The Loft Hostel Budapest

Weird creepy vibe, whole place creaked, felt like I was unwanted guest in someone’s house. Washing was hung up everywhere all the time in communal areas which felt odd, owner took photos of our passports on his phone. No key cards to unlock rooms so felt very unsafe and beds have no privacy.

Wouldn't go back. Bad vibes from staff and very unwelcoming.

Auberge très jolie et bien située ! Seulement 2 toilettes et salle de bains qui mériteraient un petit coup de jeune :) (Peut être refaire les douches)

The hostel itself isn’t the best. The bathrooms weren’t very clean, and the shower floors were damaged. Rooms are a bit old-fashioned, with noisy wooden parquet. It was extremely hot during my stay, with no air conditioning and only two fans, so it was hard to sleep. I woke up sweating in the middle of the night. What truly stands out is the kindness of the owners, always ready to give tips or have a chat, and the warm, friendly atmosphere. It is very easy there to know new kind people

It was ok location is super sketch and the private room isn't really that private as it's next to reception for the private room price I would just book a hotel.

Nice hostel, at the top of an old, we supposed austro-Hungarian block. Lovely staff, helped us a lot. Great location. The loft relays the vibe its photos show you, but was really quiet when we were there. Also it’s worth noting that the private room we stayed in is right next to the reception desk. Bed is also crazy creaky 😭 overall still good, and probably has the potential to be really fun.

Prepert delivered on all that can be expected the location is excellent.

Loved my stay there! Everybody was soo friendly and helpful! I just got a bit hot during the day, but the fans help a lot! Hoping to return someday :)

Good place. Has literally everything you’d need, kitchen, tea, couches, books, close to everything downtown. The first volunteers there were super fun and engaging, hung out with everyone and brought a vibe, unfortunately the new volunteers that came after were not interested in making friends or engaging with other guests. I’m used to staying at hostels where they have guest activities to bring people together, so there wasn’t any of that. But overall a pretty good place. : )

Really unique hostel, loved the vibe of the place - great for meeting and hanging out with people in a more chill setting. Jordan and Anna were fantastic hosts. If you‘re after something social but not party oriented, I can‘t recommend highly enough.

Was a great hostel!

The Loft is easily one of the best hostels I've stayed in. It's small, cosy, well maintained, and the staff are really lovely and helpful. It's super close to the centre of the city, the river, and loads of metro/bus/tram stops. Shout out as well to Kis Pipacs bakery just round the corner. The large communal areas make socialising really easy and the beds/lockers are decent enough. Thanks Anna and Jordan for making my stay so nice!

Great place, super homey, incredibly kind staff

Really good stay, it felt less like a hostel and more like bunking in someone’s home. The hosts are friendly and did a great job of creating a “homely” atmosphere. Great location (nearby city centre), good value for money and good people - hard not to recommend this especially for solo travellers.

Amazing hostel with the friendliest staff who are able to help give incredibly helpful recommendations. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience here! Centrally located and easy to navigate to and from, would recommend to anyone looking for a good place to stay.

Great hostal and great people! you feel completely at home. The neighborhood is calm and perfectly located to see lots of places by foot. Would totally recommend!

Excellent hostel! I kept extending my stay because I liked it so much. Staff (Ferci and Anna, and volunteers) are awesome, very friendly and welcoming. It's a really good balance of sociable and calm, so you'll meet cool people to go to Szimpla Kert or Instant Fogas with, but it's not a party hostel so you can actually relax and sleep well at night. They have a kitchen, huge living room, and comfortable beds. They even provide flip flops and towels to go to the thermal baths. I'll 100% stay here...

I stayed 2 nights just after Christmas and wished I stayed longer. This is a place very well designed for organic relationships to form. Hardly any performance, or peer pressure towards a norm. Everyone just does their own thing. You'd think that means everyone is alone and lonely, but somehow, the place and the people who hold it, makes people want to start talking to each other, however little, however much. And maybe hang out. I feel that this is what a hostel is maybe meant to be.

Couldn't have asked for a better place to spend Christmas! The location is very convenient and the building is beautiful.

The place is amazing for the price, I got to meet people from all across the globe and made some good friends. The kitchen and living area makes the difference as it becomes an easy spot to hangout and meet people. And there are plenty of puzzles and games to spend time.
