Wink at Upper Cross Street

Worst room I’ve ever stayed in. I booked a family room for a bit of an adventure for my family. The concept was cute but the room was atrocious. The wall paper was peeling off the walls, it once had a television but that’s been removed and all that remains is the mounting plugs and missing wall paper. The bunk beds were filthy as the bunk beds must be difficult for the staff to clean with their design. The bottom bed had dead bugs in it, thankfully not bed bugs but still gross. The blankets were no better than airplane blankets. Pillow cases were covered in stains. But worst of all is the mattresses, if it could be called that, were only about an inch thick. Pretty much sleeping on a wood board.

Awful experience – bed bugs and rude staff! I found bed bugs in my bed, and when I told the staff, they didn’t seem to care at all. I had to push just to get a new bed, and later that night they even gave the same infested bed to another guest, even though there were empty ones available. So inconsiderate and careless. They also overcharged me for the following night, and the staff were unfriendly and unhelpful the entire time. Definitely not worth the money or the stress.
