the street
Great staff!
Everything was very clean and the front desk was very helpful and kind
Totally fine hostel, but the area of Calgary is kinda a bit ghostlike, kinda unnerving. It seems the city is kinda like that in winter in general though. Everyone was fine with the hostel and perfectly fine.
Great location. Clean, staff at front desk available 24/7. Not a lot of events so a little bit more difficult to get to know fellow travellers and build a better atmosphere. Also no group chat or sign up for events that could be improved.
Pros: - amazing location - clean large kitchen area - second room lounge was big with lots of books, games, desk for work. Cons: - no outlet by bed - no shower doors I would classify with this place as a completely average or slightly below average hostel. I’m happy Calgary has a hostel now to provide a cheaper alternative for people looking to visit the city, but this isn’t any place special. Certainly not a bad experience tho, i would stay again.
Well mentioned, large kitchen and great staff
Good location with good security
Awesome place, very modern, clean and staff friendly!
One of the best experiences with hosteling. Thank you!
Really good location for downtown, nice kitchen, showers were fine, comfortable beds. Just be aware the doors close loudly and noise from upper floors is also very loud. Earplugs are a must! Staff was friendly but it took a staff member 1 hour to enforce quiet hours while people were literally screaming and playing loud music in front of her desk.
