Tangier Kasbah Hostel

The girl welcoming us was really nice, but the guy at the reception at night was really unfriendly without reason. The room was cold and the toilet was wet all over. For this price one can get a really nice Airbnb with proper heating and everything included.

The guy who is on reception day / night is very rude and not helpful. He sleeps in the SAME DORM as you & he SNEAKS HIS GIRLFRIEND into his bed and they sleep together in a single bed in a shared dorm. This is completely unprofessional and disgusting to be sleeping in a bunk bed with the receptionist and his girlfriend squeezed into the bunk below you, in the same bed. The owner needs to get rid of this receptionist ASAP for this hostel to have any chance at being successful again.

The check-in was smooth but staff lacked consistency in hospitality, I felt ignored during my stay. I witnessed a moment of anger with a guest which left the atmosphere a bit unwelcomy and gave a sense of unprofessionalism. The staff were hardly present, I left my key on the front desk upon departure. The beds and bathroom were clean but the kitchen doesn't match the description. I think it's a good place for an urgent 1-night stay, but would definitely seek alternative options for longer stays.

Absolutely awful. Looks nothing like in the pictures. It's an absolute mess. Pillows ripped, no cleanliness. Kitchen is disgusting. The terrace is a mess. Its so disgusting. Do not go here, the pictures are very misleading. You have to pay extra for towels, coffee, laundry. It's over priced for what you get. Not worth worth money. The location is in the centre and the staff are nice that's the only good thing I can say about it. Its right by the mosque so you will hear morning prayer very loud

The hostel is not worth the price, the staff is not welcoming at all. After checking in, the receptionist, who seems to hate his job, only showed me the room without providing any info about the facilities, showers, or even the city. I checked in 3 hours after the designated check-in time, which means my bed should have been ready, but it wasn't. I had to wait in front of the room until the receptionist set it up, nd still, it was missing a blanket, there is no curtains or sockets ...

Bei Ankunft wurde eine vielfache höhere Summe verlangt als in der App angegeben. Wurde mit einem "Fehler von Hostelworld" argumentiert. Letztlich war ich der Leidtragende und musste das 5-fache des vorgesehenen Preises bezahlen, da es Spätabends war und ein umzug in ein anderes hostel damit in diesem moment undenkbar.

There was 10€ fee for late check in. This fee was not mentioned on the website where I booked my stay. The staff laugh about it says “ why should we wait for you?” I send email 2 days in advance that was never answered. There is regular plane from Malaga that arrives late the check in time should also be available. I was there for two nights. I had to wait an hour when I arrive for anyone to open to me. The room smell like moist and it was not really clean. Hicham, the little guy responsable at the moment was very rude, condescendant and disrespectful; mainly toward woman and two ladies that I met there that were in distress as Hicham was about to kick them out at midnight because of papers issues that were not make know to them earlier in the day. Pros: the staff was friendly and helpful when needed Cons: they charged an additional 100dirham without any forewarning due to my late check in (this is equivalent to the cost of one night's stay!). This is not listed on the website or any of the other confirmation emails I got so it seemed unfair and dishonest. The staff seemed to have a lot of friends come over to hang out and drink- on my last night there were random people sleeping in the common space and vomit in the sink.

Had the best stay here. Younes and Oussama are so friendly. Oussama gave us some local food, made us tea/coffee, & took us out to local spots in the evening. The rooftop is gorgeous too and so lovely to relax on. The only two downsides were that the bed wasn’t super comfortable (although it had curtains that made up for it) and the Danish receptionist/volunteer was relatively unfriendly/cold. Can’t fault the others though! Will definitely stay here again if I’m ever back in Tanger

I had a fantastic stay at Tangier Kasbah Hostel. The rooms were clean and well appointed, and the staff were great, especially Oussama. He went above and beyond with recommendations and was very helpful right from the first night. Would throughly encourage staying here

Super nice, highly recommended!

Lovely little hostel in the old medina, beds were comfortable, everywhere was clean, a nice rooftop terrace overlooking the city.. there wasn't much of a vibe or many people to meet though. The staff were super lovely and helpful! I will stay here again when I'm next in Tangier. 😊😊

Fueron muy atentos en todo momento con nosotras, tanto los días previos a la llegada como los días que estuvimos allí.

it was really lovely staying here. The three staff members super friendly. Would have been nice just as in Tetuan to have the breakfast included but I heard Tanger in general is a more expensive city. The hostel itself is really beautiful. Stunning views, clean showers and beds and nice guests. Would surely reconsider return but honesty would as well check if there is a comparable option with breakfast. Haha. Thanks a million!

Increíble estancia! El ambiente muy familiar y el trato cercano. Hice las actividades y me sorprendieron bastante, tanto los quads, como tomar el te al atardecer, con transporte incluido y todo muy seguro y cuidado. Tomé las clases de surf gestionadas desde el hostel y la instructora Mina fue muy paciente y agradable, aprendí un montón para no tener ninguna experiencia previa. Gracias a Ahmed por tener este espacio tan agradable donde se notan las ganas de compartir y cuidar a los viajeros.

La comunicacion con el staff fue pesima: les avisamos con anticipacion que nuestro vuelo llegaria tarde. cuando llegamos, nos tuvieron esperando casi 15 minutos afuera porque nadie aparecia para el check in. Very good location in the medina of Tangier, with a clean private room and shares bathroom. Most of the time the staff was friendly and helpful.

This is a sweet little place tucked away in the winding streets of Tangier. It had a cute rooftop to see across the city’s views and had very well equipped beds for the price. There are some oddly specific rules, such as no cooking fish and no washing clothes in the sink. We also would’ve really appreciated the staff to have more comprehensive knowledge about things eg. whether buses are reliable, when they run. Had a really nice stay there, the workers there were really nice and helpful. It was a bit cold though and you could hear everything, luckily the other guests were respectful and not loud :) could still recommend it bet it’s really nice in the summer and the location is amazing :)

Everything was great! Easy to find, cozy room, clean shared bathroom.

+ nice staff + they organised an airport transfer + good location + comfortable beds - a bit cold at night - showers were very inconvenient because they were located right above the toilet, of course after showering everything was wet and slippery

Very much recommend this hostel! Lovely staff, especially the young lady from reception. Also very clean. The only remarks I have is that the shower facility could be a bit more modern and that during winter the private room was quite humid.

Perfect little hostel, the staff were super kind and helpful, and the place had a really friendly and cosy atmosphere. I really recommend kasbah hostel and look forwards to staying here again soon :)
