Hostel is a scam, I booked a three 3 room and when I arrived it only had 2 beds. They still charged me for this and will not give a refund as they claim it’s a triple room but I clearly booked a 3 bed room. The receptionist attitude was awful aswell he waited 5 minutes to finish a drink before acknowledging us left us standing there. Avoid at all costs
Do NOT stay here. Beds are cramped, unstable, and dirty; mouldy bathrooms and broken fixtures. Constant loud music and no quiet common area. Staff are indifferent and aggressively upsell overpriced tours. Worst of all, I was touched in the night by another man in the dorm, and there was zero support or concern from staff. Unsafe, unhygienic, and extremely unpleasant.
Booked a private room with a private bathroom: hot water didn’t work, towels smelled moldy, breakfast not included like most other hostels. They didn’t provide comforters only a thin sheet. Wifi didn’t work. BEWARE OF BUYING TOURS with this place not only are there cheaper tours available elsewhere but they sold us a tour to Rio Celeste when it was raining knowing the river would be brown. They just want your money and think you’re stupid tourists. Did not feel taken care of at all!

I was still labeling the food in the fridge when it disappeared. beyond that the worst thing was the attention and poor cleaning
The pool/ bar area was under construction with drills and pounding going on all day. We had no notice that the construction was happening and would’ve re booked a different hostel. I also booked an all female dorm and they switched me to a regular dorm. I was unable to get a refund for my room and go somewhere else. The room smelt like mold and the toilet barely worked. The overall cleanliness of this place was just really bad.
The kitchen was really bad. There wasn’t enough plates forks etc… and it was really untidy. We stayed in dorm and all the beds where different and those were really close together so no privacy at all. The staff was helpful but we booked our shuttles by ourselves because they asked for more money.
El hostal esta ubicado en el puro centro. La habitación correcta, pero teníamos una reserva para 2 noches y solo nos quedamos 1. Había un grupo alojado que no paró de hacer ruido en toda la noche y la habitación contigua tenía la música puesta hasta las 4am. Tuvimos que llamarles la atención nosotros mismos puesto que el personal de seguridad no les llamó la atención en ningún momento. No accedieron a reembolsarnos la segunda noche pero nos marchamos igual. Experiencia muy frustrante.
The hostel is located in the pure center. the right room, but we had a reservation for 2 nights and only stayed 1. there was a group of guests who kept making noise all night and the next room had music playing until 4am. we had to call their attention ourselves since the security personnel did not call their attention at any time. they did not agree to refund us the second night but we left anyway. very frustrating experience.
This hostel advertises as being “posh” or a resort, but it’s not. Everything is outdated and maybe it was nice 10 years ago, but now it’s like they haven’t bothered replacing things as they need to. The room had no mirror, no chest of drawers, no chair, no wardrobe even though it had plenty of space! The walls needed patching as they had holes. The whole building rattled and sounded like it was breaking when people walked on second floor above! However, staff and hammocks were nice...
Très peu d’ustensiles et de matériel pour cuisiner dans la cuisine commune qui est affreusement dégoûtante. 3 coquerelles retrouvées dans ma chambre et mes effets personnels. Plafond qui dégoûte quand il pleut. Lieux sont dégoûtants, et j’ai fait plusieurs hostels, il y a place à l’amélioration.
There was hair on the bedsheets and trash bags on the floor from the guests before. The walls in both the bedroom and bathroom were mouldy. The worst thing however was that the rain came through the roof at night and every morning our room was flooded so that our backpacks and clothes got wet. The staff offered us a free laundry service. However, when we went to pick up the clean laundry later, they forgot about my friends‘ laundry and she got her wet clothes back..

Nice hostel! Super clean and well taken care of, feels like a hotel. I loved the hammocks, pool and bar. I only stayed one night so I’m not too sure of the social aspect but it seems like the pool/bar is where ppl tend to gather. The rooms had AC which was amazing. Staff was really helpful and they can help you book transportation as well, there’s also a bus station not too far.
I was in a dorm and the bed frame is really unstable. The room was pretty smelly and it had a damp problem.
Great hostel over all, nice staff willing to help with booking activities, really good breakfast and perfectly located. The only downside was the smell in the 6 bed dorm where we stayed which didn’t go away no matter how much we tried to air the space out. Nice A/C during the night though!
Great hostel in the heart of La Fortuna! The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, always happy to give tips or help with tours. Breakfast was delicious and a really nice way to start the day. The location is unbeatable (right in the middle of town) with loads of great restaurants, cafes, and shops just steps away. Clean, social, and great value for money. Would definitely stay here again!
Uns hat der Aufenthalt so semi gut gefallen, leider konnten wir kaum schlafen weil sich der Laustärkepegel eher so angefühlt hat als hätte man mitten auf der Straße gelegen (Fenster und Türen hätte man sich sparen können). Im Badezimmer keine Ablegemöglichkeit oder Haken, weder für Handtücher noch für Kosmetiktaschen oder sogar das Klopapier. Im ganzen war das Zimmer akzeptabel aber der Wohlfühlfaktor eher gering.
We enjoyed the stay so semi good, unfortunately we could hardly sleep because the air temperature felt more like you were in the middle of the street (windows and doors could have been spared). no drainage or hooks in the bathroom, no towels or cosmetics bags or even toilet paper. overall the room was acceptable but the comfort factor was rather low.

I interacted with only a couple of staff, one guy is almost unapproachable. He is not well coming and just trying to be cool. Assigned a room which does not have a working shower. We have to ask for another rooms key in order to use the shower. One fellow mate said the issue was communicated but they didn’t act on it. Properly is silent after 10pm, which I like and you may not. Overall a good properly can be the best with better guest and facility handling. Better don’t stay if below 7.5

This is a good hostel.
The location was perfect, smack dab in the middle of the town. Walls were thin. my wife sneezed, and the person in the neighboring room gave her a blessing. It was generally quiet, though.
The common spaces are okay and the location is central. But the staff really ruin this place. Very grumpy, not helpful and always feel like your burdening them. The A/C is set on 17 degrees and you only get a sheet to cover yourself with. They will not let you change the A/C despite all people in our room shivering at night. The beds are poor construction and really swing when somebody gets in. I was missing my curtains and the staff didn’t seem interested.

Ich hatte das 6 Bett Zimmer nur Frauen und leider ist es sehr arm ausgestattet. Ich hatte Glück das dass Zimmer leer war und ich somit einfach meine Sachen über die Schließfächer aufhängen konnte zum trocknen. Aber wenn das Zimmer voll gewesen wäre, dann wären so ein paar hacken oder Stangen ganz praktisch um was aufzuhängen. Vielleicht auch so einzelne Lampen für die Betten wären ganz nett, damit man nicht immer das große Licht anhaben muss.
I had the 6 Bed Room only for women and unfortunately it is very poorly equipped. I was lucky that the room was empty and so I could just hang my things over the lockers to dry. but if the room was full, then a couple of chops or rods would be very practical to hang something. maybe even individual lamps for the beds would be nice enough so you don't have to always have the big light on.
Great place to stay very close to everything. The bartender Frani was amazing and the whole staff was very kind and great!
Great hostel for all the activities. Yet the atmosphere was dead. The music was unnecessarily loud considering no one was ever at the bar. My hostel room had some foul people in it making the experience not as nice. And the kitchen area a little grubby. But a convenient stay non the less
Great Stuff, specially frannie and jorge were the best. They made us feel as a family and we were always safe. The bathroom at the dorm was not really clean, the shower was most of the time overflowted. Food was good, and the Drinks also. The Hostel is very close to everything, parkingspace is on the street. Thank you for having us.

friendliest and funnest hostel , staff was great, they had good breakfast and the outdoor lounge area was the best for the price ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Did not like the atmosphere… there is no communal area except bar and pool, where loud music is playing from 2 in the afternoon even when nobody is there to enjoy ‘the party’. It looks like it’s just for the staff instead of the guest… would not mind if there was another place to hang out, but there is not…
Chambre impeccable. Douche et literie très conforts. Mais l’espace à vivre ressemble à une discothèque jusqu’à 22h. Impossible de se poser tranquillement dans la journée après une excursion. L’espace commun pour la cuisine n’est pas entretenue et fait partie du restaurant de l’hôtel.
impeccable room. shower and very comfortable bedding. but the living space looks like a nightclub until 10pm. impossible to relax in the day after an excursion. the common area for the kitchen is not maintained and is part of the hotel restaurant.
